On the Checkpoints

Though the guard checkpoints are annoying to most and an unwelcome imposition to some among the peerage, the Crown Court would like to remind the citizens of Arvum that the Central, Crown, Lower, and Upper wards of the City are the sovereign domain of His Majesty King Alaric and are his to do with as he pleases.
Due to the complexity of administering a city of this size, the King has delegated authority to the Crown Ministers, who delegate further to the officers of their ministry. The Ministers act with the King's authority and at his pleasure to secure and rule the city. At this time the Iron Guard under Baron Silas believes it necessary to post checkpoints and it is in his authority to do so.
The Iron Guard and Inquisition have methods of lodging complaints with their leadership and their Minister. If any Peer or Subject feels that the complaint process did not adequately resolve their compaint, they may petition the Crown Court for a redress of grievances and a magistrate will investigate further.
