Hmm. War with shavs, while costly in lives, tends to be good for other sorts of business. Expect the weapons, lumber, and steel trade around Ischia to rise. Of course, anyone paying attention to previous developments in this area should not be surprised! The southern Lyceum should be a good place to ship the war goods of war for a bit. One thing in reading the proclamations that I did not understand: What is a Platinum Ban? There isn't enough of the stuff to warrant banning it, really! And it's harmless - or as harmless as any shiny metal that represents a great deal of wealth can be. Which means that when people die over it, it's usually malice, and not an inherent property of the metal. I think. I haven't really ever had enough platinum to test that! Maybe it's actually secretly poisonous?

It is funny. Events overtake knowledge sometimes, we struggle in the dark, events may be different to what our research suggests....yet sometimes there is serendipity. Sometimes research you thought had been overtaken answers questions set to the side long ago for lack of an answer.
Prince Laric speaks of finding parts of our past, of remembering. In his case it is the Metallic Order, in my case my research is the history of my own Order and its precursors. It is surprising what our ancestors knew, and what they achieved. And what we must now do in honour to preserve the world they left to us.
What I will say of it publicly is that on a recent journey, we went to a place we knew was a site of evil. All our records pointed to that. The cave was infested by dangerous creatures, it is a site where even a Templar fell to the temptations of the darker parts of his soul and slew his brother. We went there expecting the worst. What we found was a lesson in Faith. All that was evil, all that was dark, all of that had been overcome by the peace and tranquility of the Gods. It felt very much as if Gild, Gloria and Limerance walked with us. It was a place I thought would test my Faith, and ended up being a place which re-affirmed it. The Gods transcend all, and if we hold to them, we will be amazed at even the smallest glimpse of their wonder.

The get together by the Whitehawks was a pleasure to attend. It was great to see everyone in such high spirits. Wish I'd known there was going to be games like that before hand, I'll need to prepare more jokes.

Delighted and and so very excited as our event draws near. It is my greatest hope that next week's Sip n'Spar event at the Hart will be successful. I should like to make an excellent donation to support the Lodge.
Nothing would please me more than to help in this venture. Those who cannot fight as one of our brave warriors must find other ways to rise and support the effort.
I sincerely hope we see great support for this cause.

I made it to second place in a joust, for that I'm quite proud of myself.
Unfortunately I lost because I was knocked off my horse (again) and landed on my side, so I broke my arm.
Which is all definitely Jael's fault and not because I'm a lesser rider.
Lets not be silly.
There's going to be a rematch.
The scholar is reminding me that I received a message from my wife earlier stating that I would not be jousting Jael again.
I'm absolutely certain I could do it again without breaking anything!

Did I mention that I had a meeting with Prince Edain? I am glad I did, as I had not really spoken with him before. He's a very courteous host and listened to my concerns quite kindly.

Tonight was such a delight, and it assured me that my decision to live in Arx among my family of 'Hawks was the right one. My heart is lighter tonight than it has been for some time, thanks to the laughter and celebration surrounding my cousin and his achievements. Thank you so much, Silas, for inviting me to Arx, and thank you to all of the guests who joined our little household in celebrating a three-year anniversary to the most deserving of men. Also, happy birthday to both my cousin and my sister Kenna, who can always bring a smile to my face (even when it means I lose my place in the game!).
And most importantly: Let it not be forgot that I made Count Riven laugh. I fear he will find revenge in some way, but he was a good sport.

I spent a very enjoyable evening with the Whitehawks, and laughed quite a bit. I highly recommend attending gatherings hosted by them when the next one comes along -- though if you attempt to outpun Lady Evonleigh, you might be disappointed.
