The Defenders of Bastion

[[Around Arx, the names of the many who died defending Bastion are read. Each herald reads a selection and then gives a few details about that person. There are thousands.]]
Claude of Deepwood was a carpenter. He made furniture, carvings and toys. He was brave. He mattered. His stand was not in vain; he brought us closer to a world in which a person might be a carpenter and live in peace. We hope he will see his family again. Remember him.
Gunther spent his last days helping people on the roads as a squire of Solace, until he came to Bastion. There, he stood until he simply could not anymore. He was a widower who dearly loved his wife. He ensured that such love could continue to exist for others. We hope that he shall see Sally again. Remember him.
[[The names continue. The heralds encourage others to share their own stories of the dead.]]
