Seawell's Fate has started at Outside Arx - Lyceum near Nilanza - Small Islands off the East Coast of the Lyceum.

Almost a week ago you volunteered to help the Redbeech, a tribe/clan of abandoned, with a medical problem. You investigated that problem and helped as much as you could and discovered that the problem was some sort of environmentally based poison and that some of the Redbeech clan believed a curse to be at work. Following up on the curse angle you went to the Seawell clan and leaned on their leader, Rodal, until he told you that he knew a cure for the curse. He presented you with a list of ingredients and you have spent the last few days gathering those. On the last trip, a visit to a place called Gruffshade Island, you rescued one of the Seawell who had been hunting for the same blue flower as you. Now you are on board your ship, on your way back towards the islands, deciding what you want to do next.

Valerius takes a backpack for books or bottles from a leather satchel with Malespero sigil on the flap.

Valerius takes Nilanzian Universal Paralyzer, a 100 herb liqueur from a backpack for books or bottles.

Valerius drops Nilanzian Universal Paralyzer, a 100 herb liqueur.

With some of those blue flowers wrapped in cloth in her satchel, Medeia sits on the ship, mulling over some things. She's a bit tired and sore from the climbing and falling and being caught by Haakon (thank the gods), and somewhat frustrated from the whole 'not knowing what the fuck is going on with this supposed curse' situation. But something keeps rattling around in her mind. She looks over to the Seawells that are with them, considering for a moment, looks around at the group, then back to the Seawells. Finally, she asks, "Is Rodal's sister sick with the same thing afflicting the Redbeech? Is that why he sent you to find the flowers?"

Drake climbed, swam, and cut a few things. As far as he's concerned... his work here is basically done, while the people good at alchemy and medicine handle the alchemy and medicine parts. So... he's extremely relaxed, getting some sun on the back of the boat, with his shirt off to make the absolute best of it. Drake has found himself some rum. It's not that he's not listening of course, but he's not really asking questions.

Valerius is on the deck of the boat drinking from the paralyzer bottle, looking out to the sea from the railing. He turns to check that the flowers are safely tucked into the saik wine bottle and in his satchel. Handing the bottle over to Drake, "It's not whiskey, but it helps."

Neilda seems very suspicious. Which is... apparently just how she's gonna be. She nods at what Medeia asks. "We take this back to this guy, he's gonna take it so he can brew up a cure for his sister and -" she turns, away, not finishing the thought, but there might be an evocative gesture across her throat.

Thea is covered in scratches, a noticable slight swelling to her ankle. Other than that, all is grand with her. Being slamed into a cliff does that. She's sitting next to Neilda, listening in. There's a slight nod of agreement when thoughts are exchanged. "It seems unfair to those that are also effected..." That said however, THea slips her hand into her satchel, taking out the book. "I did take that book, with how to do everything.."

The warrior who's been acting as your guide to Gruffshade, and who's brother you just rescued, purses his lips stubbornly at the line of questioning but the injured man you just pulled off the mountain seems more open. His immediate response is mild surprise and unguarded. "The Redbeech are sick again? I thought." He suddenly decides that he shouldnt finish that line and instead gingerly shakes his head. "She's been sick for years. Tickjaw."

Haakon is in the same figurative boat as Drake. Also the same literal boat. En route back to the island, he is calmly preparing for betrayal and the possible necessity of murdering an undetermined number of fools, but none of that is here nor now, and so the reaver is blithely enjoying the voyage.

Valerius takes Nilanzian Universal Paralyzer, a 100 herb liqueur.

The journal is a fairly average work from a middle-grade alchemist/apothecary. It includes a few experiments and a few other recipes (most of which you already know) but little to no insight on where the recipe he sent you to get the ingredients for came from.

Neilda turns back on the warrior, who is suspiciously worse at keeping a game face than she is. "Can I poke him somewhere it hurts? Tell me where it hurts."

An diplomat.

Drake takes the wine bottle. "...Works for me." No problem mixing it up. He can't get too drunk... well, maybe he can. He knows that he'd just get in the way if he tried to do medical things, and he's fairly satisifed with how he's contributed to the ingredient gathering in other respects.

