Crown Proclamation
Posted by Darren on 01/18/17
On this the 10th day of the 9th month in the 1005th year after the Reckoning,
The Regent Council met with Lorelai and Norever of the Twilight Court for purposes of negotiation. At that time, Lorelai, Voice of King Calithex, informed the Regent Council of a slight against herself, and therefore against King Calithex, and refused negotiations until the slight was handled. It was brought to mine and the Regent Council's attention that my cousin, Prince Anze Redrain, sent a message to Lorelai that she took as a threat against her life. She demanded that he pay for this slight in blood, by either chopping off specific parts of himself or dueling to the death.
Despite our attempts at reasonable negotiations, to include a duel to first blood or surrender as is our custom, the Nox'alfar refused and demanded payment in blood. Prince Anze was summoned to explain himself, wherein he indicated that he was attempting to follow the Nox'alfar's customs that they have proclaimed and was misunderstood. The explanation was not accepted by the Nox'alfar, and when the Regent Council denied the Nox'alfar's attempt for more blood, they proceeded to mock us with claims that we had already paid the Teind and therefore they were protected from the Bringers for thirteen times thirteen years, and no longer needed our assistance. After, the Nox'alfar used magic to summon themselves out of the Council Chambers. The last information we were given is that our people are no longer allowed in their realm and we will be slaughtered should we attempt.
The Regent Council is firm in our decision to not give into the demands of the Nox'alfar. It was clear that they did not come to negotiate, and instead wished to find any reason to back out on negotiations. They received what they wanted - the Teind was paid, they are safe from the Bringers, and we must now put our eyes forward to the future.
We must unite to defeat the Bringers, who are now a threat to us. The Regent Council will continue to work towards a future where the Bringers are no more. Let it be known that the Nox'alfar are no friends of the Compact, and we will not give into demands for more blood to sate them.
By my hand,
Prince Darren, Highlord of Redrain
