The Faith and the Shaman
Posted by Orazio on 03/29/19
In light of the Petrichoran Heresy and after discussion in a Convocation of the Faith, there seems to be a widespread desire for clarification of the Faith's position on shaman.
The Faith of the Pantheon, and indeed the Gods, do not in any way spurn or censure those Faithful of the Northlands who choose to openly follow a path of shamanism. Indeed we have seen time and again those Faithful fight for what is right. To preserve the innocent. To defend the weak. We have seen them act in service to Petrichor. We have seen them follow the dictates of Gloria in times of war, and Gild in times of peace. They heed the laws of Limerance and they burn with a desire for the same justice that is the hallmark of the Sentinel. They sail and make offerings to Mangata. They create art and give praise to Jayus. Indeed, many who follow the path of the shaman have been and continue to be Faithful followers of the Pantheon, and they are welcome among us.
The only thing they cannot do is swear their service to the Gods, as both Disciples and Godsworn. This is not to say they are not welcome among the Faithful, but rather because those who serve the Gods must do so with a whole heart. Particularly among the Godsworn, we would not accept those who have marriage vows, or make any other vows that might conflict with their duty to the Gods. Even among Disciples this is important - for Disciples are the caretakers and stewards of the shrines and the Gods. When Disciples and Godsworn allow their hearts to be divided we find such heresies as the so-called Petrichoran Heresy born - and this is no true service to the Gods.
Make no mistake. Those who follow the path of the shaman are welcome to come and worship the Gods. They too can be Faithful, and there is room for them among us and we welcome them. Those who claim otherwise are seeking to be argumentative to the point of heresy, and we direct all Faithful to shun those who would lead them down such a path. For we do not turn away those who wish to make room for the Pantheon in their lives. We accept those who seek to serve the Gods in conjunction with a clear understanding of the Faith. We are servants of the Gods, and our highest calling is to Their will and service, and to help those who would follow Them do so in a way that pleases Them.
In Faith,
Dominus Orazio

All true Templars stand behind the Dominus, filled with sorrow at the misteps of our brothers and sisters in supporting the Seraph of Fireside, and with love always to true children of the Faith in the north, whatever their view on shamanism.
--- Spirit Walkers Stance (from Khanne) ---
We thank Dominus Orazio and others within The Faith for their continued understanding and support of us practicing our beliefs in the Gods and Spirits both. May those who are misguided find their ways back to the proper paths quickly.

May the words of the Dominus be a beacon to guide the misguided back into the Light. For where the Light of the Faith goes, Keaton shall follow.