Unphased by the shirtless Drake (is Haakon shirtless too? probably - she might be phased, whatever, it's fine), Medeia shakes her head at Neilda. "No, we're not poking him where it hurts. We're not..." She presses her lips into a thin line, looking out at the water for a moment, to clear her head - and line of sight. "Tickjaw?" She looks back at the man before looking at Thea. "We learned about that... It fits. Doesn't it?" She turns back to the man. "You say for years? That would be... Yes. There's no cure for Tickjaw."

Haakon is shirtless.

Most of the sailors are also shirtless. Its sunny out.

Valerius is slowly listening to the discussion about the prisoner. No, guest. No. rescue? And is nodding to Neilda's direction of poking whatever this person is to figure out more information. Though he might also have had too much of the Paralyzer not in the right mind. A little studder for starting out, though finds his footing. "Well-- Or-- How about some discussion before prodding the man? Here let's treat them as a guest. Good-- Person. Would you like some liqueur? You look like you haven't seen a proper drink in awhile." He pours some of the paralyzer into a cup and hands it to them.

"About four now." The rescued man says in response to the question. "The boss, Rodal, has been looking for a cure for years. Maybe this flowers useful for whatever the Redbeech have too?" The Seawell warrior on the other hand just watches Neilda thanks to her threat of poking. He does not, it has to be said, look particularly worried. And now thanks to Valerius they both have suspiciously strong drinks. The rescued man drinks his. His warrior brother does take the offered drink but he only drinks a little bit.

Thea looks over to Deia and nods her head. "It all fits, yes but as far as I know, there his no cure,"her eyes drifting over the bare chested men for a moment. It's allowed! Thea thins her lips, thoughtful for a moment. "I've been wearing gloves everytime I touch them, but it all does seem of something natural..."

In fairness, Neilda looks like the least likely person to poke someone ever. Sweetness and light and bristly annoyance at the way he shut up suddenly, because her skills are useless here. "They acted like the whole sickness was new."

Haakon adds toward the healers in a bland, unhurried voice, "Seems no mending, this 'cure'. Let's say the Seawell even gives it to us, and let's say further that it works. The Redbeach were being poisoned from the land or water, aye? They'll get sick again, like that one-" a gesture to the Shav, "Said they got sick, before. Rodal just used us to gather his sister's draught."

Drake sees nothing wrong with Valerius's plan, but he's not one of the doctors either. "So do we... not give it to them after all?" He's trying to keep up.

"They weren't sick when I left." Arri (thats the rescued Seawell) tells Neilda before grimacing at Haakon's words. He looks to his brother and the seawell warrior speaks up. "She deserves a cure."

Thea is curious now. Her gold-flecked green eyes pursue the seawell warrior when she asks next. "Why does she? Why not the others?"

"I hadn't intended to /give/ him anything." Medeia clarifies. "I still don't..." She falls silent, eyes meeting Haakon's as she consiers what he's said. "Thea," she looks back at her friend. "You've been wearing gloves, but they responded to treatment for poison?" The Harlequin pinches the bridge of her nose. "And the Redbeech, they've been... Getting far sicker far quicker than Tickjaw usually manifest. But it's similar. A poison made to mimic Tickjaw?" She sighs. The warrior's words draw her attention. "I'm inclined to agree, because I generally want people to be well. But is she involved in the hardships the Redbeech have faced all these years? What do you know about all their struggles?"

"Maybe they do, maybe they dont." the seawell warrior tells Thea. "Don't know any of them but I do know Kamlei's a good woman."

Medeia checks charm and empathy at hard. Medeia is successful.

Arri lifts his cup in Valerius' direction hoping for a refill. "Kamlei's not been able to stand for a year now. She can't have been involved in any poisonings but its hard to say no to Rodal. He always finds a way to make it happen."

Neilda looks at Arri, then at Medeia, then at Arri again, brows up, laughter in her eyes. "The poisonings?" she asks. Did he... just admit knowing Rodal was poisoning the Redbeech? She's /got/ to learn that lashflutter Medeia did. Sheesh.

