Relationship Note on Aislin

(Footnote attached to a diary entry)

The brave leader of an entire Society dedicated to nothing but exploration. If I knew of her glorious guild when I was younger, I'm certain I would have idolized her like I idolize Donella. But as it stands, I'm just happy to be counted among her acquaintances, if not future friends? In short: must talk more with her.

Relationship Note on Nadia

(Footnote attached to a diary entry)

Nadia's amazing! She's not only a Duchess with a heart of gold - Nightgold? - but a warrior, possibly even as talented as myself. Bonus points? She's also got a heart of mischief. We're sisters in spirit if not by blood, and I'm lucky to have met her.

Relationship Note on Monique

07/12/1005

Sometimes when you feel most like an ass, that someone comes tumbling back into your life when you least expect it. I didn't think I'd see Monique again for some time after we finished our years travelling together. I admit I did not leave her company in the best of light, and for some time I didn't think she'd exactly want to see me face again any time soon.

Consider my surprise when I found the opposite of that. Understood why I had return to my duty instead of galavanting around the countryside with her. Still, it's good to have her around again. Seems like we picked up exactly where we left off. Still the troublemaker she's always been. Seems like she took my training and left out the parts about staying out of said trouble.

I gripe, but it's good to see her. Nice to have a friend again. Especially one like her.

There are so many stories comeing in from outside of Arx. I have heard tals of unicorns, cratures that look like horses, but covered in scales and with a wicked horn upon their head. I have heard about creatures call Bringers of Silence which are being credited towards the dissapearances of ships. Entire ships! Let's not forget about the elves. I was told the Nox have no qualms in killing and eating people! How horrific! Though, it also seems the more of an ass you are, the more they respect you. I will have to remember that if I meet them, to try to artistically insult them. It makes me wonder if these things will come to the city. So now, despite it being frowned upon in Thraxian society, I am seeking a teacher who can help me learn how to handle a small weapon like a dagger. I do not want to rely on any man to protect me.

Relationship Note on Arturo

This man is a diamond in the rough. He has incredibly amazing talent with music. It's such a shame that he must live in squalor within the lower boroughs. I hope to befriend this incredibly shy musician. Besides, it is always good to have friends within the borough.

Relationship Note on Felix

Very large, burly, and quite handsome! He is also a rather talented crafter of weapons. He even made a very beautiful pair of hairpins for me. All he asked is for me to provide the stones I wanted to apply. This man is very friendly, which is a trait not often found in a Thraxian man. It's refreshing to meet a man of Thrax that does not put on the macho mask of asshole.

This roguishly handsome man is quite the mystery to me. We have shared tales and drink on multiple occasions. It is my intention to get to know this dashin man a bit better.

Relationship Note on Pietro

The voice of the march. I met this man quite by accident when visiting the menagerie. As I was gazing upon some birds, a squirrel fell into my hair! Completely startled, I began to run around and shriek. Pietro's hound came to my rescue! The hound leaped upon me, scaring away the squirrel, but leaving me in a puddle of mud. All I could do is appreciate the humor of the situation and laugh.

Relationship Note on Edain

Edain was a knight-errant in the last two years of my travels; a proud man who loved boar hunting and falconry. We got along well enough on the road, and I hope it'll work out just as well now that he rules the family.

Fine bout. I need to practice against polearms more, and spears - not many favor them here.

Seasilk. For so long it has eluded me. The price is high. The silk so rare. Yet, here I am with a pile of seasilk in hand. Lady Margot has commissioned me to create a wonderous item for her. A dress, made of seasilk. If I am successful in this endeavor, it may open up new opportunities for the future. I am excited. I am nervous. This is a big step for me in my crafting future.

Relationship Note on Reese

Such a chance encounter at the Temple to Gloria. She only offered her first name, and I have some small nagging thought that I should better recognize it. Still, it was far better to preserve the mystery I think. She's an intriguing one, with more riddles to unravel than one might think at first glance.

Visiting the Hall of Heroes, to me, is a bit like a sermon on history; a near-religious experience and step into the deep past. When I completed Lord Fiachra's second weapon, I asked him to meet me there so I could deliver it. Admittedly, I suspected he'd not yet been to the Hall and wanted to introduce it to him.

I think it's almost as enjoyable seeing someone else discover the wonders of the Hall for the first time as it is to see it that first time yourself.

My meager attempts shall endure:

'Tis difficult, I find, offering verse on demand -
thoughts to words, pen in hand.
(written quickly else they disappear
unfortunate and suddenly, I fear)
They flee, erased - as swift as tides clear the sand.

It has been a quiet week. Which is really to say, I've barely had much chance to manage being social considering my current to-craft list. It is good to continue to be busy, for certain, and I've been of a mind to enjoy my own company lately anyhow.

I have considered perhaps doing a bit of something to the back room of the shop. Make it a little less just-storage and a little more usable. Somewhere to keep those wonderful treats Matron Teldra is so kind to basket up for me.

I have a bunch of, "I should"s on my to-do list that I really should be better at pursuing. Soon, maybe.

A veritable fortress all by himself. He is a talented warrior and these exercises to prepare for the future ahead of ourselves do him little justice. He is ready for the struggles ahead.

Relationship Note on Pietro

A fierce warrior who moves around the battlefield with a spring in his step. He owns a hound trained for battle and it became a little antsy during a recent teamwork duel that we participated in. The hound joined in and had to be knocked in the head to prevent it from claiming my leg as it's own.

The Lord may not have liked that I had to pommel it twice to get it to stop harassing me during the battle. I am uncertain.

Relationship Note on Tristram

An archer. He and I recently faced off against a pair of opponents and their hound. While we ultimately lost the bout, I'm happy to say that we held our own. It was a stark lesson in the precarious nature of battle, particularly when you are essentially tethered to another individual that you're seeking to protect.

He seems a good sort and will do his House proud during the dark times on the horizon, I suspect.

Today was… not the best of days. It began well enough; I attended the Southport Training Center with my sister in order to give her some instruction in the art of swordplay. This went well enough, she picked up the basics of the flat parry with ease. I was impressed with the knowledge she’d already attained- her grasp of the basics put her well on her way to being an able sword-maiden. A friend of hers, a woman named Leola, arrived partway through the lesson and I gave her some instruction as well, though admittedly my knowledge of the spear is considerably lesser than that of the sword. It was after this that things took a turn for the worse. A man named Sigurd arrived and we sparred. He beat my soundly, cutting my steel armor to pieces with that rubicund sword of his. I’ve come to the conclusion that I need some new armor, and a new blade as well.
