Aethan is a man of bottled emotions and inner demons all contained within a rigidly honorable casing. He's affectionate towards those he cares about, although that affection is expressed with a cutting, sarcastic sense of humor. He would be a wonderful character for someone who wants to dive into intense, character-driven RP, someone who wants to go to a deeper, more nuanced place than casual barroom RP allows. He would also be a wonderful character for someone who wants to explore themes of the weight of responsibility, because Aethan is one of the Compact's most inspiring leaders, and will be called upon to lead many times over the course of his story. A player willing to take him on and embrace his twists and turns will have no shortage cool scenes to play through and things to do.
But I'm not going to candy coat it. Aethan is also a lot to take on. He's the Duke-Regent of a powerful house in the center of the ongoing mess in the Isles who will be called upon to take an active role in that part of the metaplot. He's an old character who has seen a lot of play, which means a lot of reading material to catch up on all of the various ongoing plots and storylines he's involved with, and a lot of old friends who will want his attention. Kennex has a number of people who are ready to give his player all the support needed to get situated, but it's still diving into the deep end without a life jacket.