Valerius has returned to sipping from the paralyzer and listening to the discussion of poisoning, then sees the cup in the air and proceeds to fill it to the very brim of the cup. "Well done. you get more now. keep answeing and you continue to get more."

Drake watches Medeia's interrogation technique, as it is, with some interest himself. It's always nice when ladies show a little additional talent.

Thea watches Medeia with an amused smirk. "So when are you going to teach the rest of use--"since clearly that wouldn't have been Thea's way. Not even a little. Then she hear's Valerius and she lifts her eyebrow a bit.

Arri shrinks a bit when Neilda turns on him, somewhat lamely defending with "If thats what happened." Valerius' words make him frown. He still accepts the alcohol though.

The Seawell Warrior moves over to put a hand on his brothers shoulder. "Time you stopped talking Arri."

Valerius listens closely to the two Seawells, then simply nods and walks back to Haakon and Drake. "Guess it's time for a more hands on approach for answers, unless the ladies have more tricks they would rather employ?"

Neilda flutters her lashes at the Seawell Warrior. Just to see how that works. It probably doesn't do anything. "If Rodal really wants this stuff, and he doesn't have it, we have the upper hand. We don't have to walk into his cramped little room and hand it over, wait to be escorted out politely. With pointy things."

She doesn't particularly care if Seawell's number seven and eight hear this.

Haakon drawls evenly to Arri's brother, keeping to the Arvani tongue, "Will tell you what's already known.. For some cause, the Arvani want the Redbeach to be healed. The Redbeach took I'll not long ago, and we found a landing on their isle where of your boats had set in. We already know it were one of your boats, by the scored keels, so don't waste breathe saying we couldn't. Rodal is a prick, heard him talk for ten minute, and I known that much. If he tries to fuck around with us in this aim, the Arvani will go away for now.. and then come back. With more ships than your tribe gas people. So.." A slow shrug, "How about you tell the nice ladies everything you can so we all go away soon and leave you lot alone."

Drake is still quiet for a second, while Haakon lays it all out. "I will be honest. I make a better, eh... good inquisitor, than bad inquisitor, as far as the interrogation process goes. On the other hand, I do carry a lot of sharp objects." He's not actively being meanacing, but he does indeed have a sword.

The warrior is smart enough to know the odds given his current situation and his brothers broken condition. He's also experienced enough to know that what Haakon says is relatively true. He purses his lips again as he looks between them all, not scared exactly but definitely not feeling that he has the upper hand either. "Like my brother said you do what Rodal demands you do or bad things happen." He looks between them all again. "But maybe if you'll forget about anyone except Rodal then we could make a deal?"

Neilda, sweetness and light, smile and dimples, suggests as an alternative: "Maybe tell us what you know, and we won't throw you overboard."

Thea watches the warrior evenly. Her expression unreadable. "You should probably talk to us--or the sharks I hear are better,"nodding to Nel in agreement.

"'Always finds a way to make it happen'?" Medeia winces slightly. She scrutinizes the brothers, her warm eyes flicking between them as they try to evade saying too much. She then observes as Valerius and Neilda and Haakon all try different approaches. Then the warrior asks for a deal. She begins to speak, adjusting her voice to be an exaggeration of her Lycene lilt, almost too sweet, "Hold on, Nel, Thea... Rodal seems to be a problem, even for his own people, no?" She looks at the brothers again, her eyes creasing in kindness, her expression offering a smile that says 'I'm genuinely concerned for you' (even if she isn't). "Roday sent your brother to retrieve these flowers. He could have died, had we not gone along to find him - and the flowers - when we did. Right, Arri? I bet that was a fear you had, that you'd die alone on that cliff? /Of course/ we can focus on Rodal," her eyes flick to Haakon for a moment, no reason.

Haakon gives Neilda an amused side eye. Back to the less drunk of the Shav brothers, "So long as the Redbeach and their fucking flocks stop thier sickness, I think none will care for the little folk who did as their chief told them. Tell us what Rodal has done," he backs up Medeia, adding aside to Thea and Nel with a wry near-smile, "Bloodthirsty fuckers, you two."

