2 House Wyrmguard Guards arrives, following Desiree.
5 House Mazetti Guardians, Luigi, Mario arrive, following Hadrian.
Maxene, Pellinor, 4 Thrax Guards, Honey Snuggle, a Velenosian Angora cat arrive, following Alarissa.
3 Thrax Guards, Freja the long suffering, Dame Cupcake, the most elegant, Behemo, a towering man with humble eyes, 2 Thrax Elite Guards arrive, following Coraline.
Fredrik opens his arms wide as the people filter in to the outer courtyard, the gracious host becoming them in with a smile warm and inviting. "Family! Friends! It's a pleasure to see you all again, even if it's only been an hour or two, in some cases. Please, take a seat, avail yourselves of this fine food and drink, and get settled in. All are welcome and safe under my roof. Well..Lack of roof, in this case." He glances up toward the sky above most of the courtyard and grins.
"First and foremost, I would like to open the floor to new business! We all know, or I think most of us do, of the projects forthcoming for RedTyde, so I welcome anything new anyone wishes to introduce, anything to place upon this table, fabulous as it is! So enjoy yourselves!"
In comes Cora with a little girl hand in hand, the little girl is cheerfully giving a very amused Cora a tour of everything in sight, some of the stories are improbable at best. "And thats where tha giant wrecked our tower. It wasn't fair, we spent forEVER buildin it too." Says the little girl pouting at the destruction of the tower, but she bounces back to cheerful quickly, "Well I am sure Kes will be here and the two of you can plan your next tower no doubt," But Avery feels this conversation is so five seconds ago and is off on another story.
Fredrik has joined the A large, circular gazebo.
Alarissa's making her way in, a glance t o those present and a smile for them. Though she doesn't go out of her way at the moment to greet. There's dips of her head for Fredrik and Rosalie direct and she seems to be hunting a place to sit.
Regla is doing what she can to attempt to act as a hostess alongside Fredrik. For those that have never seen her in a dress, tonight no doubt will mark something of an occasion to see the young sword and commander without any visible weapons and in said dress. All present will get a greeting, and she'll move to take a seat nearest to Fredrik remaining quiet as the floor opens to buisness.
Alarissa has joined the A large, circular gazebo.
Regla has joined the A large, circular gazebo.
Coraline has joined the A large, circular gazebo.
Alexandre and Rosalie have arrived hand in hand from the western hallway that holds all the family's rooms. Roslie has her head tilted to hear something Alexandre is whispering to her, blushing and then giggling and smiling brightly up at her fiance. "No, you can't go get your armor. No armor at the dinner table, Alex, we talked about this." Wearing a gorgeous silk dress inspired by mangata, a pretty folded fan dangling from one wrist, and a pair of matching slippers on her feet, Roslie looks ready to dance the night away! Or share a nice dinner with friends and family. Leading him to sit at the table, she offers a bright grin towards Alarissa and Coraline, "Your Highness! Cora! I'm so glad you both could attend! Have both of you met Lord Alexandre Wyrmguard?"
Zara is not late and has seen the courtyard before, but she does take her time to look around and smiles to those she knows. Of course she seems a little out of place as those black eyes take in the newest arrives and Coraline gets a dip of her chin as she passes. A small wrapped item is given to one of the servants and then she walks over towards Fredrik and the gathering in the Gazebo.
Zara has joined the A large, circular gazebo.
Desiree arrives looking confident. She looks around until she notices Alexandre. She smiles. "Cousin you're looking well. You'll have to introduce me to everyone. I'm hoping to meet your family to be." She studies Rosalie with a smile. "Your dress is beautiful."
Alas, the Oathlander is bereft of armor. Oh the woe! Instead, he is clad in mundane, for a noble, nondescript clothes. His platinum hair is let loose, reaching his shoulders, clear from his face, allowing his black eyes to peer curiously at those greeted by Rosalie. "Princess Coraline and I have already met, yes. Weren't you there too?" he asks, before bowing gallantly to Coraline. "A pleasure to see you again, Your Highness. And you, Your Highness." he says to Alarissa, bowing again. Yet soon he's approached by his cousin, and he smiles to Desiree. "Of course! I'm glad you were able to make it. Lady Rosalie, Princess Coraline Thrax, Princess Alarissa Thrax, it's my pleasure to introduce my cousin, Lady Desiree Wyrmguard."
With her little guide still chattering away, Cora sees the gazebo and heads that way, there are seats there. Arriving, she settles in a seat with a smile to Fredrik and Regla, "Thank you for hosting, it is lovely." And then there is a Rosalie and an Alexandre, "Rosa!" Cora stands again to hug her friend. "You look amazing, you both do. And yes we have met, he is a member of East Light, and a valued one at that. It is lovely to see you again Lord Alexandre." She leans in to softly say, "Avery is just super excited to see Kes, she loved spending the night the other night, apparently there were towers and giants." Avery is already tugging on Rosa's gown expecting her greeting." Zara is seen and Cora gives a very warm smile that way waving her over to join them. A grin goes to Alexandre's words and then she is being introduced! "It is a true pleasure Lady Desiree, I don't believe I have met too many Wyrmguards but Sorrel speaks very fondly of your family frequently, I am so glad to meet another."
