Margot's Fall

It seems that the treachery of the former Duke-Consort Dagon Tyde knows no limits. Attackers unknown made their way into Tyde Tower just before or during the Assembly of Peers and killed Duchess Margot Tyde, and her children are gone. All signs indicate the attacker was known and trusted to those in the Tower. All signs point to Dagon Tyde. A man who claims tradition, yet foreswears his oaths to attack a woman in her bed - what brave and mighty heroes we face, dear loyal islanders.
When I came to the city with my sister, Margot was the only other Tyde we had. Under her care our number has grown. And under her care Tyde no longer stands where a single stroke can end us. With her death and the stealing away of her children, I reluctantly take on the mantle of Duke of Tyde Hall.
Like the waves, we fall and we rise. Like the waves, we continue on relentless. Duchess Margot would have demanded no less of each of us than this, and would tell us not to let grief at her death stand in the way of justice for Tyde.