At this the warrior gives a soft sigh. "I think you know everything you want to already but if thats what you want - I'll share - but I want your sworn word that you'll let us both free, and any of our kinfolk you might come across, unharmed and in a place where we can thrive after."

Arri looks quietly at Medeia. "I didn't mind that. I wanted to visit Gruffshade." He goes quiet then, his head down a bit, as he waits for that promise.

Neilda gives Haakon some side-eye. "I'm just tired of the bullshit," she says, which explains a significant subset of all of her social interactions. Not here: ever.

Medeia nods, holding up a hand as she looks around at everyone. "I believe we can all agree to let your people, and both of you, be left well alone assuming you all leave /us/ alone to deal with Roal." She looks around again, confirming. "That is a promise we can make?"

Drake nods to Medeia. "Agreed. If it will get the information you need."

Haakon nods, amending, "Less any of your kin deal with demons or any such shit, or less they raise hands against us, aye, they'll be spared with you."

Thea smirks at Haakon. "Why hide shite when obviously--you are. When people are trying to help." Thea then looks to Medeia and the brothers before she nods,"I think we can make that agreement.."

"Lots of I thinks." The warrior says "I dont want a Lycene promise. I want a real one."

Neilda rolls her eyes, but lets diplomats diplomat. She may be going to peek over the side of the ship. Just checking for sharks. Probably not relevant.

There's a slight fidget as Medeia looks around some more. She's probably going to get dizzy from this, why is everyone so spread out? And making her look at them, repeatedly? Anyway, she's fidgetting a little. Lycene promise? /THey're/ the ones fucking posioning people. Ugh. She swallows and turns on a million-silver smile. "Of course," she says, definitely way-too sweetly. "It's a promise. No 'thinks' about it."

The warrior gives his brother a little nudge and then Arri starts speaking. "It isn't always bad, when he asks you to do something." Arri tells them. "But I think it might have been our fault. We went over to the Redbeech islands nearly two weeks ago but all we did was put a chest of metal fish in the pond. I had no idea anything bad would happen. He said it was an offering. We don't have anything like the pond on our island." he looks up at his brother again and then says "He made our mother sell them a sick cow once." The warrior speaks up then. "Thats all we know. We're tools not accomplices." he looks between the faces and adds. "That was not the deal I was suggesting. Can you heal Kamlei?"

"Oh." Drake sits up now, finally hearing something that sounds... simple. "So... you're saying we did this whole swim, dive and climb for nothing, when all we needed was to go get one chest from one pond?" He appears to be doing mental calculations, though he's not great at this. "Is it a heavy chest?"

Arri tells Drake. "You should be able to carry it."

Valerius looks somewhat far away, "But the swim, dive, and climb /were/ very relaxing--" He pauses, taking a moment that the others might not look at those events in the same manner. "And then a nice boat ride, drinks. If it wasn't for those two complaining about a curse or poisoning, this would have been a very nice little vacation." He continues to drink, as the rest of the conversation catches up with him, then a little sigh, "Who are we killing then?"

Neilda looks, again, skeptical. Does she know how to make other faces? "That doesn't sound like any kind of offering I've ever heard of." A toss of her hand allows for non-exhaustive knowledge.

Haakon adds to the Shav brothers, "Aye, when we reach Seawell idle, bid your kin not stand against us. Rodal's a dead man, none of the rest of you need join him." A look back at the others. "Mystery solved, time for a drink before we make land?"

"I don't personally like to kill someone unarmed," Drake says, displaying... a little distaste for this island justice, but not wanting to outright argue, either. "So I'll leave that to your capable hands."

With a nod, Medeia motions to Haakon and looks at the brothers. "What he said." But then she adds, with actual sincereity, not courtier-sincerity, "We," she gestures to Thea, "Will prepare for the cure for Kamlei, I promise that we will follow the directions in this journal and administer it to her. But we cannot leave ROdal in place to continue hurting people."

"There's always time for a drink!" Valerius hands the Paralyzer bottle over to Haakon.

Haakon shrugs to Drake. "As you like. Executions don't trouble me." WHAT A SHOCK. Valerius earns a smile as the reaver reaches for the offered bottle.

