My collection of bringer skulls is pretty, but not big enough. I do so very much enjoy expanding it though. And yes, I say this, even knowing I will likely start receiving more angry letters now about inappropriate behaviour, though I somehow doubt I'll get raked over the coals for taking glee in this particular sort of slaughter. Then again, never underestimate the ability for people to get upset over things. Anyone care for a debate about Bringers rights to life?

I'm sure I'll never make a shot like that again in my lifetime, but -damn- did it feel good to stick an arrow in a herald's eye. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud of being able to do so from the ramparts as the siege first arrived. In the grand scheme of things, I know one shot won't be what makes the difference. Most of all, I look forward to the moment he crumbles under our collective efforts. We are all capable of more than we ever expected when everything is on the line. My world may be shaken as of late, but my faith in our people remains steadfast.

Been a lot of talk and a lot of thinking about gardens recently it seems like.
I think most people would consider the difference in gardens being ones that are raised for aesthetic value and ones raised for food.
I think that the real difference should be between those that are crafted and those that are allowed to live on their own. The shrine of Lagoma and the Stone Grove are both places where the plants have been allowed to take their own path, and that is far more interesting than the carefully crafted rows and placements of those gardens made for lords and ladies who want to look at pretty things and ignore what they really are supposed to symbolize.

I have often wondered whether the Vellichoran scribes operate with a skeleton crew throughout much of the week, but reinforce their numbers every seven days to handle the dramatic influx of journal deliveries. I will have to make a few inquiries to appease my curiosity.
P.S. Future reader in decades or centuries ahead, do not believe that the Vellichoran scribes were actually skeletons. It is a figure of speech. Thank you.

War comes to Arx. And I look from the balcony window with an eye to the port. I must confess I care little about this war besides the glory of my brethren who must unfortunately miss the death and rather Thraxian war that will take place in the Salt.

Relationship Note on Tikva
Lady Tikva possesses a youthful energy that is refreshing during a siege. No doubt that energy is what gives her the motivation to perform the duties which she does. She cares a great deal and finds the tales of others refreshing, which in many cases I would find to be intrusive and altogether unwelcome. When she asks however it seems out of genuine curiosity rather than some attempt at gathering information for her own uses. I look forward to learning more of her and the Riven's in general. Aside from her personality she is apparently a scout of some sort, which is a decidedly dangerous role from a military standpoint due to so often being separate of a larger military force and often rather close to, or even behind, enemy lines.
I'll pray to the gods for her continued safety.

Luca took a liking to me for reasons I'll never really understand, but I like him as well. We have very little in common on most days, but his guidance in the art of not being where people who don't like us are aiming has probably saved my life several times over. I've even managed to save his life, though that was just the right place at the right time. I'd say he is a good man but he'll likely read this, and might take offense. I am fortunate to know you, Frog Prince.

As usual, the Guildmistress' work is absolutely exquisite. The latest piece I've commissioned was more for function than beauty, but, even in that, Mistress Joscelin has created a work of art.
I was also more than happy to support her efforts to supply the city's medical centers as well. I might not be able to do much, but if honey infused soap can do it, it seems a ridiculously small price to pay compared to the efforts of others.

I wandered into a bar, yelled at the staff, 'saved' a princess, kicked a bouncer, and got vomit on my shoes. Is...Is this what it's like being a normal young person? Lord Mydas and Lord Karadoc have both been instrumental in establishing and organizing some of the foundational methods. Though much of our correspondence has been via messenger, no small portion is on subjects not many individuals could easily follow. Lord Mydas was recommended to me once in the past, though for a task of an entirely different nature. His talents were not unknown to me. Lord Karadoc's come as a pleasant surprise.

I have been quiet on the journals lately.
It is because I have had no words, but now they come.
Ainsley has returned to us and that gives me joy.
The Lady Tikva, a wash with life and hope, is good company for him.
Prince Edain is suffering greatly at the lose of his troops, how can he not be?
I did well on the siege gate battle and yet well is not good enough.
We are besieged and so many perished.
But there is hope and Ainsley is back, so there is most certainly hope.
Prince Edain thanked me for saving Prince Tristram.
I am am sure the Valardin would have dome the same for me.
They are very brave. Princess Deva is amazing, that shot.
I was part of the group that rescued Duchess Bella.
I fought besides Tobias. I was honored too. We killed many bringers.
But there are more. So many more.
Prince Luca, Sparte, Leta, Lady Eirene, Lord Artorius provided a distraction to help get supplies into the city.
It went well. We killed many bringers. Sparte saved Prince Luca. He is quite the warrior, Sparte.
