Lord Ywaine Telmar
Train hard, fight easy ... and win. Train easy, fight hard ... and die.
Description: Perhaps six foot even, this man is tall enough to be above average - blessed with wide shoulders and long arms, a clear benefit for an archer. His thighs are thick with muscle - a man clearly used to long runs and walks. His hands are calloused and rough for years of labor, his skin tanned from the sun. A short beard covers his jawline and cheeks, trimmed somewhat short but shot through with the beginnings of grey. His eyes are a pale grey and set underneath heavy brown brows, his hair short enough to not fall below his ears or into his eyes. Tattoos run along his right arm but stop just below his elbow, also on his right chest - both rarely seen.
He's dressed in simple clothing - tunic and breaches, boots that look lovingly cared for yet well broken in. He wears a tabard in red with the Crimson Blade sigil on the chest, a sergeant's ranking on the right breast.
Personality: Intense and organized, focused heavily on training his men and passing along his lessons learned on the streets of cities large and small. He can smile when needed to but is intense to a fault.
Background: Born the illegitimate son of a sibling of Arn Telmar thirty five years ago. He was raised away from the bustling compound of the noble family. By his pre-teen years he was a strong, fast lad - adept at running and loving time in the woods, along creeks and staying over night under the stars. At eighteen and a full grown man he joined the Iron Guard, serving for 15 yrs with distinction. Retiring as a Captain under his Uncle Everard - although he didn't know the truth, then. He retired to join Tobias Telmar's Crimson Blades, a small battalion of sell swords. Hired as the sergeant of the scout platoon, he's served in that stead since then. An acknowledged expert in tracking, archery and combat with his axe, he's found the new vocation exciting. In the last year his mother died; with that came the truth of his heritage. An investigation, research and discussion later he was recognized as the illegitimate heir to his father and enobled in the Telmar family. Now Lord Ywaine, he's spent the last year trying to adjust himself to his new lifestyle. His younger cousin Tobias expects no special treatment of his older cousin and Ywaine asks for none, used to making it on his own by now.