With this plan in place Arri spends much of the remaining journey trying to draw up a map showing where he put the chest whilst you all drink and prepare yourselves in whatever way seems reasonable. The crew stop at the Redbeech island first to allow those who wish to disembark before the confrontation with Rodal to do so and then heads on to the Seawell island.

Arri is lifted off the boat at the Redbeech island and taken to the medical huts by some of the Redbeech and then the group is free to head up to the pond to hunt for the chest.

For those who go to the Seawell island your response is just as glum and carefully curious as it was before only this time the warrior leads you confidently through the village and right to Rodal's hall. He looks at each of those with him and then raps on the door before stepping through. "Your hunters are back with their prizes Rodal."

Valerius wields a barbaric war axe with a crescent shaped edge.

Thea digs around in her satchel for the journal and starts making some notes. Tearing the paper, she jogs over to Medeia,"I'm heading over to help with the water,"her eyes looking at her friend, removing her gloves. Yeeeep..

As the group hatches their plan, Medeia gets a copy of the potion instructions from Thea and tucks it carefully in her satchel. She... Gives her friend a lot, LOT, of side eye, but there's just no time to get into an argument with her right now. Even if she really wants to. Instead, she whispers to Neilda, "Keep a really, really close eye on her." Then, she is disembarking at the Seawell island with Haakon and Valerius and being escorted back to Rodal. She is nervous, but outwardly, she seems cool and collected. Though, her eyes are darting around, taking in the Seawell people. The lay of the village. Subtly, fleetingly, in a manner that looks almost as if it were simply an accidental brushing by while walking, Medeia's fingertips trail along Haakon's forearm before the Seawell warrior announces them.

Neilda sees the way things are shaking out - but Haakon and Valerius, dynastic lords of desire to murder, are going with her sister. That's fine. She sighs, heads off with Thea and Drake to the /other/ island. "I /know/ I can hold my breath longer than you," she tells Thea. How does she know? Adventure! Probably. Drake? Well. She has no idea, but there are other needs than lung capacity here.

Drake likes doing things like diving and fishing and ... perhaps less killing. Not that he won't. But he just doesn't really love the idea. So instead of heading to confront the old man, he goes to help get the big chest out of the water. He knows he'll be useful in this task and the other task can be handled just fine without his direct input. "You're both capable swimmers. Feels like we were just doing one of these dives."

Redbeech side: When you get back to the pond, thanks to knowing what you are looking for, you soon find the marker left behind by Arri bobbing in some reeds. A wade out to the marker shows that its not actually attached to the chest anymore but a quick dive and check identifies it close to the deepest point in the pond. Its not that deep and any three of you can make it down there without much challenge but a few tugs show that whilst its well within the carrying ability of any of you getting it up whilst swimming is going to be far more complicated.. (OOC: You can either try to brute force it out or try rigging up something)

Valerius takes another pull from the paralyzer. He's good, not angry, just maybe... No. He can hold it all together. There's a chance to hit something, someone, that will calm him down. Or at least if he can start laughing again, that always calms him. All good. He's holding to his smile, focusing on the direction that everyone is going in. Putting the drinks away and making sure his axe is available. "Right, let's go wear-- Erm, let's go talk to Rodal."

(Redbeech Side is Neilda, Drake and Thea.)

Neilda in the water? Whaaaat? She pops back up, sweeps her wet hair out of her face, sputters. "I wonder if we can drag it out with some of that rope." A pause, then: "Might have to... lever it out with a stick or something if it's stuck. But no leverage down there. Hmm." Plan adjacent, okay.

Thea offers Medeia a brief smile, which quickly turns into a snort at Neilda. "Are we placing bets this time? I've been practing." No she hasn't. Not at all. There's a slight smile at Drake as well, as he's joining as well. And the best part? Thea isn't even surprised.

Swimming out to the marker, Thea starts treading water a bit. "Think we can have someone dive down and have them-get it UNstuck? Maybe it just needs a slight adjustment.."

