To the Dominus

Dominus Fawkuhl,
The Regent Council has made their decision. My words to you now are my own, in response to your words against my people.
Shamanism in the North is a time honored belief. Northern Shamanism is sewn into the fabric of who we are, deeply rooted in our customs and culture. When Redrain bent the knee and folded into the Compact, no law existed which demanded we give up our faith and our culture, and no such law currently exists. Northern Shamans have stood beside those who worship the Faith of the Pantheon - in fact, many Northerners follow those Gods now. My people do not practice blood rites, nor do they perform magic which would break the Fourth Law of Limerance.
My people have done nothing to earn your blatant disrespect. My people have not done anything to earn your criticism of their culture, their faith, their ways. My people have broken no laws.
As such, I invite the Dominus to speak to my mother, Princess Drea Redrain, High Shaman, and learn about the Path of the Elders, a Shamanistic belief which is closely compatible to the Faith of the Pantheon. While I have never actually seen the Dominus outside of a single ceremony which I attended, I encourage him to walk out and be amongst my people - those same people he has branded heathens and savages - and listen to their stories. Take the time to learn and research Shamanism, from those who practice it still. I promise you that you will find not heathens, but people who love fiercely and are truly passionate about who we are and what we believe in.
Further, I invite those of the Faithful to come speak to the Shamans of the North before throwing stones upon my House and my people. If you have questions, let us answer. If you have concerns, let us soothe them. Respect us as you would have us respect you.
Should the Dominus do what I ask, and wish to continue to call us heathens after, then it is a name we will wear with pride. We will not give up who we are. We will not be bullied into submission. We will not dismiss our culture and our ways, nor will we have our ways and our culture dismissed.
We are the North. To the last.
Prince Darren, Highlord of Redrain
