Action by Katarina

After more recent events of Eurus was reported to Katarina during an unexpected meeting, Katarina has decided to discreetly enact measures to try and attempt to gain more current information on the happenings in respective dune kingdoms to track the progress of the Dune Emporer in his path to conquer and unite the 13 kingdoms into a unified force, as well gather any more information of interesting happenings. She knows sailors from Eurus have been showing up in Eurus as of late, some of which who have decided to make Arvum their home rather than return to the volatile danger that awaits them back across the Sea of Leviathan.

Keeping her own memories of what caused her to leave Eurus as abruptly as she did, Katarina is going to attempt to forge a network along the ports Eurusi sailors are most likely to visit between Arx and choice destinations in the Mourning Isles. Through these networks, she puts out quiet messages that safe haven awaits them in Arx should they seek it. They need only find those who work with Katarina Al'Sabbat-Muraq in the harbors of Arx and mention, "The Scorpion is never mighter than the dragon". From there, room and board will be provided. Jobs, too. Such charity always comes at a price, but one any can afford to pay: information from back home on what's been going on.

Action by Sasha

Marquessa Sasha Cirroch is well-versed with the language of Eurusi, something in which she's kept up her practice in with frequent conversations with Katarina. After hearing of the rumors of terrible & wretched things happening, she can empathize with sailors who would rather take a risk of starting a new life on a continent as backwards and strange as they come rather than returning to the dangerous lands of Eurus. Gifted with words, she discreetly employs those trustworthy to spread word on hers and the Princess' behalf of the port of Arx being a potential safe haven for the travel weary of Eurus. And when they come, it's with care that she arranges meetings to speak with them and learn of their story, putting them up in the care of hostels, inns, and other establishments as long as they need with her cousin to ensure their safety. All she asks in return is, again, to simply know their story and all they have to tell.

Action by Merek

Merek will not be able to directly visit the Eurusi folk, as he is assisting with other things back in Arx. He will privately be assisting through a middleman he trusts, to write letters within the language to the proper sailors, provide some funding towards bettering their lives in Arvum to supplement what Kat is doing. He has no personal desire to gain information from them, but he wishes to better their lives, which might turn to assist Katarina in gaining what she seeks from it.

Result

There's rumors, though no hard information. Some of the Eurusi claim that the Dune Emperor has it all, that every Dune Kingdom has fallen. Others insist that at least some hold out, while others say that's a misunderstanding, that a few of the Dune Kingdoms have rebelled, and he can't seem to keep them all under control, and that it's a four way war between different kingdoms. Most agree that the Prophet of the Sands, the head of the Magisters of the Mirror fought the Dune Emperor, but has now thrown in his lot with him. Some claim that tens of thousands of prisoners are being escorted across the sands to blackened Pyre, for execution or who knows what.
