The Trouble With Lying About Thugs...

Word gets around the Lowers that some kid has been going around, claiming that thugs gave him a thrashing. It's bad enough to lie to about a beating, but then to say that reading the white journal of a godsworn priestess was the thing that caused it? First off, who in the Lowers really has time to sift through the journals, looking for something to get mad about? Second, lying about it is enough to make some -real- thugs want to deliver a -real- beating. Most of the populace of the Lowers just feels bad that sweet Sister Juniper, who has shown nothing but kindness to them, is getting pinned for something that never happened.
