Comments and Log

A lovely spring day within the Compact's capital is not often the kind of thing that drives Patrizio Pravus to be indoors for a change, especially when the sun is shining brightly without and warming the world. But here he is, within the Arena of the Golden Hart proper, accompanied with his regular retinue in their blue-and-steel attire that speaks to their fief. The prince himself, on the other hand, is in his armour, polished to a mirror gleam, as he's surveilling the room, though this is not just something of business for him - he is still also attired with a smile, a glass of wine in hand, as he's perhaps limbering himself up in more ways than one for the event about to happen.

The Hart's hums with excitement as a long overdue Sip'n Spar opens. People of all kinds enter the arena looking for the best seats and enjoying some excellent libations. Valencia smiles as as she watches her guests arrive, welcoming in turn as she oversees her staff and preparations in the ring of honour in the center of the vast room.

Normally quite an anti-social young woman, Skaldia is never seen at these types of events. She appears today, however, clad in her leathers and carrying her bow and quiver on her back. On her shoulder is her hawk, Libera, who is taking this all in with wide amber eyes. The Huntress makes her way quietly around the edge of the hall, her dark eyes studying everything warily, as if expecting trouble from such a large crowd of people. Eventually, she finds an empty bit of wall to lean against, and so she does, crossing one foot over the other so that the toe of that boot is touching the floor, her back leaning against the wall, arms folded. The hawk flaps her wings, then settles, trilling into Skaldia's ear as the auburn-haired Harrow glances around uncertainly.

Princess Renata stands next to the bar in a daring outfit of honeysilk dyed to match cresting waves. Pearls have been strung upon hem of silk running along deep plunge of neckline and over shoulders in straps. Matching to layered necklaces and small tiara. The Pravus Princess came early to get a lay of the arena, to know what she would be up against for the spars tonight. Not her first time to a sip'n spar, though each has proven to have a different layout and have ended at a different levels of what she was able to remain for with a sudden a quick need to excuse herself. A hint of want to be able to stay longer that previous spars. She settles next to the bar to ensure there will be a proper flow of wine to her table.

Turning to a soft conversation with Valencia for the nights events, to step closer to the doors to welcome those that enter. Offering a nod to Prince Theo as he steps closer with a soft word, her smile warm and thankfully for the prince's sake she doesn't carry a glass of wine, yet.

"Cousin!" Princess Sabella Grayson arrives at the Golden Heart arena with her usual bubbly demeanor and bright smile, her attention drawn to Patrizio and that perfect mirror-gleam. "Hello, hello, how are you?" The princess' blue eyes are wide as she looks around. Her group of guards fan out around her, dispersing enough to keep her from seeming like she's unapproachable but still keeping a close eye on her. "Oh, it's been absolutely /ages/ since I've been to one of these. I hope it's fu fun af the chariot race was." One of the various members of her entourage has brought her a glass of white wine, which she accepts happily. Then, she turns to see Renata and Valencia, giving both a friendly finger wave.

Cuddles, a jumpy and cuddly puppy, 1 Rivenshari Clansman leave, following Kanean.

The smile on Mirari's lips is akin to a cat about to knock something fragile off a shelf. The woman's armour is tailored to fit perfectly, a work of art in its own right. Vicious. The steelsilk glitters and gleams with every confident step. Wearing enough blades to outfit a small army, it's obvious why she's here. Mirari loves a little violence. What better way to spend the evening, a few drinks and the clank of the blades. Because it's really a sensory experience. There's no effort made to temper her true self, rather she walks in with clear intent in her emerald eyes. Still, she warms up at the sight of their host and Mirari winks at Valencia as she passes her by. "Valencia, hello. You look lovely tonight. I've been looking forward to this all day.," Mirari tells her with a quick shared smile. But before anything, there's a glass of wine that requires liberating. Mirari's slender fingers snag something that's deep red in hue, giving it a swirl before she takes a sip. Not one to rush into greetings, rather she shares a few private looks with choice individuals as she evaluates the arena.

It is true Prince Theo has come to this event to support his cousin Valencia and to see with his own eyes what a Sip and Spar is all about. Considering every time they happened in the past he somehow was out of town or missed it entirely. His steps had lead to where Renata and Valencia are. Both get kisses to cheeks in greeting. Theo is very thankful that Renata holds no wine in her hand. He is also on his best behavior. Of course he is. Turning, he'd greet to any that are familiar to him with a smile, a nod, a handshake if they want it.

Lucita steps into the arena while exchanging a few comments with her assistant, Micana. A quick glance around the area leads her to recognizing many present. A beguiling smile and a little wave of the hand is given to greet the others as she makes her way over to the bar and gets a drink. "Have the spars been scheduled yet? Am curious who will meet on the sands. I'm just here to watch for a while." She turns toward Valencia and murmurs. ?And you do look beautiful tonight."

Patrizio's arrival is met with a smile and a gracious incline of head. The Archduke, however, is left to his preparations, while Valencia speaks to Renata. A nod of appreciation is offered to the Princess of Pravus and Valencia excuses herself for the moment to welcome more guests. Sebella's bright arrival is met with a smile and a warm incline of head and Skaldia is welcomed as well. 'Good evening, my lady. Please be so welcome. It is good to see an archer in our midst. I hope you will be competing. Please if you will allow, you met the Princess Renata of Pravus yet?" she asks with a nod to Renata and back.

Umi, the curious turtle, 1 Kennex corsairs arrive, following Titania.

"Cousin. My highness." Patrizio smiles as he spies Renata and Valencia where the latter attends to her staff and the former is making ready, making his way over to greet both of them, that glass kept mindfully far from Renata still. Though the jade eyes survey the room again, a grin for Sabella and a slightly more wary look - if teasingly - for Theo upon the notice of him.

Though at Lucita's question, there's a bow of his head to the baroness, before he offers with a chuckle, "Are there any in specific, my lady, who you would wish to see, amongst the multitude here?"

"As you you, my lovely Baroness. I am so happy to see you," Valencia smiles. "Thank you for coming. I am glad to see so many wonderful faces here tonight. If you will please, I will start the proceedings, but I hope we might share a drink later tonight," she nods as she gives Theo a grin. "You, misser trouble, I am glad to see as well. Will you please see to the Baroness Lucita and the Princes of Pravus as well. I must start our event."

Skaldia sucks her bottom lip into her mouth, chewing on it nervously when she sees Valencia approaching. Her expression remains a bit tense as she is addressed as 'my lady'. She clears her throat a bit and says, "I'd like to compete, yes. But I'm not a noble," she is quick to correct. "Skaldia Harrow, Disciple of Petrichor." She pushes away from the wall a bit, shrugging her shoulder to adjust the bow and arrows. "So how does all this work?" she asks Valencia uncertainly. Her hawk peers at Valencia too, while Skaldia looks to Renata as the princess is introduced. After a moment, the huntress gives a polite bow toward Renata. "We have not met before, no," she says. "Nice to meet you, Princess," she says.