Meanwhile Helia is wandering around with a glass of something white and definitely alcoholic in her hand. For the most part she's keeping an eye on the guards and servants, chatting with them cheerfully, all smiles and laughs. The same cheer is offered to every new guest, along with bows and greetings appropriate to their social rank. Prince Biscuit, on the other hand, is splashing around in the pool as happily as can be, swimming from side to side and ducking under the surface of the water like some weird furry duck-thing.
"Your Highness'! It's such a delight to see all of you! And of course, Lady Desiree, you all look stunning. Even you, Alexandre, even if I'd advise against armor at the table! The guards have everything handled, I assure you." He takes a bit of the rum himself, moving to gree all who arrive, especially Alarissa, Zara, and little Avery, of course. "Welcome welcome, please get comfortable! Any questions anyone has, please feel free to speak up! No standing on ceremony for the RedTyde. And where /is/ little Miss Kess, Rosalie? She's welcome too, obviously, she's part of this family too." He glances to the dog and sighs quietly as he mutters something about dog fur in the pool.
"Lord Alexandre." Alarissa smiles to the Wyrmguard, leaning up enough to press a kiss to Rosalie's cheek before sitting back down. "I am acquainted with the lovely Lady Wyrmguard. IT is a pleasure to see you again Lady Desiree." Fredrik's welcome gains another smile as well. "I come representing his grace and to show our support for Redtyde and their resumed status Count and our further commitment to seeing our vassals that rebuild, build as best that they can."
Rosalie offers a warm smile for Desiree and dips into a curtsy for her, righting herself and greeting her, "Lady Desiree, its wonderful to finally get to meet you. I'm hoping that we can sit down to finalize the marriage contract in the next few days. And of course, I'd love to introduce you!" Slipping her hand out of Alex's and instead motions towards Desiree, "This is my uncle, Count Fredrik Redtyde, and his adopted daughter, Helia." She leans in to accept the kiss from Alarissa, offering up a cheek kiss of her own with a smile, "Thank you so much for coming, Your Highness. I know your schedule id incredibly busy." Then there's an Avery! She reaches down to scoop the little girl up, airplaning her in a circle as she calls out to Coraline, "Kes will be along in just a moment! This being the first family dinner, she wanted to look -perfect-." This explanation goes for Fredrik as well, as she sets Avery back down and winks at her.
Boots. So many boots. Hadrian's arrival is at the head - by a number of paces - of a group of aides and guards, long legs outpacing the aptly nicknamed Ducklings. Is he late? Perhaps. Does he appear as though he spent plenty of time making himself pretty for the People. The former Duke pauses long enough for his entourage to catch up... only to dismiss them right back the way they had come. Luigi though, precious Luigi, he stays nearby. Hadrian whirls about in a flash of aeterna and umbra as he approaches the table. He pauses however in order to offer a polite bow toward Fredrik after Hadrian steps into the coverage of the gazebo. "Count RedTyde," he greets warmly as his posture shifts upright once again and a bright, charcoal-whitened smile flashes to life, "Might I be welcomed to join your table?" Of course it was an open invitation to such an affair, but appearances are crucial!
Mario have been dismissed.
5 House Mazetti Guardians have been dismissed.
1 Navegant Marines have been dismissed.
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Fredrik before departing.
Desiree smiles as she looks at the women "It is always a pleasure to see you Princess Alarissa." She gives a look to Coraline. "I don't often get a chance to visit with your family, but it is nice to meet you. My Cousin Sorrel is really amazing. We're all so proud of her." She nods to Fredrik before turning to Rosalie. She smiles politely. "It's so nice to meet you and your family. Also we really should. It's wonderful to see Alexandre so happy, and this marriage is good for both of our families."
Zara is greeted by Coraline first as she gets close enough, "A pleasure to see you again Princess Coraline.." She moves to greet Fredrik with that half smile of hers, "Thank you for inviting me, my family is pleased to offered RedTyde what it might so your rebuild stronger than ever.." She then turns those eyes to Alarissa and she gives a truly warm smile, "I has been forgiver, it is so good to see you here.." As she greets those she knows she slips into a seat next to Coraline as one seems to be open.
"Likewise, Your Highness." Alexandre tells Coraline. "And I look forward to proving worthy of such praise." he adds. With Desiree being taken care of by Rosalie, the man lets his attention wander, growing naturally quieter. There is a smile, however, when he hears Desiree mention his happiness. "The Gods blessed us in offering such a match." he remarks, before growing quiet anew. He seems to be content to remain so, a tranquil presence within the seas of greetings and welcomes. Not the most social of people, that Alexandre, at least not in large groups.
Zara." Alariisas grins, something only faintly touched by sorrow. "It -has- been forever." She stands to embrace the other woman, hold her close. "I don't get back over there near enough. It's good to see you here. Would that we had more princes willing to marry, I would drag. You into our family. How are you?"
