Heard and Witnessed

As Legate of Concepts, I witness and support the observations of the honored Archlector of the Sentinel, Blessed Avary. It is enshrined in our rights that any honorable person may, if they have standing to experience a slight upon that honor, may challenge the cause of that slight to a duel. In this particular case, one might argue Duke Fidante's standing, as he was not excommunicated, nor is he the Voice of Velenosa. However, after consulting with the writings and priesthood of Limerance on the bonds of betrothal and matrimony, I am prepared to say that - as the betrothed of one who has been excommunicated - if Duke Leo feels that this was done in grave error and is a grievous insult, and is willing to put his life on the line for that belief, he has standing in the eyes of Limerance to request redress.
As such, by the auspices of Limerance and the Sentinel, I declare the duel valid, and furthermore, support the Voice of the Sentinel's willingness to oversee and judge the duel. Let the Sentinel judge the righteous.
By my hand and authority,
Father Orazio, Legate of Concepts, Shield of the Faith