IS there every a Sip n Spar with out a Kennex? Well maybe but not this time alright! In walks Titania, her ocean blue eyes twinkle as she looks around. Dressed in her leathers and sword on her hip, hair all done up with small sea shells in the blond hair and all. There is a soft smile on her lips as she looks about and then moves in further with a grace about her form as she does.

"Messere Harrow, you needn't fear about not being of the peerage. All are welcome, in equal footing, upon the sands in her highness' Hart." Patrizio smiles to Skaldia at the worry of such things, before there's the bow of his head, as if he acknowledges that they've not, themselves met. "Patrizio of Pravus, messere." There's a warm smile to Renata at the form of address, though his head turns just enough to notice Titania arriving, offering the lift of his glass to her in salute.

Theo does as Valencia asks and looks to Lucita first, "May I help you get settled in? A drink perhaps?" His inquiry also for Renata and Patrizio even if he heard the princess talk about wine earlier and he sees the archduke has a drink in hand. A small shrug given to Patrizio when he sees that look and he sort of gives a side long glance to Renata. Maybe having her be wine free right now is a good idea.

Lucita hmmms as she glances around. "Those I usually see here are absent tonight. So no particular desire for a pairing for a spar. I can not participate myself, just watch and enjoy.

"Your pardon, missere, it is meant as a title of respect. For him my Hart we are all held in the highest esteem here," Valencia explains to Skaldia. "And how it works is those who wish to spar are invited to matches upon the sands. If we have more archers, we can host a proper contest, otherwise you are welcome to enter the matches as well. I will explain more once we start if you wish," she nods gentle and excuses herself for the moment.

Clad in scarlet southern silks, Valencia moves to the center of the Ring of Valor. Offering a welcoming wave and smile, she holds up her hands and graciously inclines her head to the enthusiastic crowd.

"My lords and ladies, misseres and madams. Dearest friends -- please be welcome to my Hart and thank you for being here this evening. We are so very happy you could join us."

"Tonight, we once again come together to enjoy good company and admire the finest of martial arts and skills," the little Lycene calls out with a respectful nod to her guests and all those who will be soon entering the ring.

"As this is the first time in a while since we have hosted a Sip'n Spar, we also have a very special offering... this beautiful prize created created by the skilled hands of master weaponsmith, Mistress Missere Mirari of Corsetina," Valencia holds the a wickedly sharp pocket knife with carved blackwood handle aloft for all to admire.

"Truly a generous prize that will certainly inspire some excellent matches this night. We thank her graciously for her wonderful donation for tonight's event and look forward to bestowing it upon a worthy champion."

Sabella looks around again, taking in the interactions between everyone. Her smile never falters, giving a few Noda of acknowledgment here and there. The princess goes to find the best spot to observe the spars that she can.

"And now, dear friends. Let us begin," she calls to the crowd filling the arena. "Missere Sergeant of Arms! Competitors! Please take to the sands," she continues with a smile. "Let spirits lift and voices rise. I now pronounce tonight's event open!"

As the Hart's arena fills with cheers, the little vixen gracefully bows her head and gracefully steps from the ring. The Sip'n Spar has officially begun."

Patrizio wields Beast's Unmaking.

Renata offers a small wave to Sabella as she enters, "I heard about the chariot race, did I hear right that Sir Jeffeth gifted you with a tunic?" Her cheeks have a slight rise of blush to them as she asks before turning to look at Theo for something he's said. Renata's smile holding as she nods to Valencia, then to nod to Patrizio as she's handed a glass of red wine by assistant. Lifting her glass with nod to Theo as her smile shifts a little, possibly mischievous.

A quick turn to Mirari, Skaldia, and Lucita as they enter. "Mirari, it is lovely to see you." Renata's gaze slips to the multitude of blades upon the woman with a rise of eyebrow, "I hope you'll be able to show some of your skill with blades tonight." With small pause she turns to Lucita with beaming smile, "Baroness Lucita, thank you for coming out tonight. Maybe you can sit with me?" Turning to Skaldia with warmth in her smile a small sip of her wine as she nods to the woman. "That's a bird. Oh they are lovely! Yes. I mean no. I don't think we've met? It's lovely to meet you. What is the bird's name?" Finally Renata turns to Titania with a small finger wave and reach out of her hand. "You must come with me. We can sit and someone can help hide me if there's too much in any of the spars."

Skaldia glances at Patrizio, and inclines her head respectfully toward the Prince. "Thank you, your Highness," she says, before moving over toward the edge of the sands. She glances around, looking for any other archers. Not seeing any just yet, she turns her attention back to Renata. "Her name is Libera," the huntress says. The hawk flutters her wings, almost as if showing off. Then Renata is turning to Titania, and Skaldia is turning back to peer around, debating on whether she'll participate or not. After a moment, she moves forward to find a seat for now, so she can watch the first spar.

The Hart's Sergeant of Arms is a grizzled, no-nonsense kind of a man. A veteran with a glint in his eye and more experience than many in the realm.

Moving with the agility of a younger man, the old warrior moves onto the sands and holds up a scarred hand before rumbling out, "Lords and Ladies! Good folk and gentles all! Archduke Patrizio of Pravus and Miserre Mirari of Corsetina are called to the sands!" he bellows as he eyes the combatants with a look of approval as they enter.

"Sir, your highness, present yer arms. May your fight with honour and fire in your heart and the rest be damned. LAY ON!" he barks with a gruff grin and a bow to each before stepping back.

Skaldia finds herself pulled toward Renata's table, and perches herself on a seat, looking very uncertain.

Skaldia has joined the corner table.

Sabella laughs at Renata's question, her head shaking in a way that makes her earrings dance. "Oh! No, no, I wouldn't say he /gifted/ me a tunic!" Her smile widens, somehow, "I /would/ say he tore his off, and it landed in my lap. I took the scraps to a seamstress and had a new one made for him. Happily, she was able to salvage the mother of pearl buttons on the sleeves." Then, she's settling in to watch the first spar.

The wine is so dark that's almost a burgundy, Mirari swirls it within the glass, letting it coat the sides. Then she takes a sip of it, savouring the flavour briefly. Mirari doesn't just drink the wine, she savours it, she experience it. But, she doesn't spend too much time standing around and indulging. For when Valencia calls contestants to the ring, Mirari saunters in that direction. The woman gets rid of her glass along the way by handing it off to someone. The smirk on her lips is wildly amused already, a little glance along the length of her shoulder to catch sight of who her opponent might be. Renata's greeting is caught along the way and Mirari flashes a smile in the woman's directed before she turns her attention to Valencia. When Mirari catches who she is going to fight that smirk turns to a full on grin. "Your Grace.," the woman says to Patrizio, "I look forward to this-- shall we give them a show to remember?," Mirari suggests to her liege with mischief brewing.

