Statement on the Canon of the Faith

(OOC: These words are proclaimed in Judgement Square by priests of Limerance, Gild, and the Sentinel, and posted in shrines throughout the city, as well as the Great Cathedral.)

Being a Statement on the Canon of the Faith, the Words of the Gods, and the Truth of the Pantheon:

There are Thirteen true gods, which we venerate with our hearts, our minds, and our souls. There is no canon in the Faith that speaks of 'reflections' of the true gods, and were such a thing to exist, it would not be of the Faith to respect, worship, or hold in esteem such things. There would be no strength found there, and no hope. Instead, these would be the embodiment of all our worst impulses as a nation and as human beings, and deserve nothing but struggle and resistance. The worship of the Thirteenth is a valued part of our cultural heritage, and the Faith would not see such worship disparaged. However, there is one - and only one - Reflection which holds a place of honor in the Pantheon, and that will remain the case.

Those who speak otherwise do not speak with the mouth of the Faith. Faithful men and women of the Compact, turn your eyes to the true gods, seek their wisdom and their approval, and do not be swayed by passionate words unsupported by dogma or scripture. As always, the Faith of the Pantheon is here to provide guidance and strength for all of the faithful.

By my hand and authority,

Father Orazio, Legate of Concepts, Shield of the Faith
