Countess Paige Stahlben
Go and hide in a hole if you wish, but you won't live one instant longer. Fear profits us nothing.
Obituary: Died mysteriously in the Lowers while investigating the death of Duke Anze Malvici. There wasn't a mark on her, but she died with a look of pure rage on her face.
Description: Of average height and athletic build, Paige is not one to immediately garner notice or attention. Her features tend to be described as having a 'fey cast' to them, pretty in its own way but not overly remarkable. Her wheat blond hair is about shoulder length, most often parted to the right to display a shaved left side of her head. All the hair has been scraped away, leaving clean scalp and an interesting tattoo of a green vine and leave that decorates her scalp then curls down around behind her ear and along her neck before disappearing under the collar of her shirt. Her eyes are sky blue and piercing, often squinted against the sun's rays. She has the first hints of a tan to her skintone but seems to prefer keeping covered up rather than exposing her skin to the sun's rays. That slight color allows the thin lines of scars to stand out more easily against her skin, mostly nicks and cuts from blades. She tends towards functional, comfortable clothing in earth tones.
Personality: Jovial and gregarious by nature, she also manages to display an insightful intellect and shows a keen eye that misses little. She will drink and carouse with the best of them when given leave to do so, but her strong sense of duty will not allow her own wants to get in the way of performing her job.
Background: While most of the Fieldstone family was content to farm the land outside of Oakhaven, Paige had higher aspirations. Poor but ambitious, she determined to join the great Keaton Huntsmen from a young age. Having seen them hunt down and catch a known thief when she was a young girl may have inspired that desire, but it didn't stop there.
Defying her family, she left her father's farm (the one shared next door to Jonathan's) and ran off to Oakhaven at 16 to make her way. Little was heard from her for a number of years, but it seems she's been reassigned to Arx now with some of her family having made their way to the city.
Name | Summary |
Aethan | Enthusiastic. It's probably a good quality. |
Agatha | Her head is a work of art. Her enthusiasm will serve her well. I look forward to running into her more around the training center! |
Amari | A friendly, sharp-eyed Huntswoman from back home, who looks to know her stuff. |
Austen | A huntsman and stoic woman. She continues to better herself, which is most honourable. |
Caith | She has a partially shaved head, is a master of puns and is, apparently best friends with the King. She is, probably, the coolest person ever. OMG. |
Cullen | A ranger from Oathlands farmer stock, but she is far more than she seems. It leaves me wondering how much more, and that is a question I need to discover as soon as I can do so. Plus, she's an excellent conversationalist. |
Duarte | She seems ever present. Like the fog! Very concerned about my sexual exploits (or lack of them). I can't say she's not fun, though. She is quite fun. |
Edain | A Hunstwoman in the Employ of the Keatons. She is friendly and outgoing, and willing to help a stranger. She has all the qualities that make me proud of my people and the Oathlands. I will have to come up with an excuse to drag people out on a hunt and ask her to lead it. I do not get to go hunting enough. |
Elgana | A drinking friend of Lord Salvatore's, I think. Or a sparring partner. Perhaps both? She seems nice enough to get to know. Even if she drinks ale. |
Gareth | A commoner in serivice to the Keatons. She seems to have a good sense of humor and is fitting of her position. Which is to say: tolerable. Congratulations are in order. |
Ignacio | She seems to be a friendly woman with a good sense of humor. A huntsman from an Oathlander House, I look forward to see what kind of impact she makes here in Arx. |
Jeffeth | I read about her and she got spooked when I told her. Jonathan wrote correctly. She is quite lovely and seems fiery. Perhaps we'll get to know each other better some day with a dance in the sands. |
Jordan | As chipper as Adriana, as eager to fight as Jonathan. Them Fieldstones look a like but they're also peas in a pod, in the best of ways. I'll have to remember to buy this one a beer, though. Maybe a breakfast, too, if we're training in the morning. |
Marian | She's got a life about her that just shines all over. It's like a light that is always on. I do enjoy her company. Although I regret missing the gymnastics. |
Mia | Competent. And fair in her assessment of the Abandoned, for good and ill alike. |
Niklas | The least bumpkin of the Fieldstone three. Is apparently a ranger with a noble house? There's an interesting story there. |
Oswyn | An archer and a fine fighter, from the looks of things. |
Reese | A cheerful and friendly woman of the hunt. |
Sabella | She seems as absolutely delightful as each of her family members. The Fieldstones are wonderful additions to Arx, each and every one of them! |
Salvatore | A tough young lady! Clearly wherever she's from, they grow them strong and brave. Drinks and spars with this one, having a seasoned archer at your back is always a good thing. It was great fun, and I'll take her out riding. |
Thesarin | Practical, from what I seen. I like that. Got some Marks, too; curious what that's about. |
Valarian | Seems pretty alright for an Oathlander, none of the stuffiness. Squire should have said she was hot though, too. And had an interesting attitude. Need to get drunk with her properly. |
Vercyn | This Oathland archer is fearless! Or perhaps a little fearful. She does have good taste in men, however. |
Veronica | Another Fieldstone, and trained as a Huntswoman - even though she is a commoner, if she is anything like her cousin Jonathan, she will be a friend to House Keaton. |