With Renata having been handed a glass of wine herself, there's still that setting-aside of Patrizio's own where it can be watched by his own guard and safely out of his cousin's reached van as he offers his own mischievous smile at her conduct. "If you will excuse me," offers he with warmth to Valencia and... there's a teasing smile to Mirari herself when the pair are announced to take to the sands. "Messere Corsetina," says he, with just enough gravitas to perhaps give impression that he's having fun with the matter, "I too look forward to this. Let us show all what those of the Summer Seas have to present in terms of our ability on the field."

Patrizio has joined the ring of valor.

3 Setarcan Royal Shields have been dismissed.

9 First Legion Centurions have been dismissed.

Lucita has joined the corner table.

Lucita nods to those who invited her to join them. She positions her chair so she has a good view of the sparing sands and the room in general. A disciple of Petrichor! I do miss some of the Lodge events. I once wrote a song about a Great Hunt dedicated to Petrichor."

A fight has broken out here. Use @spectate_combat to watch, or +fight to join.

Titania smiles moving over to Renata and puts her hand on her arm, "I would be more then happy to join you." she grins and looks over to Patrizio with a grins, "If any would like a friendly match of Bow against Bow." she follows after Renata to find their seats.

There is a look given to Renata when Theo notes that she is now armed with RED wine. Uh oh. He does move to take a seat. If Mirari catches his hand movement before she goes to her spar he's giving her a thumbs up. He has a lot of admiration for the woman. He also does like Patrizio. This is going to be a good match.

A fight has broken out here. Use @spectate_combat to watch, or +fight to join.

Mirari wields Choices, a vicious set of gleaming alaricite finger talons.

A fight has broken out here. Use @spectate_combat to watch, or +fight to join.

Renata manages to pulls a few along to the corner table where they can all protect her... sit with her and share in a drink and conversation while Patrizio and Mirari take to their spar. The princess tucks into her seat with ankles crossed and pulled back in a proper courtly seat while in a prime position to view the spar. Raising her glass of wine up to those about to fight.

Patrizio checks 'unconsciousness save' at hard. Patrizio fails.

Patrizio is incapacitated and falls unconscious.

Titania has joined the corner table.

Theo has joined the corner table.

Skaldia looks over to Titania and asks, "Did you say a match of Bow against Bow, my lady?" She hefts her bow and arrows off her back, and into her hand with a ready smile.

The woman is excited, perhaps a little too excited, because she just lunges in. It's all in good fun and since Patrizio is her liege, she has to go all in. After all, this is a clear demonstration of her skills and ability to serve Pravus, right? There's a glimmer in her eye as she attacks, using thing slender blades that attach to her fingers. They are crafted for her, by her, making it look like she has claws. The woman is agile, she is familiar with fighting and violence is a way of life for the Corestina. The woman probably enjoys it too much. That means, she's coming at Patrizio from all angles, the sounds of her knives against his sword fill the arena. They clank against armour and while she goes in for the strike, she's got to move out of the way quickly. His own attacks coming her way. "I've always wanted to fight with you, Your Grace. So, I can cross that off my list," the woman says between the strikes. Then she goes still and silent and that's probably a sign of danger to come, for in the end, she goes one way then easily spins around, coming from behind to make her attack. Mirari can see that Patrizio holds himself well and strong and so she attempts a dramatic attack, that is truly for the benefit of the spectators.

There is a nod towards Skaldia when Theo hears her speak. He remembers seeing her at the Explorer's meeting and then his attention is drawn to the sparring that is going on before them. Does he dare reach for a wine glass. He dares and even drinks from it as he listens to his table mates.

Renata checks composure at hard. Renata is successful.

Titania perks up looking to Skaldia nodding her head, "I did indeed." she slips her cloak off and moves to pull her bow from her back. "Shall we?" she asks to her. She looks to Renata and stands up, "I will be back." she can not deny a spin on her bow.

Skaldia nods to Titania, and after feeding a meaty treat to her bird, to the probable horror of Princess Renata, the huntress rises from her seat. She lifts her arm, and Libera lifts off, and settles on the back of her chair, saving her spot. Skaldia then takes up her bow and arrows, glancing to Titania, and heads for the sands.

Skaldia has left the corner table.

Skaldia has joined the ring of valor.

Titania has left the corner table.

Titania has joined the ring of valor.

A blink, visibly, by the archduke of the Summer Seas when there's that rush in, the flash of his sword as he tries to get himself into a spot where he can be defending against the blades attached to Mirari's fingers. Moves that are, visibly by and large accustomed to dealing with foes with weapons more similar to his own, the ornate sword that he's bearing isn't the best thing for him to have brought to those fight, and... more so, with the way that they fair against his armour, as wonderful as it is for dealing with large threats on the battlefield. A laugh slides from him, though, even as he's clearly unable to maneuver in all of that finery against her, that she has - by far - the upper hand in terms of being able to weave in and out, and get away from him before he can reciprocate the strikes upon himself.

And it is with a tumult, loud and resounding, when the armoured Setarcan knight finds his way onto his backside on the sands, but a laugh can be heard still from him, before the sword is dropped from his hand and his visor lifted, before his palm's offered briefly to Mirari. "I yield, messere, I yield." Another laugh on its heels, before he reaches for her hand from his pose, not to pull her down, but to kiss the back of it. "I've been, and continue to be, struck by your and your house's devotion to ours. And now I seem to have been quite literally struck by you in other ways. Well met, indeed, and I appreciate the chance to spar."

And with a grunt, the other hand is applied to getting himself aloft once more.

Lucita speaks up as the archers leave the table in the corner. She directs her comments to Skaldia. "You do have a talent, falconry. It takes understanding of your hawk, skill, knowledge to handle a bird like that. It is a worthy talent and one to be respected."

Renata is in mid conversation with Lucita, Theo, Titania, and Skaldia at the corner table when Mirari spinds and shows of her fast attack upon Patrizio. A lift of her wine glass to sip and look away from the full attack to be returned from her Archduke only to stare directly at a strip of dangling raw meat which Skaldia holds out, the thing is dripping with some blood upon it still. Then quickly tossed to the hawk upon the woman's shoulder leaving little trace of the meat. Renata's pale skin, flushes to nearly full white. Any more and she might be translucent. A hard swallow as she turns from the bird's meal to see Patrizio fall to Mirari's knives. A harsh breath taken in as the princess is left to stare at middle of the table. Her breath shaky as she fumbles with her wine glass, staring at the red wine. "No... I..." A look over to her assistant, "Yes. a white wine. now."

The best seat to watch the spars allows Sabella to have an excellent view of the match between Patrizio and Mirari. The princess winces a few times throughout, but she cheers brightly for both when Mirari is the victor.

