Continuity of the Faith
Posted by Preston on 11/12/20
To protect the Faith I have ordered the Templars to increase our numbers guarding the Shrines, the Archive, the Rectory and all our holy places and people. In this I hope the Crown is understanding of the need for increased caution and steel. The brothers and sisters of the Templars who died in this attack will be mourned, but they will have died knowing their prayers fulfilled - that their honour held to the last. We will not though allow the actions of these small people to alter our practices or place distance between ourselves and the Faithful. The Most Holy would tell each and all - the Faith is greater than one person, even the Dominus, and will endure as a bastion of our beliefs long after we are all at the wheel.
The duty of my office is to do what is necessary to defeat the existential threat to the Faith. The Eurusi and their allies, those loyal to the Apostate Ivan, are those enemies. And this tragic attack is a sad reminder of the wisdom of the Most Holy and the Faith in seeing that. We cannot afford even the temporary withdrawal to consider the new Dominus, nor is it right that our decision is rushed because of these heretics and their continued apostasty. Equally with 4 Legates there must be one among equals to break any deadlocks. It is necessary to defeat the Eurusi that one is raised to the office even in a temporary measure until the Legates and Archlectors can meet in Convocation and consider who shall lead us forward.
I therefore, as Carnifex of the Faith, name Father Aureth Grayhope as Dominus-Regent, to hold that office and guide the faith and take our obedience until such time as the Convocation of the Legates and Archlectors can meet safely and consider this.
For those behind this - for I am not stupid and know large numbers of armed people do not simply emerge without support - do not worry. You are not forgotten. Myself or one of my siblings will be with you soon, and we will be there at your end.
By my hand, the fifteenth day of the fifth month, 1014 years After the Reckoning.

May we all feel the comfort of Lagoma's embrace during this troubled time. Our Mercies are ready to help our brothers and sisters in need, and hold the Dominus-Regent in our prayers.
