I may be biased, but Eagle is the best route to go. So much versatility, and perception.

What do you think of Eagle? Hawk? Kestrel? What about VULTURE?

Something in me - sometimes, I think, makes it difficult to screen out competing stimuli, focus, and slow down, all of which increases my frustration levels. I am taking on too many projects, doing too much research. Being unable to measure up to anyone's (my OWN) expectations or feeling guilty about missing my self-imposed deadlines creates additional tension.

BUT, now, I'm not the only one in my space and that's a really weird realization because I need to slow down.

But only just a little bit.

Nothing deep to add today, Scholar. Just this: wearing skirts during these wonderfully warm summer days is really a brilliant satorial choice -- so easy-breezy on the bits and bobs.

1) Maybe I do have siblings, maybe I don't. It's none of anyone's business.

2) No, Thena. You still aren't getting the barracks back.

We forgot. We weren't supposed to, but we did. It wasn't entirely our fault, but it was still a failing.

But we're remembering now, and that's what matters.

How you keep all these details in steady order is a credit to your wit!

The Society of Explorers benefits greatly by the Pathfinder's talent for organization, and we would not be nearly so successful as we our in our missions without her readiness and outreach. Tonight has been a pleasure -- a show of excellence and cooperation, understanding founded on working together.

Thank you, Lou!

"As Arx endures, we will remember."

That is the solemn promise that each Knight of Solace makes. To remember the sacrifice that Silver made for us. She and her Guard fought day and night, knowing what it would cost them, so that the refugees, the children, the injured, and the noncombatants might live. It is even written that almost all of the Compact can trace its lineage to those that Silver saved.

I at first wrote to take umbrage at the Master of Questions' statement about forgetting. But the truth is the legacy of Silver had faded.

Together, the King's Own and Knights of Solace are rectifying that. Through sharing her sacrifice. Through research. Through embodying her belief. that every soul is unique and possessed of intristic worth.

We will remember.

It is no secret that I hold the Metallic Order in high regard nor that I have spent considerable time and resources researching its history, as well as the lasting legacies of its members and those who served in the Metallic Guards. Women like Cobalt, whose brave defiance teaches the importance of standing against tyranny. Men like her husband Brimstone, one of the few members of the Gold Guard who survived the Reckoning, who set aside his raiments but pursued Gold's mission until his dying breath.

Men and women who deserve to be returned to the public conscience and remembered for the heroes they are, something I greatly look forward to helping achieve. Their sacrifices created a free future for Arvum, and even the most minor of their actions create the ripples around us to this day. Ah, but that's a topic to write on another time.

One of my aides brought me a transcription of Joscelin Arterius' journal about metallurgy. They had skimmed it and saw capitalized metals, made an assumption and had a copy transcribed. Not my standard fare (I am quite happy to leave metalworking to the professionals) but the Guildmaster's knowledge and passion for her craft practically flowed from the page, making for an enjoyable and inspiring read. Now, to make something of that inspiration with a different sort of metallurgy.

The Metallic Order was not idly named, nor were its members. Every metal has different primal, or as some would rather say alchemical, significance. The metal gold, for instance, has forever been linked with the virtues of courage and wisdom. It is no accident that Gold's tales speak of his heroism against desperate odds, of his clever and elegant solutions for each problem put in his path. It is likewise linked to the element of fire and the concept of change. Gold gives way to fire readily, allowing itself to be changed into something new, better, rid of its impurities. It is no coincidence that Gold became the Lady of Change's earthly champion.

Silver shows gentleness, compassion and humanity, as well as the dedication to stand for these things time and time again. It should surprise no one that Silver was one of the Compact's greatest supporters, but it may surprise you that she, not Iron, was responsible for building and protecting the city of Arx.
After the Reckoning, the remnants of her Guard became the Knights of Solace and the Silver Swords. They may have forgotten her over the centuries, but they have never forgotten her example and follow it to this day. The same might be said of humanity honoring her legacy; we have forgotten, but still we see silver in every day of our lives.

Enough for one night, I think.

Sparte, to set the record straight, it's not a nickname. I call him that because I adopted him as my uncle. I've never heard anyone else call him that except maybe Thena once, just to give him grief.

So it has become a practice amongst some of the Iron Guard to call Lieutenant Calaudrin, Uncle Cal. To the best of my knowledge, he doesn't actually have a brother. The nickname is just that.

But what if he did have a brother? Why, that person would've sired a full hundred or more of the Iron Guard by themselves. I would very much enjoy hearing a verse dedicated to the exploits of the brother of Uncle Cal.

How do you always know what to say?

You give succor to my fears, and ease those uncertainties back to smooth again. When the world is on fire, you blow away the flames better than anyone else.

It feels almost unfair to hand over a small burden to you for a time, because I've left your company every time eased, serene where I had trouble clasping tranquility before.

Let it be known you are the best of friends, level headed and clear eyed.

I'm taken by the notion of having the walls repainted. At least one of the walls. I suppose if I push away one of the bookcases and completely reorganize my room again, I can manage that mural.

Something to look forward to, what with long summer days ahead.

Though how can I work glass into a painting? Mosaic or fresco method, maybe?

My cousins have all spent a great deal of time in Arx. It was something I was torn about. Sometimes I would be jealous of the time spent away from Highhill and all it contains. Sometimes it was grateful that they were simply gone and my father with them leaving me to run things. Now that I am here. Now that it is my turn to see to our House's future as it pertains to this city I find myself in awe and wonder at the size of it all! It is so easy to forget how big the world is when one keeps their attention fixed on important local events. The harvest. The training of the next litters of mastiffs. The defense of the county. Now that I am here I see why my cousins were always so loathe to return.

And I have only been here a scant few days but my life has already been turned upside down.
