Duke Arn Telmar
Posted by Alis on 08/11/19
Arn has ever been known as a difficult man. Difficult to please, difficult to know, difficult to understand. And, difficult to defeat. I am certain at times his enemies wondered if he lived through unimaginable things just to spite them. And no doubt in part they were right. He was our father's most loyal ally, and continued that unflinching loyalty to Prince Edain when he became Highlord.
So when his last surviving friend, Count Frederik Steelhart fell with the holding of Highhill, it was no surprise that he wished to lead a response. And in doing so, an honorable man, Duke Arn of the Telmarch has been lost to us. House Valardin declares itself in mourning alongside House Telmar during this time, for both the Duke and our own fallen. And in honor of Duke Arn's service, sacrifice, and decades of loyalty we exempt Telmar from taxation for a thirteen month period of mourning.
Our heart is with? his family during this difficult time.

Though Arn was a hard man, he was also a good one. His honesty and integrity are without doubt. The world has grown a little dimmer without him. May his next turn bring him joy. And may we all learn from his example.
