The Sword of Sanctum

This is an announcement I have put off for far too long. I have selfishly hoped that given some time he would change his mind.
Sir Roland, after a long period of soul searching has asked to resign from his post as the Sword of Sanctum. He believes that his destiny calls him to the road. To the quest and to the errantry of knighthood. I could see that burning desire in his eyes that roaming Arvum going where ever a Knight is needed most struck him to his very soul. It's a call and desire that I know to well, and a dream I know haunts those that have it and so I granted his release from his obligation. Sir Roland's service as the Sword of Sanctum was of flawsless dedication and effortless integrity. Honor and courage and strength are the things he is made off. He leaves big shoes to fill but rest easy know that as long as he is out there, prayers for a dragon when things seem darkest will not go unanswered.
The Champion of the West, Princess Alis Valardin will be the caretaker of Oathbinder as we begin the search for a new Sword of Sanctum. To those that would seek the honor know, not only that you have a great shadow to fill, but that the weight of carrying the sword once wielded by Dame Sugan, greatest of Paladins is heavy indeed, but whoever prooves to be up to the task, I look forward to singing songs of your deeds one day.
Steel Bends! Honor Holds!

Kennex thanks Sir Roland on his service and wishes him the best for the future. We are, likewise, delighted to hear that Oathbinder is in such capable hands as the Princess Alis. May she prosper and embody the ideals and values of her post. Congratulations to House Valardin!

I, Count Philippe, am a bit disappointed with Sir Roland but I understand the need to ride again and will only wish him the best.
