Mum(mer's) the Word

The latest creation by Master Bastien is an unqualified success. 'Lush and extravagant,' one critic writes, 'This play will take you right into the heart of the Lyceum. And then stab you there.' It's a vision come to life and the entire host of the Black Rose Mummers seems to be involved. The writing by Bastien is witty. The direction by Baron Audric de Lire is outstanding. And also no monsters appeared at the play, so the security detail was clearly on point.
The costumes made by Aurora Thornburn were lush and gorgeous - and under budget! And with Mask Designs by Mae and Mask Creation by Valery, the whole production was beautifully presented.
The actors themselves though outshone even set designs and sparkling costumes - Calandra Whisper outdid herself as Procella Pravus, and Yasmine Rovashani took a turn as Caterina. With Itzal Culler as the Prodigal, the Mummer who played Onyx Thricesworn was overheard to say glumly, "I knew they'd misspell my name in the flyer. I'll never be famous anyway." He is known, however, for his method acting - even if his name escapes at the moment.
Overall it is a crushing success, and far and wide people flock to see the new play.
