What's the Big Deal?

As Compact lands expand and the defenses around this new-to-the-Crown property of the Lodge of Petrichor settle into place, more factions now highlight the importance of the Lodge to the Compact.
Princess Isabeau Valardin, along with Marquessa Cambria and Marquis Hadrian, work hard at emphasizing that very point. They note how beneficial the Lodge has been to the people of the Compact over the last several years. How it has provided refuge, a place for people to learn about the lands and the animals that traverse it. How it has been a place for communion with Petrichor. How shamans too find solace in the grove of ancient trees north of the Lodge. How it has been a staging point for the Compact forces as well. With each word dropped they emphasize how important this Lodge is, and how much a part of Arx and its people it truly is, and so even if the people aren't entirely sure why the Lodge needs to be defended, even the average person starts to think it's smart to protect such a valuable place.
When Legates Bianca and Cassandra join forces to host a prayer service, this message is emphasized. This Lodge is important to Petrichor and to the Gods. It is a place, they are reminded, blessed by the now-Dominus Orazio. A place sanctified and holy to Petrichor. They should hold it in high esteem, and those who move to defend it are working to serve the Gods.
And so now as leaders mobilize their forces, they find more volunteers to run shifts of defense on the Lodge. Some accept it as regular duties. Others volunteer their spare time. Lord Michael Bisland works especially to encourage his people to serve, with good success - it seems that the son of Duke Gabriel takes his responsibilities seriously particularly with regard to the Gray Forest. None Greater Than Grayson, as it were, and House Bisland takes the lead in encouraging their soldiers to take regular shifts at this new place to protect.
All, it seems, is in place now and ready for whatever may come, and the shifts of defense at the Lodge are steady as the various forces around the Compact settle into an expanded routine.