Drake goes for the dive, and pops back up... nodding to Thea. "Right. Things aren't as heavy underwater. I'll give it a good pull first, and then... if we still can't get it, we'll try the rope." He takes another breath, and then he dives back down under.

Neilda sighs and splashes Drake in the face. Probably too late. "Or we can do it the hard way," she says, after he's already underwater. Deep breath, and she dives again to help.

Redbeech Team: Its not that the chest is terribly heavy or that the water is particularly deep. This problem facing Neilda, Drake and Thea is one of leverage. Its just really hard to apply muscle to something whilst you're submerged. Eventually though the three of them manage to get hold of the chest and relocate it to the shore.

Thea too takes a deep breath and down she goes to help Drake and Neilda. Yay swimming!

Haakon had put his clothing and maille back on once they had set out of Redbeach isle, attired and armed much as he was the first time they'd strode ashore. In manner, he is no different than their first visit, if anything slightly more at ease. A muttered word aside to Medeia, and they're brought to the Chieftain's lodge. The reaver keeps his shield slung across his back and his harpoon carried easily in the left hand. "Some fucking list, that were," he complains flatly upon entry, eyes looking about for the lord of the house.

Valerius takes Serpent's Tooth, a rubicund war axe from a leather satchel with Malespero sigil on the flap.

Seawell Side (Valerius, Haakon and Medeia): Rodal smiles wide like a cat who just got told cream is on the menu and waves the small group into the interior. "Give them here." He holds out his hands expectantly. An expression a dichtonomy between the emotion he is showing - that of a man forced to do something he doesn't want - and the eagerness he's hiding from all but the most perceptive (or those who know to look for it) "I will prepare it whilst you meditate for the ritual." The Seawell warrior who announced you moves further into the building until he's stood besides the only other way out.

Drake has a bit of a struggle at first, but... eventually, he gets underneath it enough to get some leverage, and since all three of them work together on this, they manage to wrestle with it and pull it ashore. Drake is very curious about this box. He looks to see how it opens... wondering mostly about these so caled metal fish.

Redbeech Team: The chest is not locked and flipping it over shows that it is indeed full of metal fishes. Picking a fish up causes it to fall in half in your hands. Its not the metal that was bad but whatever the gloop was thats tucked between the two metal halves. Many of the fish have only just begun to seep their contents out so you've kept much of it from entering the water and with water working how it works it should hopefully filter its way out of the water source before too long. You just cant say when.

Valerius takes a moment, looking to the axes at his side, then a deep breath and a little sigh is released as his smile widens. Looking to Medeia for a small aside before handing things over.

Neilda, likewise, would like to crack open this chest. Just to make sure that all that's in it is 'metal fish'. "I'm gonna collect some of this for Deia," she tells Thea, "- unless this is one of those 'try not to get it on you' situations. You know, like that that sap?" Another in an endless list of referneces, Thea will know what she means.

Inside the building, ROdal's behavior makes Medeia instantly alert. Even so, she continues to play it cool, remaining by the entrance, sort of blocking it as the warrior moves to block the other. Quietly, she speaks with Haakon and Valerius, nods, and proceeds to... not move. However, she does engage in a rambling sort of response to Rodal, in an effort to keep his attention on her, in that exaggeratedly sweet, naive version of her voice. "Yes, we got all the things! That was quite the adventure you sent us on. There was diving and climbing and standing and a little bit of healing and rescuing someone else stuck on a cliff with a broken arm." She is reaching into her satchel as she talks, very sloooowly acting as if she is going to produce the ingredients. She digs around, still talking, "Did you know that cliffs are hard to climb? I almost died! Thankfully Haakon caught me and we made it to the top and the flowers were there, but some were yellow and white and..." She just. Keeps talking. Holy shit, who knew she had so many words? And, whatever Haakon and Valerius do while she's talking? She'll try not to flinch.

Drake breaks a fish, and looks at it. "...Well. I suppose we've found the source of the-" A small pause, as he considers it. "Poison." Small beat. He realizes something. He stands up suddenly, and walks over to Thea who is putting her hands in the pond. He already knows what she's doing, and as soon as he sees it... He walks over, grabs her, and pulls her back with his hand, taking her hands away from the pond. "STOP. You've done enough. Thea."