"You are /always/ welcome at my table, Marquis," Fredrik assures Hadrian with a return smile and a laugh as he takes his own seat, done with the meet-and-greet as he lifts his glass. "And I'm not just being polite because a good percantage of the people here outrank me socially! A pleasure, a pleasure indeed. And my thanks to Lady Regla, for helping me to set the place up and enduring my company for the day. And really, dear Rosalie, we really must sit down and hammer out the last of those agreements so you can get married. This week, if possible." Because sure, noble weddings are that simple, right? "So many excellent faces, and most all of them were instrumental in there even /being/ a RedTyde House to host this event! We are indebted to you all, and your Houses."
Avery giggles at the airplaning and nods excitedly when she hears Kes will be out looking perfect. A look goes to Cora who laughs, "Yes we will get you something special for next time you come visit too. I didn't know it was making oneself perfect day or we would have before we came." This appeases the little girl and she begins introducing herself to EVERYONE, tugging on clothing to get their attention before saying solumnly, "I'm Avery." Then moving on to the next one. Cora keeps her eye on the girl before her attention goes to Rosalie and she grins, "I am so glad I could come, other than the pleasure of your and Alexandre's company of course I get to meet more of your family." Zara's sitting next to her gets a shoulder bump of friendly companionship before Alarissa is greeting the other princess, "Oh I think many of us would be thrilled to have her in the family, absolutely thrilled. Myself chief amongst them." To Desiree, Cora nods with a warm smile, "I would love to get to know you and yours better, perhaps tea?" she flags down some rum and happily settles into sipping and sitting even as Avery begins tugging on Fredrik's trousers to get his attention.
Coming to stand next to Fredik for the introduction, Helia quirks a smile at Desiree and then bows very precisely. She doesn't say anything since there's probably not much she can offer, or would be expected to. She nods over her shoulder to Regla afterwards, though. The smile is a little quirkier and full of warmth.
Zara chuckles softly, warmly as she hugs Alarissa in return, a warmth there few have seen from the Princess. "Nownow, that is what everyone in your family is saying. Between you, Margot and the other Princesses, you all might just have to adopt me.." She winks before her features even out but the smile stays to her lips. "I am well, finding a place to do something now that my time with the Observers are over. You must invite me to visit soon, I might have to turn you ears red with talk.." She then turns as Fredrik speaks and she chuckles softly, "Count Fredrik, I very much doubt the lovely Lady found any issue enduring time in your presents.." She nods to the lady in question.
Regla smiles at Fredrik and nods, "Your company is always pleasant Count" pause, "Thank you all for coming" she replies plainly. She takes a moment to shoot a few smiles at everyone else present, but it's Fredrik's show, and this is about him and his house more than her so, quiet she's going to remain for now. She does shoot a very warm and specific smile back at Helia before turning her attention back to the table.
Desiree smiles as she speaks to her cousin. "That's what we hope for, but not all of us are so blessed. I'm happy that you are Alexandre." She nods as she turns to Cora. "Tea? Of course. It would enjoy getting to know you better." She smiles politely and gives a nod to Helia.
And this is when Kes makes her grand appearance! The skinny seven year old girl with the head of glossy brown curls, curious brown eyes, and an infectious smile shows up in a brand new dress! A pretty blue silk dress! With pink silk flowers in her hair! Her eyes widen momentarily at all the people, but she puts on a smile and skips through the courtyard to make a beeline for Avery. "AVERY! Are you staying the night again? Did they say okay? We gots to build a bigger tower! A better one! And Momma already said we could use her throne for the -dragon-!"
For her part, Rosalie giggles at Kes' appearance, looking first to COraline and then to Fredrik before murmuring to Cora, "Oh yes, right. Kes would like to know if Avery can spend the night again. They're going to build a bigger tower and my throne is the dragon they have to slay. I was told I had to tell you this exactly." She smiles towards Alexandre and reaches out to squeeze his hand lightly, the affection clear in her gaze when she looks at her husband-to-be. Turning back to their guests, she looks to Alarissa, "Which reminds me. Both girls were hoping to get a playdate with your own daughter. They have determined that she is to be their third for this secret girls' club they are making. We are not allowed, however, because we are more than ten years old. But we can watch. From a distance. And provide them snacks." Nodding to Fredrik, she smiles, "I will send out a missive for all parties to determine schedules and when will be best to meet to finalize the contract. Then we can move forward with the fun part!"
"Yes, you have to come. I am putting the Garden Chapel to shame without atrium shrine in Thrax. Though I fear we could not adopt. You, less we make Edain very wroth. Though perhaps I could turn my eyes to him and simper some and see if he would relent." Rosalie draws her attention though and she looks to the younger children then back to her. "They do realize that she is not yet two and she is prone to swinging bits of wood around and babbling unintelligibly and eats everything, yes?"
