The Fate of Messere Martello
Posted by Jaenelle on 06/25/23
Recently there was an issue with one of the larger vineyards beneath House Velenosa's oversight which caused minor delays in the production of Lenosia Red. I wished to publicly thank Prince Patrizio Pravus, Lady Medeia Saik, Lord Cillian Blackwood, Lord Grady Deepwood, and Lady Eirene Riven for traveling to Lenosia to investigate the matter, and successfully finding the answers which were needed.
As for the arsonist, I have reflected not upon the actions which lead to the fire but his reactions after it and the lies he told to save himself without thought of the effects his actions had on others. It is with this in mind I issue the following sentence:
Messere Martello you are hereby ordered to to witness exactly what damage your foolish actions may have caused to those around you. You will work no less than a year with each step in the process; from the farmers who tend to the land and vines you so carelessly ruined, to the coopers who make the wooden barrels the wine matures within, to the vintner's who perfect and balance the finished product. You will work with those who export the wine to their destinations, and the merchants who sell them. You will see that the world is so much larger than the small part that you live within, and hopefully you will learn to appreciate that your actions have the power to affect so many more than only yourself.
Archduchess Jaenelle Velenosa
--- Saik Stance via Medeia ---
House Saik and our farmers, vintners, and merchants are prepared to provide support to Lenosia and a path to follow toward penance, should Messere Martello have need.
--- Deepwood Stance via Grady ---
House Deepwood commends the wisdom of Archduchess Jaenelle for, rather than choosing to inflict upon her subject the pain of raw punishment, instead choosing to grant the opportunity that comes from a lesson hard learned.