As one fighter yields, the crowd roars with delight. The Hart's Sergeant of Arms nods with quiet approval as he steps back into the center of the ring, "Well done," he offers with spark of a smile and a look of admiration for Mirari as he turns to the crowd to bellow, "And, your winner is Miserre Mirari of Corsetina, of the called!"

The crowd rises and cries out with vigor as the first combatants of the evening good-naturedly step from the sand. The Sergeant waits till there is a lull again and then with a deep rumble he bellows again, "Stand tall. Our next match is called! Missere Skaldia of Harrow and Countess Titania of Kennex and Fireviper! You've been called to the sands. May your fight with honour and fire in your heart aim true," he offers with a brisk nod to each as he steps back out to give them room. "Fighters, present yer arms and lay on yer leisure! Good fight!"

Skaldia seems oblivious to Renata's reaction to the raw meet, her focus now on watching the fight between Patrizio, and how it ends before it's really begun. She blinks at that, and then she's heading toward the sands with Titania. She glances over her shoulder to Lucita as the Baroness speaks, and smiles. "Yes... I suppose you are right, Baroness. I do have a talent for birds." She smiles, looking to the hawk. She does see Renata's white face then, and she blinks. But then she hears herself and Titania being called to the sands, and she turns away to enter the sands with the Countess. Skaldia slings her quiver across her back again, and then lifts her bow in a sort of salute to Titania.

Skaldia wields Serene Huntress, an oathlands steel recurve bow.

Valencia is overheard praising Mirari: As beautiful to watch as she is deadly upon the sands.

Valencia is overheard praising Mirari: Generous and skilled benefactor to tonight's Sip'nSpar event. Grateful for her generosity.

Theo is overheard praising Valencia.

When Patrizio goes down, Mirari looks at the prince with an easy smile, "well fought, Your Grace." The woman gives the man him her hand without hesitation. The kiss is unexpected and she smiles as the man demonstrates charm in every situation, "and well played.". "It was a good spar," Mirari says to the prince, looking rather content to have a chance to fight. Mirari tucks her blades back into their little spots and she reaches her arms up and stretches like a cat in a sunbeam. "I've no doubt these ladies will put us both to shame," she says of Titania and Skaldia. Mirari waits for Patrizio to get up and then she walks off from the area with him chatting. "Now, I think we should get some more wine and enjoy the entertainment. Valencia's events are always the best," the woman says looking invigorated by the experience. Valencia's smile is returned with a little bow of her head, "that was great fun," she assures her.

Theo is overheard praising Mirari.

Theo is overheard praising Patrizio.

Valencia is overheard praising Patrizio: Noble in word and deed and a most gracious and gallant sparring opponent.

Titania was cheering on Patrizio for his time on the Sands, she grins when he comes off and moves to slip onto the sands with her bow in hand, there is a light in her ocean blue eyes that shows there is a thrill to shooting a bow.

Patrizio has left the ring of valor.

Titania wields Intricately forged ancient steel recurve bow.

Valencia smiles warmly as the Mirari and Patrizio depart the sands. Immediately, they are brought two glasses of the best of the Hart's formidable cellars in celebration of a well fought match.

Theo leans forward in his seat to watch as Titania and Skaldia are called out to the sands next. When Mirari walks by he tells her, "Congratulations! That was a good fight." He looks at Patrizio, "It was a very good fight."

Likewise, Patrizio bows his head to Valencia as the pair are exiting the sands, the easy smile upon his features matched with a hint of colour in his cheeks as he lets a breath free, and makes sure the staff are given coin for the drinks being brought forth. "Wine is a /need/, though you must allow me to buy the first round, as tribute to your besting of me," he rejoins to Mirari with ease. He gives a glance to those preparing for the archery, before he muses more softly, "I will admit that each time I come out here, I learn something new. And not just because you learn more in defeat than in victory, but because at least here, one gets to walk away from said defeats. I really do appreciate the lesson."

Theo's words get a grin and a nudge of his head towards his companion. "My side was passable. She was exquisite."

And then a messenger rudely comes and draws Sabella away.

6 Grayson House Guards, Maureen, an unflappable nanny, Clark, an exasperated guard leave, following Sabella.

Titania checked dexterity + archery at difficulty 10, rolling 23 higher.

Skaldia checked dexterity + archery at difficulty 10, rolling 48 higher.

Skaldia checked dexterity + archery at difficulty 10, rolling 56 higher.

Skaldia checked dexterity + archery at difficulty 10, rolling 39 higher.

Patrizio has joined the corner table.

Mirari has joined the corner table.

The archers take to the sands, targets now upon the floor and a fine mesh of steel to keep errant arrows from making the event unpleasant for those watching. The Hart's Sergeant of Arms calm over sees, nodding to each of the contestants and allowing them to release their arrows when they are ready.

Finding a table, the woman takes a seat and talks quietly with Patrizio while she watches the archery competition. "Archery is something I've only tried my hand at once or twice. It's such a beautiful art form, it's really quite about precision and patience. The later, that's probably what's kept me away," she says with an easy smile. Theo's comment is met with a smile, "I enjoyed it," she says about the fight.

Renata has a white wine, all looks better in the world for the princess as she looks over to watch the archery competition taking place. Clapping lightly for both Skaldia and Titania in their shots taken.

Skaldia smiles to Mirari and Patrizio as they leave the sands. "Well fought," she tells them both. She smiles to Titania then, before finally turning and facing the targets that have been set up. She draws in a slow breath, then releases it, before taking an arrow from her quiver, and nocking it, adjusting her stance with confidence. She draws back the bowstring so that the fletching of her arrow even with her right ear. She is able to draw the steel recurve bow with ease. Taking aim, the flame-haired huntress focuses on the target, before letting the arrow loose with a 'thwang' of the bowstring. Two more arrows are withdrawn from the quiver, nocked and released, each one with careful precision with her out-breath. They all hit the target, and quite well.

There is a squint from Theo at something Renata says. But all he does is lift his glass and takes another sip as his deep blue eyes watch the archers. Looking to see where Skaldia's hawk went.

Libera the hawk is sitting on the back of Skaldia's chair, watching the archery with bored amber eyes, as if to say, 'Where's da prey?'

A sound slips from Patrizio, as he's joining the gaggle at the table in the corner, with a keen eye turned towards the archery targets as they're being taken aim at. "I don't know that I could be doing that out there," he says with a breath, and a smile behind that glass of wine of his. "I'm far happier with a sword in my hand when it comes to daring do with military matters."

Titania is so never going to love it down that Jan went around telling people she one of the best shots around, she just has luck when it comes to taking people out that are holding the people she loves hostage thats all! Her bow is brought out and her light fingers move to take a arrow and knock the bow. She has so many watching her! Calm, breath! She pulls back the first one and lets it go to hit the target. It hits and then she moves a little and lets the second go, there is a wince as she breaths faster and then the third and it hits.