Cora grins at the request for Avery to spend the night and nods, "Oh yes, I think we can arrange for her to come over again for another night spent building towers and fighting dragons." At Alarissa's question Cora laughs, "I believe the idea is that she shows spunk and they can guide her creativity with time. Though I doubt it was anything so well thought out, throwing stuff and babbling unintelligably is apparently fun." Avery however has lost interest in Fredrik's trousers with the appearnace of Kes and runs pell mell to her friend for a hug and admiration of the amazing dress and hey where are the snacks, and wanna go swimming in the fountain pond thing?
"Sounds like a perfect 'dragon' to me, if we are going with the destructive kind," Fredrik notes of the two-year-old's behavior with a grin, watching Avery scuttle off toward Kes. "Be careful, there's an octopus in there!" He then turns to the others and says quietly, "There's not. I think...Not really sure, sometimes stuff does go missing and end up in the pool, so never know."
"Thank you, Count RedTyde. You are a most gracious host," Hadrian's smile persists as long as it takes him to smoothly melt into his own chair. A drink is acquire, by dent of Luigi acquiring it and holding it out in waiting for the Marquis to claim it. Hadrian's hand carefully plucks it up and then curls inward, drawing it toward his own chest as he offers a deep bow of his head toward Fredrik, "Long have Houses of the Lyceum and the Mourning Isles extended aid, support, friendship, and alliance to one another. I can't fathom a reason not to help further propogate that history. House Mazetti, of course, hopes for such with House RedTyde". For a moment his wrist shifts, swirling the contents of his own glass before finally lifting it up to permit himself a sip.
"I can vouch for the Marquise. I have worked with him with regards to Thursday's Child and the Refugee's." Alarissa dips her head to Hadiran. "And apparently he is a delight on trips involving just men, silver stags and... harpy's was it?" Alarissa inquires to the Lycene noble.
There's a puppy splashing around in that pool.
Zara dips her chin to Alarissa, "As enjoyable as that might be to watch, I think we can come up with other ideas. Thrax has.. mm, two Princes I believe, though I have only met one.." There is a hint of amusement but she let's Alarissa turn her attention to others and she settles next to Cora again, really. Her eyes taking in those she has not met, but for now, she picks up her glass of tea and sips.
"Oh, the good Marquis was an /excellent/ help in the efforts to establish RedTyde, and while we were preoccupied until recently, I have been assured by Rosalie that we stand ready and able to assist him in return. Love live /both/ of our houses, and the Compact!" He lifts his glass for draining and sits back with a sigh, letting the conversation flow around him.
Laughing lightly, Rosalie nods to Alarissa, "I believe they hope to 'groom' her in the perfect third best friend. And given Avery's love of adventures, having a third gil that throws pieces of wood around isn't a bad thing. They can watch out for themselves, and at least one of us will always be around to keep an eye on them." She grins towards Coraline and nods, "Something to that effect, yes." Looking to Fredrik, she blinks, then laughs, "I hadn't even considered that. I suppose that could well be true. But in either case, there will be plenty of supervision and the girls seem eager to play with her." Turning towards Hadrian, she offers a bright and welcoming smile, "We are, of course, most pleased to have your friendship, Marquis Mazetti. Your help was invaluable in claiming the County and we look forward to helping you with your next project as well."
Kes giggles and grabs Avery's hand, the pair of them running off to play in the tidepool (octopus or not!) and shrieking with laughter over Prince Biscuit's splashing around in the water.
"Does not hurt to have claim tot he future high lady of Thrax as your playmate either. I will see to it that Genaile will ensure she comes over and spend time." Alarissa promises. The mention of Fred up princes. "Three, but either they are already in negations for the hands of others or have no desire to marry. So we shall have to think of another plan then."
Hadrian's harlequin eyes shift from Fredrik, to Alarissa, and back again. Fredrik's lifted glass results in Hadrian's own being raised, though he does not drain it upon lowering. He sips gingerly from it before his attention flashes back to Alarissa and a bright grin quickly spreads across his features, "Princess Alarissa, you are far too kind. Thank you for such flattering words," he extends to accompany his grin, "it has been my distinct pleasure to work with you in the past and into the future. As for that expedition?" Hadrian simply offers up a smile and returns to sipping from his glass. Then Rosalie's there and Hadrian's glass is passed back to Luigi so that Hadrian may rise up and offer a proper greeting in the form of a bow at the waist. One arm sweeps across his abdomen and the other tucks away at his back, conveniently sliding his light cloak behind himself before he raises to his full height once again, "And it was assistance I was only all too pleased to provide, Lady Rosalie. The future is bright between the Redkeep and Ostria." Soon enough the Marquis-Consort begins to sink back into his seat, with Luigi stepping forward to return his glass to Hadrian's awaiting hand.
And Helia? Having sent an amused smile the children's way, she's now circulating around the room, refilling drinks if needed in a casual kind of way -- and for the staff as well as the guests. And refilling her own glass every now and then too, for that matter. Her cheeks are reddening bit by bit with every sip she takes, but for once in her life she keeps her mouth shut and just listens to what's going on around her.
Cora nods in agrement with Alarissa's words on the playmate situation then clears her throat, "Well there are other options." Cora mentions lightly, "for the while marrying her into the house thing. Just sayin." Aaaand we just leave that laying there.
