New Lord Commander

Dayne Valardin was a man universally admired, not only for his martial skill (which was paramount), but his honor and devotion to his duty. He inspired a Thraxian princess to turn her back on everything she'd ever known, and follow the dream of someday being a Knight half so worthy of respect.
I never expected him to die so soon. Perhaps I never expected him to die at all. He seemed beyond such concerns; such possibilities. Dayne kept me as his protege because he knew I had the most to learn - not because he thought I was ready to lead the King's Own in his absence. He was a strong, honorable man of the Oathlands, and I trusted his judgment. Who could have done otherwise?
In this time of turmoil, what the people need is stability and reassurance - reassurance that the Silver Swords are here to protect their king, and their way of life. What they need is not a former princess of Thrax, but a strong, honorable Knight of the Oathlands.
I have decided to step down as Lord Commander, and pass the mantle and burden of office to Sir Rymarr of Lyonesse. I will remain with the King's Own, as is my sworn duty, and will continue to give my all in service to, and defense of, the Crown.
By my hand and authority as Lord Commander of the King's Own