The Hart's Sergeant of Arms grunts quietly and nods as the arrows, one after the other fill the targets. Some closer than others to its center. "First round to Missere Skaldia of Harrow. Ladies, if you please, take 15 paces back and shoot at your leisure," he gruffly but politely asks.

"I understand that it is against the idea of the very breath and heart of the sip'n spars. Though a little competition of some diplomacy before diving into an attack? Is that too much?" Renata holds her glass up in one hand and offers some insight to the spars, then quickly losing focus as her gaze slips to the magnificent, albeit terrifying bird, but 'pretty bird!' The ruffling of feathers leaves the princess in a state of 'fluffy bird' as she seeks to not reach out and try to stroke at the hawk's chest. Looking back to conversation at the corner table.

Skaldia gives a little bow to the Sergeant of Arms, and another to Titania, before she takes the requisite fifteen steps back. She waits until the Countess is ready as well, before she draws a breath, lifting the bow again. Her own hawkish gaze fixes on the target, now farther away, judging the distance. Then she draws an arrow from the quiver, and nocks it, drawing it back again as before. She lets out a soft breath, and the arrow is released along with it, followed by two more. She seems to tune out the crowd, the whispers, the murmur of voices. It's just her, and the target, and a hawk that is now eyeing Renata warily in return, tilting her head this way and that as she perches on the back of Skaldia's otherwise, hopefully empty chair.

There is a burst of a laugh that comes out of Theo from his table. When he realizes that he might be disturbing those that are competing he ducks his head and tries to give a smile that says sorry, sorry.

Titania looks to Skaldia blinking, she shakes her head but she continues to smile! She takes the fifteen steps back and again steadies herself and pulls a arrow knocks it and lets it go at the target. It hits, she nods and is happy with this. She perhaps starts to whisper a soft prayer as she knocks the next one to let it go a habbit perhaps. She lets the third one go they hit at least, perhaps not the best but they are in the target!

Patrizio grins himself, even as he's glancing at the laughing Theo, with a look that speaks to him /not/ being sorry for whatever drew forth the laugh.

Again the arrows fly and the crowd cheers as each one thuds and buries itself deep into the straw target. No arrow seems to go amiss and for now the one that rests in one of the beams above sits alone. The Hart's Sergeant of Arms nods once and says, "Well done. If you would take another twenty paces back, ladies." he instructs nodding to the arena's staff to reset the target. Only when the men have cleared the space does he call to Titania and Skaldia both. "Fire when you are ready, upon my mark. Ready... set... go!"

2 Saik Guard have been dismissed.

Micana, an efficient assistant have been dismissed.

Watching the arrows fly is a fascinating thing to do, Mirari enjoys it, she admires both archers equally, seeming impressed by their skills. You never quite know how it will turn out, and so she's sipping wine and looking curious to see who will land what.

Nodding to the Sergeant at Arms, Skaldia glances to Titania, giving her a shy little smile. Then she takes another twenty paces back, and lifts her bow again. Another arrow is withdrawn from her quiver, and she nocks it, taking up her stance once more. She lets out a soft breath, and a little bead of sweat appears on her brow. Maybe she's more aware of the crowd than she lets on. She lifts a gloved hand, wiping her brow, then she draws the arrow back, and aims. Squinting just a little, she focuses on the target, and lets the arrow fly. It hits the target, and she does the same with two more arrows. When she's done, she wipes her brow again, and lets her bow's butt rest on the sand at her feet, glancing over to Titania.

Titania takes the twenty steps back and she lvls the bow again, trying to keep the background noise out and listening to herself ay a soft prayer to Mangata as she shoot, it hits! A breath is let out, she is feeling it now, the bit of stress tightening in her chest and stomach. The laugh Leo lets out seems to have caught her attention and her next shot does not hit as she wanted and she sighs. A hand comes up to wipe across her own brow and she lets the third arrow go and then looks to Skaldia.

The tension is palatable and the room grows quiet and arrow upon arrow finds it's mark. Breaths are held and wagers tabled as the Hart's good Sergeant of arms calls out. "ROUND FOUR! Tallies scored. Ladies, if you would step 20 paces back and shoot at your leisure!."

Ms. Fluffy Bird over here sitting all pretty upon her perch has Renta's attention when the last volley of arrows are let loose. the hard 'thwaps' of fletch hitting their target pulls the princess' attention as she lifts from table to stand upon seat and clap for both Skaldia and Titania. "That's a lovely display of skill!" Looking to the others at the table in the corner, "See. I can get behind shows of skill as such. It's the..." A wave of her hand towards Patrizio and Mirari, "I absolutely adore you both. You must know this. Just the stabby bits..." She shakes her head a little in retaking her seat. Then to look to Theo, "Would there be cause to have a test of skill in who can throw their wine better?" A sly smile upon her lips. "You know. So you might learn to dodge better?"

Glancing at the Sergeant at Arms with a bit of a frown, Skaldia glances behind her, then toward the target. Drawing a breath and letting it out, she steps back another twenty paces. "Never shot from so far away before," she says, with a look to Titania. "Good luck, my lady!" She steps into her stance again then, and draws another arrow from her quiver. She nocks and aims at the target, swallowing her nerves visibly, then closes her eyes, slowing her breathing. After a moment, she opens her eyes again and focuses on the target. Her arrow flies, and somehow she seems to think it's going to hit, because even as it hits the target, she's drawing the next and nocking it. Release. Draw. Nock. Release. And then it's done. She lets out a sharp breath, and wipes her brow again, squinting at the target to see how well she did. Then she takes a step back, and looks to Titania. Libera, meanwhile, is too busy preening herself to pay attention to the contest.

Mirari is overheard praising Valencia: A lovely hostess!

Mirari is overheard praising Patrizio: A great sparing partner!

Theo also takes a moment to applaud both Skaldia and Titania. But he's not clapping so loud that he does not hear what Renata has said. He gives her a charming smile. "So this would be called wine and dodge?" Said ever so cheeky. He doesn't answer her question about whether or not he should dodge better or not.

Valencia is overheard praising Skaldia: Truly impressive skill with a bow shared upon the sands. Very well done!

Valencia is overheard praising Titania: Such grace while firing a bow is not often seen. Impressive showing by the lady.

Skaldia is overheard praising Titania.

Titania breaths deeply, "Nor I, good luck." she tells Skaldia her arm is brought down with her bow and she shoots, first shot is okay. Alright we are doing good! the second shot not good it slips off the target and bounces. Her shoulders slump slightly, then the first one is shot and it hits but barely. She lowers her bow looking to Skaldia, "Thank you for allowing me to shoot along side of you." she smiles, "I am Lady Titania Kennex."

