On Prince Anze Redrain
Posted by Darren on 06/21/17
One year ago, my cousin, Prince Anze Redrain, broke guest right in the City of Arx. At that time, I levied a punishment and he set forth on a path of penance to pay for his wrongdoings. Today, on the year anniversary of that moment, I am releasing Prince Anze from his penance.
There is no question that what Prince Anze did was wrong and careless. But my cousin has spent the past year doing all that he can to not only meet but exceed the tasks set before him. He did not lift his sword except for defense of House and home, and when he did raise up his sword, it was in defense of the entire Compact as he set forth to battle the Bringers of Silence that plagued our city during the siege. He did not simply work with the Faith, but helped thousands of refugees find new homes and work. He has done all that he can and more to prove himself, to prove that he is better than the self he presented. I ask now, that the Compact look to my cousin for the man he is now, and not cast shadow upon him for the man he was then.
In one final act, I will be donating one full year of my cousin's foregone salary, totaling 100,000 silver, to the Faith of the Pantheon in Prince Anze's name. It is my hope that the Faith can utilize this silver in continuing to spread their message of charity and hospitality to those in the City of Arx and beyond.
Prince Anze, your penance is over. May the Gods and Spirits both guide you forward and into the future.
By my hand,
Prince Darren, Highlord of Redrain
--- Faith of the Pantheon Stance ---
The Faith appreciates Prince Darren's generosity, and his willingness to see through penance for the breaking of Gild's guest right.