Desiree has joined the A large, circular gazebo.
Helia has joined the A large, circular gazebo.
Zara shakes her head gently, "Just the thought of being wanted is enough. I will visit, I will get probably get Coraline into trouble and then maybe bring a dragon to visit. It will be a lovely time.." The Valardin Princess offers and then she glances towards Fredrik, "After our last conversation I looked into a few things for the Greenhouse, I will try and have samples sent to you soon.."
Thrax looks forward to furthering relations with Ostria as well." Alarissa has no wine glass sin hand, tending to a cup of tea likely. Zara gets a smile. "We have a whole shelf of dragons. I can always use some more. Different colors till I have collected them all. There's a few white ones as well."
"The Greenhouse is actually to be Rosalie's big project," Fredrik gently correct Zara, gesturing to his niece with a broad smile. "One of many we are embarking on, along with an expansion of our merchant navy and a major rebuilding of our dock facilities. The whole hamlet and County, top to bottom, essentially. Have a couple people working on a clinic as well." He watches Hadrian's make the grandest damn bow the event has ever seen, and looks duly impressed to say the least. "I should wear a cloak sometimes, I think. So very dapper, Marquis. And I really should hear of that expedition sometime." Then there's a peering at Alarissa with a half-amused, half-intrigued smile.
An amused look goes to Zara, "I didn't realize I needed help getting in trouble, I thought I rather had a talent for it, but I will gladly accept the help, perhaps you will raise my trouble to the next level." She tilts her head in curiosity, "Dragons? I am rather fond of those myself."
Desiree takes a moment to enjoy a glass of wine. She looks at Alarissa and Zara. "Dragons are a wonderful thing to collect." She stands. "Now that I've met everyone I should really be going, but I wish you all the best."
Hadrian's flourish of a bow has her giggling as Rosalie dips a deep curtsy in return, "The pleasure is ours, Marquis, truly. We are looking to have a long and fruitful friendship with Ostria." Straightening up, she offers another of those cheery smiles before looking back to the others, letting the conversation flow around her for a bit. Looking up from a quiet conversation she's been holding with Alexandre, Rosalie smiles brightly towards Zara, "Oh, yes! Please feel free to direct anything regarding the Greenhouse project to me! I've been working closely with Baroness Skye Blackshore on the project and any aid that anyone can provide is most welcome! I'll be happy to sit down with you this week and go over what we've worked up so far, if your like, Princess Zara."
Desiree has left the A large, circular gazebo.
2 House Wyrmguard Guards leaves, following Desiree.
Zara perks up, she is a Dragon even if she is not one with arms and Alarissa /knew/ that would get her attention, dang it! "Really, well I'd love to see the collection, I am trying to find someone to make a statue that has come to mind. Something that mixes dragons with Gild.. And no, no pile of coins.." She narrows her eyes playfully to the table just in case anyone wanted to say that.
As Desiree is leaving she dips her chin gracefully to her. "It was a pleasure. We can speak of Dragon collections sometime I hope, m'Lady.."
Then back to Coraline and that half smile touches her lips again, "Well, more you will have to share all your stories of getting into trouble and I simply will not be horrified."
A dip of her chin to Fredrik when she is corrected and then a slow smile to Rosalie, "I would enjoy that, I simply like the idea of gardens and a Greenhouse. I am not sure what help I might be, but I'd enjoy such a meeting and we can see what else I and my House can do to help, if you'd like Lady Rosalie?"
"I should follow in the Lady Wyrmguards footsteps. There is much to do and I am sure that Coraline can easily tend to any Thrax matters that may rise." Her tea is put down to the side. "Count Redtyde. Thank you for your hospitality. I hope to visit again soon." There's dips of her head to the others, looking as if perhaps that tiredness has taken it's toll on her and it's time for her to leave.
Regla rises from her seat and settles her dress, "If you'll all excuse me." She does not wait to be excused, nor does she wait for any replies or responses before pushing her seat back in to the table. She leans over to whisper something in to Fredrik's ear and when she leans back up, she smiles and bows lightly before stepping out.
Hadrian's attention shifts from Rosalie, who he casts a warm smile toward. Then his harlequin eyes drift between Alarissa and Fredrik, but it's the former that he focuses on for a moment, "Ostria would welcome such building of relations, I can assure you of that, Princess Alarissa." Then back to Fredrik. It is the Count that Hadrian seems to consider in silence for a moment. Finally Hadrian nods, an easy smile overtaking his sharp features, "A conversation for a later time. Top secret, you see," there's a quiet, self-amused chuckle at that before he glances to Alarissa, then back to Fredrik, "I do think you'd be a valid addition to a small matter of mutual interests. I'll put your name forward for consideration." Then Hadrian seems to remember something, his eyes alighting and his brows bouncing upward, "Princess Alarissa," he says with a look in her direction, "would it be possible to make a request of you?"
