An Apology
Posted by Lark on 11/21/17
It is not often that the need for a Great House to apologize arises, yet we are not immune to it. Today, we extend such words to Lady Regla and House Navegant. In our desire to protect our merchant fleet from the realities and implications of Countess Arcelia's proclamation, we implemented a trade ban that resulted in direct harm to your House, regardless of our intent to merely serve our people as best we are able. For that, we are sorry. We apologize for not seeking redress privately, for not attempting a solution that would come without a cost to your financial well-being.
While nothing happens within a vacuum, the ripples of my words can and does reverberate deeply within me, reminding me that my position comes with a weight of responsibility to every man and woman, not just within my realm but within all realms. House Grayson seeks to sincerely work with every man and woman in this Compact, from the simplest shepherd to the highest lord, to seek a future where none may threaten our great nation. We are all the steel that defends Arvum; our blood runs deep from the Lyceum to the Mourning Isles, to the coldest North and most steadfast fort of the Oathlands. One people, defined by our kinship, friendship, and history, against a common enemy.
To those that watch, we will let nothing tear us asunder.
By my hand,
Crown Princess Lark Grayson
Princess of Bastion
High Lady of the Crownlands

There is no greater courage than that which it takes to offer a sincere apology.