Titania is overheard praising Patrizio.

Valencia is overheard praising Renata: A gracious delight that brings a joyful light to any event. So happy she has joined us.

Again, the crowds go wild, both archers receiving cheers. But in the end there can only be one winner. As the crowd roars, the Hart's Sergeant of Arms gives a nod as he steps back into the center of the ring and holds up his hands. "Another fine match. Give a cheer for your winner, Missere Skaldia of Harrow!"

The crowd rises to show their approval, and again the man waits till at least a little calm comes. Holding up a hand again. "Thank you, ladies. An excellent match. And now to our next! Who will take to the sands?"

Valencia is overheard praising Theo: Gallant and kind. The one of the best of cousins a girl could have.

Valencia is overheard praising Lucita: Dearest Baroness, such a fine friend. Thank you.

Valencia is overheard praising Patrizio: Thank you for your continued support of the Hart. So grateful for your championing our causes.

Titania is overheard praising Renata.

Titania is overheard praising Valencia.

Titania is overheard praising Skaldia.

Skaldia watches Titania shooting, and then she smiles to the Kennex lady, offering her hand in a friendly handshake. "It was a pleasure shooting with you, my Lady. Skaldia Harrow. I'm a huntress of the Lodge, and a Disciple of Petrichor. You'd always be welcome to come out to the lodge. We could go hunting together, if you like." She then turns as the Sergeant of Arms announces her as the winner. Skaldia gives a shy little smile as she glances around at the cheers. She offers a little bow, but she also colors from her neck to the roots of her hair.

Applause, too, comes from the archduke of Setara, even as Patrizio's watching Renata and Theo for a few moments, that chuckle of his as he's shaking his head. "My highness," he calls forth to Valencia, while he's glancing at his cousin and the prince of the Lyceum, "I think there are a pair up here who are contemplating their own turn upon the sands. Though you might wish to have Messere Master Barkeep lock up the better stock."

Skaldia has left the ring of valor.

Titania nods her head, "It is a pleasure to meet you Skaldia, I am also a disciple of Mangata." she smiles, "Perhaps we can arrange a meeting, I have not been to the lodge before and would like to see it."

Smiling to Titania, Skaldia inclines her head. "I would like that, my lady," she says. Then she takes up her bow, and slings it onto her back, stepping out of the ring. She leads the way back to the corner table, and slumps down into her chair, still a little bit flushed. Libera hops back onto her shoulder, and trills in her ear. Skaldia gives a little chuckle, and pulls out another bit of meat. "Good girl for not flying around the arena," she tells the bird. She feets the meat a little more discreetly this time, hoping to hide it from Renata's viewing. Maybe she noticed more than she let on!

Skaldia has joined the corner table.

Titania has left the ring of valor.

Titania has joined the corner table.

In the call for additional spars to take place Renata is listening to something whispered by Theo only to step back from the table grabbing at her wine and marching over towards Valencia. A wave of her hand holding the white white, a Pravus Buttercream. "Oh. I've got a challenge!" Her smile is filled with mirth. "In honor of Prince Theo's grand ability to put his foot within his mouth on multiple occasions. And in an attempt to not make an individual scene, /again/ I challenge him to a tossing of wine upon the sands." She raises her glass to him before taking another sip. The princess looks to have had a few glasses already, her stance has a small leanto within how she steps when looking to the bar. "I'll make use of a fresh glass of this buttercream. Prince Theo, would you prefer a red or a white?" Only to cut him off before he's allowed to answer for himself, "No you're a red wine... He should make use of a Lenosian red."

"He's definitely a Lenosian red," Mirari says of Theo with a little smirk. "That's a fantastic idea, I cannot wait to watch. I think we all need another round," the woman says, putting in her order.

Valencia turns to smile as Renata approaches and then blinks twice -- once with shock and the other with confusion. "You wish to toss wine at my cousin or at a target?" she asks with a look to the Hart's sergeant of arms and back. The Sergeant's bushy brows dip as she looks at the Pravausi princess and then to Valencia. For a moment, Valencia's lips part as if she seeks words. Turning to her cousin Theo she asks, "I... well, we have throw worse things I suppose. Cousin, are you willing to accept?"

Patrizio would know that look Theo gives Renata. Its that 'sorry, sorry, ' look he gave when he bursted out in laughter when the archers were competing. He is slow to rise from his seat as if he has not a care in the world. Wonder what that quiet exchange was and it has Renata calling out for a spar? With wine? He simply says, "My, oh my, dear princess." He was going to say his wine choice and she's already speaking for him. A shrug to shoulders as if he could not be bothered, "If this is what it will take to settle things, then fine. I will spar with you." He does throw a wink at Valencia once he approaches both princesses closer.

Skaldia leans her bow and quiver against the wall behind her chair, then settles back, arms folded as she watches with a somewhat flabbergasted expression as the Princess challences the Prince to a wine-toss. She glances at Titania, Patrizio and Mirari briefly, lifting her shoulders in a little shrug, then back to them. "Well that sounds like fun," she says, "but it would be more fun if they threw it at each other, rather than just on the sand," she notes. "Of course, that would ruin the Princess's pretty dress, so maybe not," she adds. She hasn't had any wine, herself.

When Valencia asks for confirmation in whether or not Theo will accept he does a bowing of his head to. "Yes, yes, I accept." He really is not taking this seriously and is already thinking in his head how entertaining this is. He does shrug out of anything white he had been wearing. Just in case. He's learning.

For his own part, Patrizio looks perfectly innocent as he's settling back at the table, with a gesture to the servers of the Hart that for /him/, it's to be a Setarco Fire at this point. The clank of those boots of his as he's shifting position there, before he allows aloud to Skaldia, "You don't know, Messere Harrow, that they don't intend to throw it at one another. You weren't present, I don't think, for the prior event that inspired it." Though he's grinning, watching Renata and Theo preparing for their turn as competitors in the Hart's event.

"Well, then. A challenge is issued and accepted!" Valencia calls out only to stop. "Your pardon, both. You mean to drink in contest or to throw?" she pauses to clarify the terms of the match clearly not seeming to understand why one would be throwing what one should be drinking instead.

Renata has left the corner table.

Renata has joined the ring of valor.

Skaldia chuckles at the confusion on Valencia's part, and she seems a little confused herself. To Patrizio, she replies, "Well, I think you'd be right. I wasn't there. So if they don't intend to throw it at each other, what is the purpose? Alcohol abuse?" She peers at the Prince and Princess who are about to face off, confusion written on her freckled face.

Theo has left the corner table.

Theo has joined the ring of valor.

Titania has left the corner table.

Umi, the curious turtle, 1 Kennex corsairs leave, following Titania.