Cora nods as Alarissa stands to go, "I am happy to represent Thrax at this fantastic event, I think Avery would come at me with a fork, or spoon, if I suggested leaving yet." She grins at Zara, "Now that sounds like a challenge, how to shock Princess Zara with my stories. Tsk, I need to find better trouble. I did get a man to remove his pants at the Ambassador once. Granted that wasn't my idea but well, nevermind." she is now blushing bright red and looking around realizing this might not be the best place to tell this story.
"It's possible. If it's within my power and capabilities to give. Do you wish to speak on the matter now privately or shall I set a time for you to join me at the estate?" Alarissa inquires of Hadrian.
Smiling warmly towards Zara, she gives a small nod and offers, "Believe me, there will be opportunity aplenty for all types of aid in this project. Not only will we need agriculturists for the clearing and planting, we also needs craftsmen and laborers for the irrigation system. Then there's dealing with merchants for the seeds, for the trees and plants that will make up the filtration system. We will need promoters to pull in people for training to learn to run the greenhouse and help explain to the people what this will offer them. Guards for the greenhouse itself!" Rosalie giggles lightly and nods, "That would be wonderful, thank you, Princess Zara." Then Alarissa is making her goodbyes and Rosalie peels off from her fiance to go offer a hug and kiss to the cheek of the High Princess, murmuring, "Thank you for coming, Your Highness, and for your support. I'll be by the estate this week to see what I can do to help."
"Oh, no, entirely unnecessary," Hadrian assures Alarissa. He glances back to Luigi who doesn't necessarily hover at the Marquis-Consort's shoulder - but he's there. Hadrian offers up a sudden grin for Luigi and then makes a casual gesture toward Alarissa, "...ba-kaw..." he states quite simply. That seems enough to inform the Luigi of his task. Luigi promptly moves off to attend to the brief business with Princess Alarissa. A hand slips beneath a fold in his tunic and a closed fist extends to pass something from one palm to another, as though some great secret were contained. Upon delivery, Hadrian speaks up, "May I humbly request that you leave that somewhere for your husband? Make it fun. Under his pillow. In one of his dresser drawers. I'm utterly certain you can come up with something entertaining. Also? Inform him that Prince Talen craves them. Advise him to save it. Prince Talen believes it will someday become a valuable currency."
Alarissa looks to what has been so secretly - and yet not - passed to her, confused at the sound that Hadrian makes before eyebrows raise. "I am absolutely sure that I can think of a place to hide this. Though I cannot be responsible for his reactions." There's something else said, in a different language, before she is easing away.
"In all fairness, I believe it's one of the better places to tell this story, but I digress," Fredrik tells Coraline with a broad, chuffed grin. Then, with a faux-sober and sage nod and look to Hadrian, "Oh of course, Marquis. Top-secret, of course, of course." Then, more seriously, "If I can help? I will, through and through, rest assured, just let me know." He watches the passing of the hands with Luigi and Hadrian, peering at the whatever-it-is with an expression of mirthful delight. "Oh, that's excellent. Bravo, Marquis, bravo." He bows to Alarissa deeply, standing with a flourish, if not one as deep as Hadrian's. "Many thanks for attending the party, Your Highness! I always look forward to your visits, and will happily speak with Coraline, I find her to be excellent company."
Alarissa says in Marin'alfar, "I am the might sea cock, cockadoodle doo."
Regla has left the A large, circular gazebo.
"It's his own fault for missing our latest gathering. I could have handed it to him myself," Hadrian politely informs Alarissa.
"I apologize. He has been tending to me in my grief but I will ensure that he does not miss the next Marquis. I am sure that the Archduke Consort will not let. Him forget either." A press of a kiss to Rosalie's cheek and she's easing away, keeping that item tight in her fist, shaking her head with faint embarassment.
Rosalie bursts out laughing for no good reason, though she's looking between Alarissa and Hadrian as she does so. Clearing her throat, she pinches her lips together and simply grins.
Helia has no idea idea what's going on, so she just keeps on sipping rum. She stands before Alarissa leaves, however, bowing politely and with a smile. Then back on her seat again, leaning back. More silent drinking of rum.
An amused look goes to Fredrik, "Why thank you, I do try to be at least mildly good company." Although it is clear she is gently teasing. The exchange between Hadrian and Alarissa, and Fredrik is looked at with curiosity and that curious gaze goes to Rosalie next, "Share." she says grinning.
Alarissa has left the A large, circular gazebo.
Maxene, Pellinor, 4 Thrax Guards, Honey Snuggle, a Velenosian Angora cat leave, following Alarissa.
Zara simply arches an eyebrow slowly, "So, new languages are not on my list.." She simply says it in passing before she gives Rosa another smile, really how can you help but smile as the woman is so excited. "I look forward to it, as it seems now I will look forward to Princess Coraline's try to shock me.." She looks to the other woman and winks.
"Oh no, I cannot spoil such a thing, it's not in me. And the elf-talk I didn't understand, that's Rosalie's department," Fredrik puts in, gesturing toward his niece as he digs into some of this food. You know, this food they have so much of for this that he probably paid for. "I admit, I'd look forward to a good shock, it's been a bit...Well, not that long, but that was different." He rubs at a half-healed bruise upon his forehead, grumbling something about rocks.
