The Horrors of War

Word is slow to spread, but it seems that an entire squad of the Crimson Blades has met an extremely grisly end. Tobias brings them back for burial - what's left of them anyway. They're not in coffins so much as boxes and bags, and the rumor is that every single one of the dead was hacked into so many pieces.
He gives them honorable burials. Returning them to their families when he can. To Arx in graves provided by the Crimson Blade coffers when there's no family to find, or according to their wills. Mae does a beautiful ceremony for them as a group, mentioning with sorrow the horrors of war and praying for them to have a peaceful rest on the Wheel in the embrace of the Queen of Endings.
A wall is erected, with the names of those Crimson Blades fallen. There are a lot of names - the entirety of Ruby Company's bivouac on a single day. The wall is meant well, but among the Blades themselves there is murmuring. "Commander says they knew what they signed up for, but I signed up for fighting for pay, not getting killed in my sleep and dismembered while we're establishing a garrison. What the fuck."
Violet, the lone survivor of Ruby Company, starts training archers moved into her squad. She's training daily with them and working hard, but no one seems to be very happy about making another Ruby Company, and superstitions are running high right now. There are no new recruits to the Crimson Blades in this time, and the rest of the Blades look at the transferred archers of Ruby somewhat askance, and with no little pity. A betting pool is started on how long the restructured company lasts.