Neilda glances at Thea, because that was... question-shaped. "Uh. Thea? You don't... want to... talk about..." Her eyes, blink thrice, and her mouth snaps shut, mouth a flat line, eyes ticking up, up, up. Why not. "Ok, cool, nice plan." She's not worried, you're worried. She looks away, shifts foot to foot, steps over, soggy. "She gonna be okay?" she whispers to Drake. Knowing a thing and seeing a thing are different things, so different.

Haakon answers Rodal directly and with great brevity. Without stopping his forward steps, the reaver draws his left arm back, whips the cruelly barbed point of the harpoon up onto target, and girls it without a word at the unarmored Chieftain's midsection. The rustle of the bolt's chain is a light whisper in the room for an instant before the spearhead pierces Rodal. It doesn't slay him outright, but any concern of Rodal Seawell fleeing is ended by the near mortal wound. "You heard him, aye?" the Prodigal quips to Valerius. "He wants you to let him have it. End the poisonous fucker."

Like being in a trance, Thea doesn't even realize what's going on until she's suddenly pulled away. And even then, she sort of just falls into Drake. "What? Oh--,"looking at the water and her hands. Hands that had momentarily turned black. "I'm--fine,"she quietly murmurs. "It's good now. I think it's good."

Drake pulls Thea into his chest, and lets her balance against him for a second... his eyes darkening just a bit. He knows what happened, but he couldn't entirely stop her from it... he's stopped her now, and now he's standing here, holding her. He looks at Neilda, and squints. "I think so. But... there's also nothing we can do for her right now except let her rest." He squeezes Thea's shoulder. "I have you."

Neilda has so much side-eye for this. "Super gross," she says, grimacing at the hands. "Where's her gloves go?" She goes to find them. A+ friending, honestly. If Thea walks up to the villagers with black hands, it might send the wrong impression.

Valerius steps forwards and with a single motion to holding out what could be the materials inside of a satchel is met with him kneeling and swinging his axe towards Rodal going for an incision starting at his right hip going upwards to severe the man in half. If one were to look at Val right now they wouldn't miss the large smile on his face as he starts to slowly laugh.

Seawell Group: (Valerius, Medeia, Haakon) After that laughter has rolled on for a bit the Seawell man clears his throat. "Medeia? The equipment is in here. I'll go." he looks back at the messy scene. "get Kamlei ready." Left unobstructed he soon ducks out of the building.

Thea likely isn't moving anywhere just yet, no matter how hard she tries to get her legs to work. That was--a lot. "What was gross,"Thea asks however, telling Neilda with a small grin. "They're over by the chest."

The sounds tell Medeia everything she needs to know about what the men have done while she pawed through her satchel, and Valerius's laughter has her lifting her head to survey the scene. She blinks, swallows hard, turns her attention to the warrior. "Thank you," she says, a slight waver in her voice. The notes from Thea, that copy of Roda's recipe and instructions, is in her hand and she looks at it. "This might not be the best time to admit that I don't know if I can do this..." Careful steps bring her around the mess and into the curtained off room with all of the equipment she needs. It takes some time, but eventually she finds all the tools and has all the ingredients prepared and combines thwm into... The cure. She actually looks relieved. Without a doubt, if ROdal's instructions were correct, and Thea's transcription didn't miss anything, she's made a cure for Tickjaw.

For Medeia: Once the medicine is prepared its just a matter of persuading Kamlei's nurse to give it to her. The warrior helps here when the nurse turns out to be his wife. Kamlei herself is as bedbound as everyone said and the cure does very little initially. By the morning though the woman (she must be in her early thirties) is claiming to have regained a little bit of feeling in her limbs. "I think its working!" she tells Medeia excitedly.

For Valerius and Haakon: After a while the warrior returns with a couple of others. "Its probably best if you go back to the ship for the night. Theres some confusion and I dont want things to get messy." his eyes drift to Rodal's corpse. "Er. Next time you come, with the Gods blessings, Kamlei will be in charge. I can't promise she'll be happy to see you." again his eyes drift to Rodal. "But she owes you."
