On The Living Conditions for Indentured Servants as the practice is phased out of Grimhall Holdings.
*Debt holders who use thralls as labor will provide them with appropriate sleeping arrangements which allow for comfort, privacy, and rest between work sessions.
*Debt holders who use thralls as labor will provide them with high quality provisions appropriate to their physical demands, age, health, and strength.
*Debt holders who use thralls as labor must provide thralls with either outdoor or indoor leisure time of no less than three hours per day.
*Debt holders who use thralls as labor must provide thralls with appropriate clothing for their required tasks.
*Debt holders who use thralls as labor must provide thralls with time to sleep for no less than six hours per night.
*Debt holders must provide thralls with adequate medical care including visits from a healer at least twice per year.
*The costs of -none- of these living condition requirements is to be added to the thralls debt or result in punishment of any kind.
*Inspectors will be appointed by the local magistrates of Grimhall holdings who will visit to examine adherence to these laws. Those who are caught in defiance of them are subject to the justice of House Grimhall.
Goals for new Freedmen by the end of the year 1010 AR
*House Grimhall pledges a heavy investment in infrastructure in order to provide affordable housing across the Isle of Grihem’s Point, as well as creches for children born into thralldom and without families to return to.
*During the rest of year 1010 AR, most thralls whose debts are held by House Grimhall itself will be put to the task of creating this infrastructure. At the end of the year, those thralls who worked on building housing will be Freedman and the first to occupy said housing. Any former thralls who wish to continue to serve House Grimhall on construction tasks will be hired and paid fair wage.
*By choosing first to set its own thralls free rather than those bound by other debt-holders, House Grimhall intends to allow their citizens more time to adapt to these changes before they impact them directly.
