The Shrine is full of people today and a lot of those people are actually children who are running around screaming and chasing each other with paintbrushes full of paint, "If we could just try to keep the paint on the rocks--" Sabella is attempting to say every time those particular youths come running nearby. Otherwise she's brightly smiling and standing by a table that's been set up with a number of plain rocks and a rainbow variety of different paints and differently sized paint brushes, "Please feel free to sit and paint a rock and when you're done with it place it on the wall," she gestures behind her to said wall, "And if you feel like you aren't inspired by anything right now just give it a few moments to see what other people come up wi--no no, no the harp doesn't need to be painted!" she calls out to a boy who is painting red stripes all over it.

Dame Rosario Nevarre of the Oathlands, Anouk Ardennes, Anais Ardennes, Triage, The white dove of Mercy, 2 Valardin Knights, 1 Templar Knight guards arrive, following Sophie.

Bree is a horrible influence, because when Sabella tells the children to keep the paint on the rocks, she looks up from her artist to show the flower painted on her cheek by a very talented young child! "Uh. Right. The rocks, kids!" She laughs, standing and waving a hand at her cheek so the paint dries. "Dame Bree was just showing you what NOT to do."

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Bree before departing.

Eirene enters with two five-year olds in tow. Both wear red tunics with belts for their little wooden swords. Boy and girl, both with dark colored hair. On seeing paint and screaming kids they decide it's time to join the fun as mom releases them to run amuck. "No drawing the swords in a shrine, that's bad form," she reminds them.

While it is true that there are kids running about, but so is an adult. Gogil, his boots having been long discarded chases after kids and in turn is being chased after. A bright cheerful smile and laughter rings from his lips. The kids finally catchup to Gogil and soon he's the one who's getting lathered in paint. "I am not a rock!" He exclaims with laughter in his voice. "At least I don't think I am!"

Talia slips in quietly to the shrine, seeming something like a ghost herself with the dark circles under her eyes and her paler skin. Except that the cracking fingers that show faint traces of blood are very human. She is dressed in a simple dress of cream wool as she moves to gather one of the rocks left out to paint before moving to bow her head over it and move her lips in a prayer to Jayus.

Dom, an unassuming assistant, Saymore, the parrot that just won't stop arrive, following Austen.

Hamish is sitting on the ground, a mountain of a man with a little wolf spider sitting on his shoulder, which freaks out and fascinates kids depending on how weird the kid is. He's got a rock in front of him and is very, very carefully painting what looks like a grossly maimed horse on it.

The general merriment and chaos of the Shrine today has Bree smiling, and she ducks around the chase currently in process to go find her own rock to decorate. "Your Highness," she calls to Sabella as she notices droplets of paint on the floor. "I imagine we should have put down some blankets here and there... but I promise to help scrub it all up when we're done!" She commits herself to cleanup duty as she settles in with her canvas.

Adrienne, a dressed down and incognito princess, slips inside with a silver-gray lute shouldered. She skims the wall; rather than heading toward the enthusiastic painters, she joins the musician's platform, perching on the edge alongside a cheerful, tanned drummer. While the drummer keeps a happy beat, eyes mostly closed, Adrienne tunes her lute. Soon, a cheerful song plays from the distant corner, a playful and quiet entertainment to the Shrine's merriment and prayer.

If anyone had any doubts that Sir Bhandn came from commoner origins, he went out of his way to try to dispel them. His clothes for the event have seen better days, in that they are visibly darned to patch up past rips and tears. There's even a couple of stains on his shirt that no amount of washing would get out. "Now you know why I came dressed like this," he says as an aside to Bree from where he'll set up. "Who wants me to paint a sword and shield for them?" Or something close to those, anyway. Bhandn is no artist, but he can manage lines that kind of look like objects.

Hamish waves over to Bree. "Making a mess is part and parcel to the shrine. Scrubbing up would just ruin it!"

Little Prince Gareth watches Hamish painting his horse with wide, horrified eyes. Eventually he takes the finger out of his mouth to say, "Poor howsie." Sabella meanwhile laughs at Bree and waves her hands, "It's fine! It adds to the ambiance of the place I think. Just that harp probably belongs to someone an--Mistress Talia! Welcome!" She beams a smile at the woman, "I can't wait to see what your creativity leads you to here!"

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Bree before departing.

Talia flushes, nodding softly to Sabella. Her prayer is followed by a quick but detailed painting of her rock, carefully selected by the largest size available. When she finishes, she rises to place her rock carefully even as she says something quietly.

Merek makes a way into the place with his white-black attire on, looking about.

Talia puts a carefully worked image of Jayus surrounded by gathered children in A partially constructed wall made of myriad small, colorful stones.

