In Response to Bliss Whisper
Posted by Ansel on 10/13/18
To All,
With regards to the claims made by Bliss Whisper:
No manner of apology nor offer of condolences will fully suffice to repay the wrongs dealt by Everard. House Telmar, as before, continues to vehemently condemn the actions of the traitor that Everard became. Condemned by all as a traitor, his actions do not represent the Telmarch, the Oathlands, nor the brave men and women of the Iron Guard. His duplicitous actions were vile, dishonorable, and solely of his own doing.
When Bliss Whisper learned of my engagement to the Princess Isabeau, it was then that she decided to make known her plans for righting Everard's wrongs:
She proposed that I give her the Telmarch's heirloom Sword, Vowkeeper.
She proposed that I break my engagement to the Princess Isabeau, and marry her instead.
She proposed that I sever all ties with House Telmar and House Valardin, and stand up a new cadet House with her as Sword.
Explaining the impossibilities of these demands, I and House Telmarch offered her a series of responses:
We offered to take her in to House Telmar and give her the opportunity to earn the title of Sword -- this was rejected.
We offered to arrange for the forging and naming of a new heirloom weapon for her -- this, also, was rejected.
We offered to make a donation to Gloria matching the price of the weapon, and once more speak out publicly to condemn Everard -- this, too, was rejected.
We contracted Duchess Nicia Laurent to serve as an impartial negotiator and seek terms of reconciliation with Bliss Whisper -- her efforts, as the others, were rejected.
The friendship that House Telmar once shared with Bliss Whisper has crumbled amidst bitter attempts to leverage past slights into personal gain.
We have made countless attempts at resolving these issues -- all efforts at reasonable resolution have been met only with denial, accusation, and rejection. It is immediately clear to us that the Whisper's goal is no longer righting the traitor's wrongs, but rather her own personal gain.
On behalf of all those who fell victim to Everard's treachery, we offer an apology that your sorrow has been leveraged to advance selfish ends. We now call on House Whisper to answer for the behavior of their leading Voice, and to respond to the repeated offers of reconcilation that have been met only with angry, inflexible noise.
We look forward to continued faithful service to the Compact, and to the Oathlands.

Voice of House Telmar
Sword of the Telmarch
--- Valardin Stance (from Alis) ---
House Valardin stands fully behind Telmar's earnest attempts to right this wrong. We will match any funds used in the forging of a new sword for the aggreived party. Or, a donation to Gloria.
--- Sanna Stance (from Cirroch) ---
Obviously no house would give up their House Sword. To give up their Sword would bring disgrace to a house, especially if it was lost in a duel to a commoner rather then in war. The Whisper should understand this and accept compensation.
--- Halfshav Stance (from Khanne) ---
Having heard the proclamations of both parties, House Halfshav stands beside their allies, The Telmarch, in this matter inconceivably brought forth by Bliss Whisper.
--- Amadeo Stance (from Duarte) ---
Attempts to alloy our fondness for Bliss Whisper are unnecessary. I am happy resolution is sought, but public pronouncement of how the House now feels somehow slighted by the aggrieved seems strained.
--- Redtyde Stance (from Rosalie) ---
Redtyde stands with House Telmar in its defense of Vowkeeper.