Valencia's mouth works a little as she struggles with making sense of this. The Hart's Sergeant of arms raises a bushy eyebrow and folds his arms and then shakes his head and giving the little vixen a look goes about overseeing the ring laid out for the next match. "You realize that when we say drinking contests, it is usually drinking not throwing it about yes?"

Patrizio grins behind his glass as he's taking a sip, the heated exhalation that comes with having his preferred beverage. "No, it's very likely at each other," he answers Skaldia. "It's based on something that happened at the Saik family birthday - the twins and their cousin, the baroness." There's a glance, by he, to Lucita's empty seat, before he continues. "Though I'm also not taking sides in this little affair, since by honour, I need take my cousin's side, which would force her highness to take his highness' and..." There's a teasing cluck of his tongue, even as those jade eyes shift to Valencia for a moment, watching. "The fun of rivalries between the houses of the south."

When Theo gets to the ring of valor he's rolling his sleeves. He has no intentions of throwing punches. Just wine. He smiles sweetly at Renata and even blows her a kiss. "So this is what happens when we can't settle matters like a civilized person? We get to throw wine to each other for all to see? Fine, bring, it on my dear, dear, princess." When his red wine is given to him he nods his head in thanks as he waits for any comments from Renata before he does his first throw.

"Rise and stand! Our next match is called," he announces his sharp eyes sliding to Renata and Theo who next enter the ring. "Princess Renata of Pravus and Prince Theo of Velenosa! You've been called to the sands. May your fight with honour and fire in your heart," he nods briskly to each as he steps back out to give them room. A looooooot of room. "Fighters, present yer arms, err, your booze. No cheatin'," he says sternly. "Good fright! LAY ON!"

Mirari cheers and puts two fingers in her mouth to make a VERY loud whistle in their collective favour.

Renata lifts her skirt to take a step out to the fields. Wine glass renewed as she still sips from it. Looking to the sands as her slippers sink in each step, only to step back to edge of the field to remove her slippers and hand them over to assistant. A silly little grin upon the princess' lips as her feet slip into the sands as she gives a wiggle of toes into the grounds. Trying to look serious as she walks back to a space upon sands where she can stare down Theo while she turns her head to look away from him and sip her wine while raising glass to the corner table. Finally looking back to Theo and renewed wave of her wine glass where the white buttercream within sloshes around. "Civilized? Now you want to speak as Civilized? Where was this diplomacy as you were seeking to whisper your sweet nothings. Which where just... /Nothing./ Let's see what you're best aim might bring us?" Renata winks towards Theo as she seeks to swirl her wine, pulling her glass back to either take another sip or to throw it in his face.

Valencia moves to stand beside the table where Patrizio, Mirari and Skalidia are currently sitting, her arms folded lightly and her brow furrowed slightly. Her expression a mixture of amused and most certainly bemused. "I am wondering if the viscosity of the libation makes a difference," she muses, her dark eyes locked on the match."

Theo is still very carefully walking around the sands. He also did kick his shoes off before coming in here fully. His wine lifted above his head. He is trying to figure out what is the best strategy in this. A dramatic gasp heard. "That is not what I heard coming out of your mouth my dearest. You say nothing? I do not believe you. So are you a liar now as well as a wine thrower?" This is a new concept to him he's not one to throw wine at another person and there goes the red as he aims it in Renata's direction. Whoops. He barely hit her. Now he might need to worry to see what her payback will be. But he stands there to take on whatever she throws at him. At least this time he is prepared.

Patrizio blinks briefly, before he nods to Valencia. "Oh, most assuredly it does," he says with a chuckle, and a consideration of the two upon the sands. "Much less how much it'll stain whatever they're wearing."

The banter on the sands draws a collective gasp as shots are shot-putted and tongues unleashed. All eyes are upon the pair as the circle each other upon the sands.

Renata gasps at Theo her jaw slightly agape as she lets out breath towards him, "I..." A shake of her head in stepping to side of his attack in thrown wine only to take a step closer to him. "I am not a liar. You're the one of the lands where they prize themselves of being the best liar. I am Pravus, or Setarco. Only the kindest of words and thoughts to escape of my lips. If you're hearing things, we could find an Archlector to check if you have a demon following you? Would you need a physician maybe?" As she gets closer with each step she takes a small sip of her chosen 'weapon' then smiling to him. "It would be a waste to use /all/ of this upon you." Then tosses the rest of the glass at him with a splash in his face. She stops in front of him with a giggle, raising her hand to lips. Softly, "Oh. That did hit." Quick to step back from him so she might get a refill of her glass.

"Gentles! I beg you, even in jest! I beg you peace and not such savage jests upon your houses," Valencia calls out with a little look of worry. "Let us not overstep in our fun. Please!"

This is not going according to plan. Did Theo have a plan? Apparently not. He waits patiently to have his glass refilled. In hearing his cousin's worry he gives her a small nod to show he takes heed to her warning. He also had been watching Renata as she came closer with her taunting. His free hand goes to his chest as he tells her, "You were the ones that had decided to split from us." Us who? He doesn't continue on that vein remembering what Valencia had said. He tries to play Renata's game and starts to circle around her as he attempts to figure out his next plan of attack. Oh look that red is aimed in the direction of Renata's face. Fair is fair. But he trips and instead this wine actually ended up on the sand and he's on his butt as he laughs to himself needing a moment before getting up. He starts to scuttle backwards like a crab. He doesn't want to get to close to Renata and her aim.

"They will either kill each other or marry by next season," Valencia muses aside to Patrizio and Mirari.

Mindfully, from where he's resting off to the side, there's a clearing of the throat by Patrizio at Theo's jest, before he calls out, "Your highness, please remember before whom you stand and speak." This is, indeed, in the wake of Valencia's warning to the two of them, before there's a shake of his head. "He's fortunate that I'm of good mood and know that he's only jealous that more couldn't join us when there was the schism between the houses." And he takes another sip from his Fire, before there's that smirk of his, and a breath - a glance to Mirari, but a more determined look to Valencia. "You know that if it gets that far, /I/ have to handle that contract, yes?"

"I should hope that they would find their own way to a match that pleases them both, your Grace, but I have faith if it is to be you to negotiate the formal agreement that they will both be treated well and fairly," Valencia smiles aside to Patrizio. "Not that I would wish to mettle, but upon my word, I am deeply fond of both and I think they are well matched... for the most part?" she winces as Theo gets a doused.

As Renata's glass is refilled she nods to Valencia, a soft "I'll speak with better elegance. It is all for fun, yes?" Turning back towards Theo with another sip of her wine, as she cannot waste it upon him entirely she's left with a laugh in his fall to the ground. Stepping over to where he sits in the sands. "My dearest prince Theo. You've found yourself in a spot where you're probably best. Upon the sands to look up to your betters. You wish to make use of diplomacy? Perhaps you should start from your new viewpoint and offer apology. I hear being upon one's knees is a good spot to grovel from." Her lips slip into a smile as she sets to pour some of her drink upon him, tripping within the sands as she sets to step closer to him and landing in his lap where her own wine splashes at her. In ne gasp for how the wine has landed upon her and now sitting in his lap she looks to him to steal a sip of his wine and uses his glass to pour it over his head. "Yes. That should count."

