The Book Auction

While I have tried not to speak out too much about such things. I feel this one allows me to find the best way. The written word is beautiful and it's tragic. There is a power in knowledge, an artform to dreams, and an escape in fiction. It causes amusement in times of turmoil. It causes tears when one needs a release. It can be frustrating. It can be empowering. It can be devestating. It can be world building.
I am nothing but a Lady and speak with no authority. Your paths and your options are but your own. The Gods place us upon paths, but every day and every hour we make choices how we act on those paths. Do we react in anger? Do we react in love? We must stand behind the choices we make and the choices we conceal. I honor everyone their right to those thoughts, those dreams, those goals, and honor the path one walks.
I have been asked a lot what I was to do at this auction. So, while I will not state the winner, for that is their knowledge to have. I will state where the funds have gone.
They have gone to the Crafter's Guild for the inspiration that their hands craft and create for us on a daily basis. They protect us, they adorn us, and they offer things from their own hearts. A little piece of them that is forever given to us. The have gone to the Faith of the Pantheon. Let the oaths and the love be honored. Let us help and spread this faith where we can and how we can. Speak of our divine and feel blessed for the divine that protect us. They have gone to the Scholars. We /must/ preserve the words we are given; even if they are flights of fancy or tomes of knowledge. We must protect the words we can freely give. We must honor them. We must do what we can that stories, legends, and information are never forgotten. They went to the Refugee. I feel that our borders should be less about walls and more about welcome. That we open our homes to those displaced and that we support them as we can. The rest of the funds have gone to a group that serves to protect, but all the funds were donated.
I know there are many of you that do not care on such a small manner as one book. I thank you for hearing the comments of one lone lady of no regard on this matter. However, words can strike harder than a sword. I ask of you that as of today, the books stop. I do not ask they be destroyed. I do not ask that they are not shared, but that no more are crafted. Let the story move on. Let the fiction move on. Let us focus on something more than a mere book. This is, of course, your choice. Thank you for listening to my words.
--- Laurent Stance via Cristoph ---
Honestly, I just want to collect the extra copies to fulfill the terms of my lost duel. Won't anyone think of the duel?
--- Seryn Stance via Iseulet ---
You can have it when I've finished.
--- Blackram Stance via Teagan ---
Blackram has need, if temporarily, of this book. It's very important.
--- Harlequins Stance via Hamish ---
This feels like one of those things where someone encourages a reaction just so they can shame people for that reaction. Those things are awful.
--- Champagne Stance via Yasmine ---
This has to be the most legendary marketing strategy for a book known to date. House Champagne, of course, approves.
--- Lodge of Petrichor Stance via Brigida ---
I am finding the book to be a delightful read that has made me chuckle to no end. Something to pass the time during the winter months before the fire.
--- Templars Stance via Preston ---
I literally have no idea what this book is. But donation is to be welcomed, for it helps in the holy work.
--- Crovane Stance via Clara ---
Crovane would like to thank Lady Esme for her upstanding character shown through charity.
--- Acheron Stance via Rhea ---
Thoughts and prayers.
--- Malvici Stance via Eirene ---
We are glad the Crafter's Guild will benefit from all this. When a new book about tactics or strategy becomes available, let us know.