Flicking a glance to Coraline, she grins but shakes her head, "I couldn't give up Her Highness like that. I'm sure she'll inform you herself if you ask, though. It doesn't seem particularly... secretive." Looking to Zara, she smiles brightly, "I can offer tutoring in a number of skills myself, though not as much for social skills, admittedly. I'm still learning to master a few different areas there." Then she's leaning in to press a kiss to Fredrik's cheek, "You got a good shock just a few days ago, uncle." She reminds him and grins.
Helia finally raises her voice, drawling tipsily, "And you tell me to have caution." A pointed look is shot Fredrik's way. Then more rum sippage.
Fredrik /stares/ at Rosalie. Just. Stares. Sighs, and finally smiles just a bit. "Yeah. Yeah, I did." He peers at Helia, then snorts. "I don't complain when you go off and do crazy things when the family is getting started."
Helia frowns, "I haven't done anything of the sort!"
Cora laughs and nods, looking to Hadrian, she waves, "My apologies I don't think we have been introduced, and I can almost guess the purpose behind whatever that was I won't press for details. It is good to meet you." She smirks at Zara, "Well it entirely depends on what sort of shock you are after. I have done what some might call shocking, and a few different flavors of it too." No she does not realize the innuendo in that statement. She peers at Fredrik's bruise, "How did you manage that?"
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Helia before departing.
"Discretion. A most excellent trait," Hadrian remarks with a nod toward Helia as he begins to chuckle quietly. His attention returns to Fredrik and Rosalie, but a new voice cast in his direction results in Hadrian's focus skipping along merrily to regard Coraline. He drinks down the last vestige of his wine and promptly announces, "Luigi!" The glass goes into the air and, thankfully, Luigi is there to catch it. On account of there not being any sound of breaking glass, Hadrian's attention remains fixed on Coraline and he offers a bright, charcoal-whitened smile in answer to her words, "Hadrian Mazetti, Marquis of House Mazetti, Count of Ostria. That was...", he gestures vaguely off in the direction that Princess Alarissa had gone, "...simply some business that had been missed recently on the part of His Grace, Prince Victus." Again his hand returns to rest atop the arm of his chair, finger steepling as his fingertips tap against the wooden arm, "And might I have the distinct pleasure of knowing your name? Title too, of course."
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Helia before departing.
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Helia before departing. As is the way of things. Unfolding the piece of paper, the swashbuckler holds it in one hand, her eyes skimming across each line. She quirks her lips to the side, none of the usual sunshine in that faint half-smile. Then she drinks from her glass again and looks towards the direction of the foyer.
The tossed glass is given an impressed look, before Cora's eyes go back to Hadrian, "Coraline Thrax and really as far as title, I have a number of them to choose from. Princess, Dame, or Knight Grandmaster of the Order of East Light." She grins, "Physician of the Physicians Guild as well. It just depends on which hat I have on at the time you see. Surprisingly it isn't as many hats as one might think, they often blend together you see, like morph-hat." She leans forward with a bright smile, "And truly, the pleasure is mine."
" Oh, just a little...Business proposition that went badly. My opponent didn't like the bid I made, and decided a rock was the proper way to make a statement. Don't worry, it's being dealt with." A certain cold, even tone to him quite at odds with his usual gracious one, and he turns toward Helia after the words, squinting at her and a silent question on his lips. "A hat of many colors. Someone should make that and wear it to the next party." A sage nod, even as he watches his daughter closely.
Zara listens to Coraline's introduction and she shakes her head slowly with amusement. "We will need to get you something to wear that shows which title is in use, a hat, mmm, no something a little more.. interesting.." But then Fredrik's tone is heard and then dark dark eyes turn to watch him for a moment, she doesn't say anything but if a frown could appear it would. A slow breath and she takes a few bites of the lovely food that was made for them that evening.
Helia shakes her head at Fredrik, but then calls a servant over. She whispers something in the man's ear, and then he departs momentarily to come back with paper and an inked quill which he hands to Helia. A few scribbles are consigned to the paper, which is then folded in half and handed back to the servant. Another whisper. Then the servant is heading Fredrik's way.
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Fredrik before departing.
"Ooo," Hadrian's lips then press together with a delightful little wiggle of his eyebrows at Coraline's list of titles, "a contender. I like you already. Every accomplishment is an opportunity and every achievement is to be remembered". As though suddenly forestalling something, Hadrian's hand lifts to ward off Luigi, "Not right now, no. Remind me to send her highness a letter discussing the many virtues of a plethora of hats". Nods are exchanged and Hadrian's attention dances across the many faces of the party, though he ultimately settles back onto Coraline. A smile meets and smile, with Hadrian offering a sudden dip of his chin in acceptance, "Your flattery is well received, your highness. Thank you. Please accept my own in return". The contributions to the talk of titles from Fredrik and Zara though earn a glance and a lighthearted chuckle from the Marquis-Consort as his brow wrinkles up ever so slightly and his smile spreads wide.