"You're a wise man, Sir Bhandn," Bree grins to the older Knight of Solace, dipping her fingers in some paint to begin brushing them over the rock. She's clearly no artist, and the only tools she knows well are weapons, so her fingers will have to do for this! What it looks like she's TRYING to recreate is a sunflower, the long green stem her easy first stroke. "I am always impressed by those who can take a picture from their head and put it down on a canvas," she muses as she looks back at the line of green. "Does that even look like a stem?"

Austen comes into the shrine, certainly dressed down for the occasion, old clothes worn. There's a general nod to those in the room before he makes his way over towards Bhandn, a little awkward. "Sir Bhandn! Glad to see we're both a little drier today." He gives a curious smile around. "How can I best be of use?"

All sorts of colors are used on Gogil. Reds, and greens and purples and blues. Some get on his clothes, but the bright smile on his lips indicate that he doesn't mind in the least. "I think you missed a spot!" He says cheerily to the kids pointing to his cheek. Brushes immediately correct that and Gogil is now has been painted. He laughs softly, that bright smile of his never wavering, as he shoos the kids off towards another target. "Rock! Paint your rocks!" And now alone he sets about painting his own rock. But he just sits there a moment the smile fading but not leaving his lips as he contemplates the rock.

"Horsey?" Hamish looks at Prince Gareth II and then back to his rock. "It's not a horsey!" He lifts up his rock which definitely has a horse so deformed one can almost hear it begging for death painted on it. "It's a bat!" He turns the rock upside down and now it all comes into focus. It's a grotesquely malformed horse that is on its back, legs kicking futilely in the air, hoping that someone will take pity on it. "I... it's definitely a bat, see the wings and the long tail with the stinger on the end?" None of these things exist. "And the pointy beak? This is not a horse."

Another making there way in to help or well to just support the best he can is Graham. He is wearing an older cloak today not his best for painting in, but otherwise is in his usual form. He moves in glancing around a moment or two to get an idea of who's here and such before walking further in to see what he should be doing.

"It looks like more of a stem than I can attempt," Sabella tells Bree with cheerful encouragement, "I just did blended colors on mine since I am absolutely hopeless at anything that requires the hands when it comes to art. Well, except for writing, I am pretty good at letter writing! Maybe too good," she looks briefly guilty for something then shakes her head and it's all smiles again!"

"That's not a bat!" Little Gareth's older sister comes rushing in, grabbing her brother by the shoulders, cheeks flushed from running around and more than a little paint flicked all over her face like a rainbow of freckles, "Bats are PURPLE!" Relara shrieks, then pulls Gareth away from Hamish to go paint their own rocks.

Eirene looks out of her element. She's a military person, and she's clearly raising her kids the same. After they've gotten their initial energy rush running around off, she motions them to the rocks. "Okay, what do you little monsters want to paint," she asks the twins. "It looks like a naked ladybug," her daughter says. The boy replies, "it's more like a loaf of lump bread." So they both start making their respective interpretations.

Meanwhile, Eirene looks and feels obligated to introduce herself. "I'm Lady Eirene Malvici, and this is Idris and Iris."

"Lady Eirene! How nice to see you! And your children! Who are sitting and painting!" Sabella sounds so impressed, looking out into the crowd then just waving, "Relara and Gareth are out there somewhere. It's nice to meet you, Idris and Iris! Oh and Count Graham! How wonderful for you to come! Please feel free to add a rock to the wall!"

Bree may catch the little moment of guilt, because her brow furrows and then smooths out again when the smiles are back. She doesn't ask, instead turning to dip her fingers in some yellow now to start working on the actual flower part of her design. "Maybe you can help me write a letter sometime, Your Highness? I always find I am horrible with words. They aren't as easy to wield as a sword." A beat. "Not that you have time to teach me letter writing! Ha. Forget I asked. I will continue to write my mediocre letters." And then she's painting like she didn't just ask royalty to play the part of Whisper.

"Drier /and/ not acting like a lunatic in my case, Sir Austen," Bhandn's deep voice replies to the knight of the King's Own in a kind of wry manner. This Knight of Solace seems to favor the white colored paints and the darker colored rocks, especially those that are more round and suitable for skipping. His ability to paint /artistically/ leaves something to be desired, as his drawings of swords tend to be a (mostly) straight line with a crossguard line, and his shields roughly circles. They're very plain by comparison, simple drawings and nothing more, but Bhandn puts in a great deal of focus on them, even going so far as to start scowling at the rocks while he works on each individual one. He doesn't have a particularly large audience because of it.

Hamish mutters, "Friggin kids think I ... ... a bat looks ... ... know ... a bat looks like! I'm the archlector of Death! ... ... ... bats look like ... archlector school."

Talia frowns a little towards Hamish, perhaps for how many times she just caught 'bats look like' in a row. But, the tailor then quietly moves toslip out of the shrine, without further incident.