Skaldia squints at the two royals wallowing in sand and wine, and presses her lips together. "I think this is where I shall make a swift exit," she murmurs to Patrizio and Mirari. Then, silently, she picks up her bow and rises to go. She gives a dip of her head toward Valencia, then she quietly makes her way out.

As Skaldia announces her departure, she looks away from the rather entertaining wine fight and gives the woman a smile.

Skaldia has left the corner table.

Libera, a quiet hawk leaves, following Skaldia.

A chuckle slips forth from Patrizio as he salutes Skaldia at her departure, but Patrizio, too, is keeping his eyes upon what's afoot on the sands. "I only wish that the Baroness had lingered to see this. This would probably be far more entertaining a duel to settle the Saik quarrel with the prince than whatever their champions dream up."

"I beg you, cousin! Concede and offer her your hand in peace! You have clearly met your perfect match!" Valencia calls out cheerfully as Renata takes the lead with eloquent words to punctuate her advantage. To Skaldia a little nod an then a thoughtful pause that is tucked away for later as she moves to share a private word with Mirari.

Theo has a princess on his lap. He gives her a smile, it might even be a bedroom smile. Whoops. But they are upon sands and there is an audience watching him. She's just given a look as he nods to show he's listening to her even as she insults him further. He even goes as far as touches her hair as he continues nodding and smiling. His glass is given freely only for it to be dumped on him and he's trying to wipe his face and shake the wine out of his hair. Which he hopes that some drops of red end up on Renata anyways. "I will not apologize. I did nothing wrong. You were the one to throw wine at me in that event." Yes, he's airing some of their dirty laundry for all to hear as he just down right stares at Renata. But he's not finished yet as he gently pushes her off of his lap and does not go on knees. No, he rises and goes to where the wine filler is as he figures out his next plan of action. At the last minute he does offer his hand to Renata as Valencia told him to but its merely to draw her up and off the ground so that they are both equals.

Theo is not going to win at this game. So far he's wearing more wine then she is. But a spar is a spar. Instead, he merely flicks some of his wine. at Renata when she rises. He has a feeling she's going to best him. Then he starts to drink his wine. Maybe that is what he should have done in the first place.

Renata finds herself from lap of prince to sitting in the sands. A splash of the prince's wine from her dressing of him mingles into the honeysilk she wears. A small nod more to herself as he slips off to get more wine, then he's offering his hand to her. A dubious stare to him in that hand he offers. While she looks to the sands and tries to push herself up she's not getting very far other than to her knees. Finally holding out her hand with palm downwards. "You did nothing wrong?" Her eyes squinting at him as she takes his offer to stand, stumbling a little into him as she seeks to hold her wine glass with small amount of wine within it still. A look to her wine glass then back to him. "Do you really wish me to air /Exactly/ which you said upon the dance floor at Lady Medeia's party? Innocent? You? Never." A small pause as she takes sip of the wine leaving a few drops within the glass, "Besides. This is for what you've said since. Mister silver tongued, Prince Theo." In her last words the rest of her wine finds itself thrown at Theo with splash back towards her for how close she stands to him. The buttercream wine running down her face and his, she's left to start laughing. "I need more wine." Turning to find where her assistant is to have a refill of the buttercream.

A smile is offered to Mirari and affectionate bow of her head. "Thank you," she smiles anew. Discussion concluded, Valencia returns her attention to the ring. A slight furrow is found upon her brow as she gages the interactions on the sands. With haste she begins to make her way toward the ring. "Your hignesses, I beg a parlez. A moment, please?" she intones as she approaches the pair.

When Valencia asks for a parlez he does stop and gives his attention to her. His glass is refilled again but he only seeks to drink from it as Theo waits to hear what the hostess of the night has to say.

Valencia has joined the ring of valor.

Almost as if to see what's about to come from the discussion of a parlez, Patrizio leans forward in his place, finishing his drink and setting the vessel down, while those jade eyes consider what's afoot.

Having spent most of the wine-fight enjoying her own glass, far from the trajectory of any spilt stuff, Mirari whispers quietly with Valencia for a moment. Then as the woman goes to speak with Theo, she turns her attention back to Patrizio. "I think I may have to get the highlights from you later, I should get back to things. Feed my cats. They are terrors when they are fed, Gods knows what they will do to the neighbourhood, if left hungry." Mirari does pause to see what will be said though.

There's a lot of murmuring going on between the trio found in the ring of valor. But its Theo who has his hand raised up with his glass and a bow of his head to both ladies by him. "Yes, yes, I will agree to this." His look is fond for Valencia and there is a flicker of something towards Renata before he goes back to murmuring.

Patrizio watches while the conversation is afoot there upon the sands and... the archduke smiles, the turn of that gaze to Mirari. "I promise to give over to you word of what's agreed upon here. I would concur that it is likely not a good thing to have them attempting to raise insurrection within our ward. Or in the Lowers." That comes with a chuckle, and.. then a more serious glance towards the three in the ring when Theo speaks.

Chuckling Mirari looks at Patrizio, "it's not our ward I'm especially worried about, it's when they launch their siege on the Valardin Ward," the woman winces. "They've no doubt got a taste for Oathlands mice and it will be my undoing."

Renata raises her glass to Theo, "A well met match of both words and action in knowing how to best wear your wine." Her lips curving to a smile in something Theo says to her upon the sands as she nods to Valencia for her words. "Peace. For the moment. It shall be."

"Thank you both. You again prove that wiser heads and good hearts prevail even in the heat of such a battle," Valencia smiles between the prince and princess with a look of fondness.

Stepping to forward, she takes up a glass and speaks out to all those gathered. "It was a hard match, well fought. Ripe with fire and passion that is often found in the good hearts of those from my southern home. But as fierce the fire, is the compassion and desire to rise and stand together."

"It with this I ask all here to rise to toast our fearsome combatants and to raise our glassed to each other and to our compact," Valencia calls out. "For as hard as we fight in jest or seriousness, in the end we know that we are best when we stand as one. To you all and to our Compact's victory and freedom!"

At the call from Valencia, there's a gesture from Patrizio to a server for a glass of wine - /just/ wine - so that he might raise a glass in celebration of the pair that are on the sands. "And to our hostess for her kindness in having us all here," counters the archduke, as he rises to his feet. "And may the Compact Endure!"

Mirari has left the corner table.

The crowd calls out in turn and glasses are raised and the revelry continues on. Another Sip'n Spar is done for now. Who knows what will come in future.
