Description: Jephray stands a little under six feet tall, with dark hair that falls just short of touching his shoulders. The beard that clings to his jaw is well kept and styled, leaving the rest of his face clean. His features are sculpted and lean giving him a youthful appearance. His eyes a light grey, and they frame his hawklike nose. His skin is tanned lightly from long exposure to the outdoors. His arms and legs are corded and thickened with well defined musculature. Like some brothers his arms and torso have been covered in religious tattoos, though these are kept hidden by clothing, unless his sleeves are rolled up. Despite his muscled and somewhat bulky frame, he moves with the fluid, killer grace of a well versed knight
Personality: Being drowned and hung by your loved ones does change your perspective. A sharp and biting wit and gallows humor make him awkward in social functions. But Jeph's loyalty cannot be challenged he holds true to house Thrax as a loyal captain and house knight. Though his cousin rules from Deep Eddy, its Jeph's belief that his family died with his father and it reflects in how he treats suspected traitors. His rage builds like a hurricane, and he relishes it once stoked to ire. To friends he is kind even if crass. To his men he is a fine Captain. To his enemies, he is a Hurricane
Background: House Pike was one of the larger houses on Tyde and within it two contentious brothers, Hudson and Jameson Pike. though Jameson the eldest ruled most of the family split itself in loyalty to either the Lord or the Captain Hudson. It was into this simmer conflict that Jephray was born.
Like his father he was made for the sea and spent his youth on deck moreso than land. He learned to swim, fight and Captain a boat. Both father and mother made sure he worked for his want to instill responsibility and grit. The eldest, Jeph surely was the grittiest. by eighteen he was Captain of his own ship and by 19 set to be engaged to a Wake of Tyde. But such joys would not be realized. For rebellion lay in the Fishes that grew too bold.
Tyde rebelled and with it came half the banners of Pike, the family torn as Hudson preached caution and loyalty. Jameson would have none of it. While Hudson gathered his fleet for his overlords Jameson struck his brother at his costal garrison. His ships sank, and family butchered in their beds. Jephray was first hung then drowned and left to the see before his father and mother before they were similarily executed. The same followed for his siblings by cousins and kin. It was known as the Salting as Hudson and his wife were sent in salted barrels to Tydehall as signs of loyalty. Jephray however survived, his body picked up by fishermen and taken down to the Thrax once the situation could be sussed
Given that his father still had survivg loyal men who could attest to the deed, Jeph was given a ship and sent back to aid Victus Thrax in the salting of Tyde. By ship and by field Jeph brought his Hurricane to bare. Jephray lost an eye in the great battle in which Victus slee the Duke of Tyde, but he gained a knighthood.
An honor it is to serve as a house knight and Captain for house Thrax. Exiled by the surviving member of his house, Jeph who styles his colours with a Black fish instead of red on a field of blue and green is ever Thrax's man. There are rumors he might be offered a marriage of a lowest cousin, but his loyalty was sealed with water in his lungs a long time past.
