Honoring Duke-Consort Titus Halfshav (Vaevici)
Posted by Khanne on 02/01/24
In the aftermath of all we have done, I still have difficulty finding words that feel even close to adequate to express... anything. But I shall make the attempt.
We who remain have all suffered tremendous losses; loss of family, friends, those we have loved, our homes, our domains so far away... the weight we all carry now is heavy, but we have survived to carry it. I am thankful for each and every one of you for fighting, for supporting, contributing in whatever way that you could, great or small, to help ensure we were victorious. I also want to honor the memory of all those who gave or lost their lives throughout this Reckoning. The list of names is immeasurably long and heart wrenching, but we who are left behind shall do our best to ensure that you are not forgotten, your death was not in vain, we will rebuild. We will grow again as a people, stronger than ever before.
When we were faced with not only our own mortality, but the thought that the entire world as we know it would end, we were able to stand side by side one another and put aside our differences, to fight together, to work together. Amidst all the heartache we feel, please allow yourself a moment to acknowledge just how special that is. We held out our hand to those we might have thought of as foes on another day. We took blows for others we didn't even know much about before that moment. We did not focus on whose beliefs and practices matched our own just on how we could put our talents to use as a whole to defeat Azazel. And we succeeded. It is my hope that we can continue to work together in this vein now as we recover and move forward. I honestly have never been so proud to be amongst all of you as I am today.
Of course, on a personal note, I also want to acknowledge the great sacrifice my husband, Duke-Consort Titus Halfshav (formerly Lord Vaevici), performed in the battle within Arx. He gave his life so that others might live. As a person who very much appreciated our collective histories and the stories that lie within, he gave his life to help make sure that more stories could be written. I want to thank him for that sacrifice, and for the time that we shared together, which was truly... priceless. As part of our marriage contract, his wish if he was to pass was to hve his remains returned to his homeland of Sangris, so that the Vaevici solemn traditions of funeral rites could be performed. He asked that the story of his life be told before his ancestors, Vellichor, and the Queen of Endings and Beginnings, while The Sentinel and Gloria account for both his wrongdoings and that he died with his unyielding honor intact. This wish will be granted and in time, a memorial will be constructed for him.
To honor our losses and forever hope for our futures,
Duchess Khanne Halfshav

Titus will be honoured by all in the Saffron Chain. His loyalty to his family never waivered. He was brave and faced whatever came his way. He loved his home, people, culture, and shared that with everyone. He will be remembered as a hero and with love in our hearts.

House Pravus mourns with House Halfshav the passing of Duke-Consort, the Warmonger, whose remarkable gift for weaving words shined as bright as his devotion to his people and bravery in battle. May his example and memory live on in the stories now shared by others.
