They said it couldn't be done. Some of them said it SHOULDN'T be done. But when has Velenosa looked at such claims as anything other than a challenge? A mysterious warehouse, a sudden demand for bugcatchers, and then for spinners and weavers of the strongest stomach, and then the rumors start, spread by fashion leaders such as Princess Berenice and Lady Tesha, and influential commoners like Apollo Oakwood and Alexio Donatti, and even the Crafters Guild, itself. Spidersilk. As light as a feather, incredibly strong. A cloth dismissed as imaginary, as impossible, turns out to be possible after all, and House Velenosa and House Tessere hold the secrets to its creation. The fashionistas of Arx drool (with grace and perfect manners) when the word is mentioned, and spidersilk is desperately desired by courtiers who would have laughed at the idea a month ago. But it's rumored that the cloth is too precious and limited for public market. Who knows what favors would have to be traded to the Southern Foxes to gain access to this treasure? Many in Arx are determined to find out, and Velenosa celebrates those who have given them the opportunity, none less than the Archduchess, herself.