Graham turns at his name being called smiling to the one who speaks it. "Ah, your highness, always a pleasure to see you. Thank you i'll do my best not to embarass myself in rock art." He chuckles lightly though he indeed will go to pick out a rock and moves towards a group the children who are painting sitting cross-legged among them and preparing to paint something.

Elizabetta, a disapproving lady-in-waiting have been dismissed.

Lily, an aloof lady-in-waiting have been dismissed.

2 Grayson House Guards have been dismissed.

Clark, an exasperated guard have been dismissed.

"Indeed, Sir Bhandn. I'm quite glad to be back on dry land," Austen says cheerfully before he gets some paints and rocks himself. "I admit, I am not much of a painter," he chuckles, settling down on the floor and starting to paint a crown on one of the rocks.

Idris Malvici seems interested in Bhandn's swords more than his 'bread loaf'. He starts peeking over. Iris Malvici is meanwhile painting her rock red. Eirene gives Sabella a faint smile and a nod. "They needed the exercise and socialization, so I figured something good for Jayus would be fun."

He chuckles lightly though he indeed will go to pick out a rock and moves towards a group the children who are painting sitting cross-legged among them and preparing to paint something.

Idris Malvici is certainly welcome to the rocks that Bhandn is painting with a VERY SERIOUS expression on, and the knight will even scoot a just-painted pair of sword-and-shield towards the child. So focused is he on getting the lines straight (those that should be, like the "sword" blades) that he gives no words at this time, even when prompted.

Hamish puts the finishing touches on his rock and sets it down. "Well. That was effort well spent! Beautifying the temple of Jayus is the gods' work, so you've done a truly great thing here today, your highness." Then he starts the laborious process of getting back to his feet.

Hamish drops a rock with the gods knows what painted on it.

Idris comments to Bhandn, "I like your sword." He points at Vigil. He takes the offered rock and decides to make one similar, with t-shaped swords and rounded shields.

Eirene is not painting, no. She helps Iris add dots on the ladybug, though.

"I'm rather fond of it myself." He caught that pointed finger at Vigil, Bhandn did, but he doesn't go into further speech about his blade even after finishing his latest pairing of sword-and-shield. With a few made for any of the children who might want them, he settles back, careful with his white-coated fingers in that he doesn't want to get paint anywhere but rocks or his very plain, mended attire.

Sabella pauses in trying to wrangle some of her children to smile at Hamish's compliment, "Thank you, Archlector! But I suppose it's not so much about beautifying--although everything everyone is doing is quite lovely!--so much as inspiring others and leaving a little bit of yourself behind. Everyone who contributes today will be a part of the shrine for as long as it lasts! Which is usually a year, but it gives people time to perfect their painting for next time!"

Bhandn puts two rocks depicting a sword and shield drawn in white paint in A partially constructed wall made of myriad small, colorful stones.

Eirene pulls a flask from her umbra overcoat and takes a long drink. "Swords, hm? You should paint a bird on the shield for Malvici. Or make an I for Idris." Iris, meanwhile, is signing her name on the bottom in block letters.

Gogil had been quiet for a long while. Happily and blissfully unaware of the goings ons around him. Reds, yellows, greens, blues, purples all seem to find there way upon the rock, the ever present smile of his never wavering. He rises and stretches before wondering over to add his to the rock collection. "That was fun!" He exclaims with a soft laugh.

Gogil puts a colorful explosion haphazardly painted on a rock in A partially constructed wall made of myriad small, colorful stones.

Painting takes time and concentration, and that is why Bree has been quiet! She was making her sunflower!

Hamish clambers to his feet in a process that takes a long time and involves no small amount of complaining about his knees. That done he wanders around with a paint brush and occasionally taps it to unguarded noses, which is a pretty divisive thing to decide to do. Eirene gets a moment of consideration (and definitely no nose-paint) before he moves on.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Bree before departing.

"I'm glad you think so," Sabella says to Gogil, turning a smile on Bhand when he adds his rocks to the wall, "I think it looks a lot better now than it did this morning, so thank you everyone! A lot of you are far more talented at this than I am!"

Austen is still quietly painting in the corner. That's a *lot* of yellow paint.

The smile given to Bhandn is returned slightly. He'll even salute the princess with a fist over his chest and a faint bow to her as he turns away from the wall to go back to his own little area. Bhandn doesn't resume painting, but instead gives out a sigh of relief as he sits down again, knuckling at his back for a moment. He decides to watch the activity for the time being; no more painting for this old man after the few he made.

Eirene helps her son with a bird on one of the shields but he is able to draw his initials on the other. "Can we go play now," Iris asks. Eirene nods and off her twins go to play with the other kids and look at rocks.