A grin appears at the suggestion of a method of showing which hat is in use, "Well I wear my physicians robes when doing that. And will be getting tabards made for the Order for that. Not sure how to show when I am in princess versus knight mode except I tend to wear armor when I am knighting and well," she indicates her unarmored state, "I apparently am princessing right now." She looks over to where Avery is playing then says to Rosa, "I will need to head out shortly, can you watch her for a bit? I don't want to pull her away when she is having so much fun."
Perking up at the mention of a title contest, Rosalie offers a bright grin, "Oh! Oh I can play that game!" Drawing in a deep breath, she lists out, "Rosalie Redtyde. Voice and Minister of Income for Redtyde. Senior Scholar Pro Tempore. Disciple of Vellichor. Vigilant of the Order of East Light. Lady in waiting to Her Highness, High Princess Alarissa Thrax. And Cunning Linguist Extraordinaire!" She giggles lightly and sips from her tea, looking pleased with herself.
"Oh no no, don't get Rosie goi-" But it's too late. Much, much too late.
When Regla reappears, Helia grins wide and offers a wave. A slightly tipsy one. Then she points at a nearby flask of rum -- one that she seems to have commandeered for herself -- and nods towards it in a way that seems to say, 'Hey, Regla. Yeah?'
Alexandre just blinks at the list of titles. Blinks most owlishly.
Cora laughs, "Oh I didn't put all of mine in, I am a Disiple of Gild, knight-vagrant of Knights of Solace, training friend to the Templars, and I /was/ training toy for Dame Leona, not an official title just what it felt like."
Helia also snorts in amusement at Rosalie's last comment, "Heh. Cunning Linguist." The glass is half-lifted to her mouth before she sniggers.
Fredrik sighs, rubbing at the bridge of his nose at Rosalie's title-ramble, turning as he notes Regla reappearing and smiling warmly with a tip of his glass, which he then flips toward Helia to catch. Maybe she's as good as Luigi, we will see.
Helia checked dexterity at difficulty 15, rolling 0 higher.
The final title in the list presented by Rosalie earns slow applause from Hadrian's gloved hands, "Luigi? We need to talk about how you missed that one". He sends a disappointed glance to his shoulder, then turns his focus back to Rosalie, and then back to Luigi, "Add her to the list too, please. Unless your puffy lungs aren't bothering you today?" Hadrian asks with a glance back to Luigi - who, as ever, remains silent but offers a faint shake of his head. "A pity, Luigi. I weep for your puffy lungs," Hadrian remarks with a degree of sadness pervading his voice.
Hand automatically in air. Fingers wrap around the glass. Helia lowers her hand and looks at it with midly tipsy confusion. How the fuck did this get there?
Regla returns, smiles and waves lightly to all her icy blues moving to catch Helia's intent. She stiffles a giigle and makes for the bottle of Rum, which she opens and pours herself a drink in a mug. She starts going to town on that Rum, somethings never change, as she smiles at Fredrik as well whom she moves to sit back down next to.
Giggling once more, she leans in and kisses Fredrik's cheek once more, then straightens and grins, "Oh! And Dragon Tamer!" She shoots a glance over to Alexandre and smiles sweetly at him. Because really! Then she's looking back to Hadrian and lifting both brows, "Puffy lungs?"
Although she's smiling at the chat going on around her, Helia refrains from speaking for the moment. She does fill Fredrik's glass from the flask, though, and gently pushes it back along the table with a an open palm. But then, at puffy lungs, "Bit of a disapproving huffer?"
"Now Dragon Tamer is certainly a baseless boast." Alexandre doth protest, though his eyes laugh for him. "As I recall, it was neither conquest, nor even the result of devious diplomacy. Dragon Friend, perhaps. Or Dragon Loved, would be far more befitting." And then he drinks. Water. What kind of Oathlander would he be otherwise?
Helia drinks rum.
"I mean, considering the frequency I watch Alexandre coming and going from the Villa, I think 'Tamer' might be appropriate..." Fredrik remarks with a chuckle and a roll of his eyes. "Alright, my good folks and family, I'm not going to cast anyone out, but I think I'll have the servants clean the table off for now and let us mingle, use the pool, the fire pit, or just conquer some Oathlanders, as they desire."
"A medical term. I'm a physician myself - unguilded, of course. I prefer the ability to maintain discretion," Hadrian explains with a nod back toward Rosalie. He lifts a hand to forestall further questions, "You see, I learned my practice from a Prodigal in Southport some years ago. Some of my terms for medical diagnosis don't reflect terminology commonly utilized by standard Arvani practitioners". There's a paused before Hadrian elaborates, "The Marquessa of House Mazetti may undoubtedly inform anyone hearing such an explanation that I'm telling a tall tale and that she knows fully well that I learned the tricks of my trade from a reputable institution in the Oathlands. I won't go so far as to call her a liar... I will suggest you believe me more than her". There's a firm nod of Hadrian's head before he, finally, gets to the point, "Puffy lungs. When the lungs feel hot, irritated, and puffy. Making it difficult to breathe. My list tends to exacerbate his issues."
