Action by Martino
The recently made Duke of House Malvici is still supplying payments to his current network of spies (Action #3269) and also using his newfound status to further recruit within the Shadows.
Martino is setting them the task to pull together any old records across the Lyceum about House Malvici. In particular he will be focusing on connections of Lord Giorgio Malvici from his own research (Clues 3977 & 4259 and Plot 1106) but will be collecting in from all of his connections the latest in information.
Giorgio Malvici was the cousin to the Duke at this early time during the Reckoning and his son Monte who died. Giorgio found out about the assassination in mysterious ways which has been what had driven Martino's wish to understand. Especially as Giorgio wrote the words that have guided his life. Was it through a connection he had? A particular sense? An artifact that could allow him to see either into a different time or a different part of the world?
Within those networks he will be, once more, recruiting.

It's the way of the Lyceum, to operate within tangled webs of intrigue. With leaders doing what they can to amass as much information as they can, to be wielded behind closed doors like a warrior swings their sword in the course of battle. So it is for the newly minted Duke Martino Malvici. He grows his network of informants, and he tasks them with finding more information on the late Giorgio Malvici.
They come up with nothing. Now, while this is disappointing it's probably also very much expected. So much information has been lost over the many centuries that it's just not odd at all that his people aren't able to produce anything new for their lord. They know what they did before, along with some inconsequential confirmation that he lived and died shortly after the conclusion of Reckoning. With the trail cold, Martino may just be considering laying the task aside entirely. What else is there for him to do?
But one foggy morning, following the discovery of Asher Grayhope's body in the Lower Boroughs, a package arrives for Martino. It's a small box and along with it, a letter. Which reads:
"Duke Malvici,
I hope that you'll turn out to be less of a disappointment than Giorgio and Monte were. At the very least you've impressed me with your tenacity and cleverness, for now. You are to keep this with you at all times, safe and secure. Don't lose it. And please do stay alive, it's inconvenient when the holder's die.
By the by, make time to meet with Princess Berenice Velenosa and show this to her."
Inside of the box? A ring set with a black diamond.
