To the People and the Peers of the Compact

As Duke, the inheritance and duty of governorship falls squarely into my lap and I have found myself honor bound to accept this weighty matter not only out of responsibility, but also to fulfill my duty to our Realm; though to tell the truth I had never thought the task would fall to me.
To my Noble Peers of the Realm, both those under my lawful purview, my neighbors and Our Liege the King, I promise to uphold the rules and rights that have brought such prosperity and stability to our Realm.
To the good people of the moneyed classes, any merchant living within Graypeak’s domains, I recognize your struggle and fears. It is my intention to, in consultation with those affected, ensure that trade and prosperity is continued and increased in all the lands to which I hold title by the whim of Duke Gregor – and by the grace of the gods. You can rest assured in the peace and prosperity to which you desire.
To the oft forgotten of us, the simple man and woman of the realm who harvests our grain and bakes our bread and provides the backbone to our Realm itself, I have not forgotten you nor your plights. Under my Rule we shall have fair governance, food and joy will be had in all the hearths that call me Lord. Trust that together we shall forge our better time and place, here and now, for you to pass down to your children’s grandchildren one day.
As we all stand together and feel the flames of Lagoma's change licking at our heels – and through the dedication of Limerance's righteousness -- you all have my solemn vow: The Shepherds will remain true.
