These last few days have been difficult. I have been working on a project that has been as heartbreaking in its lows as it has been fulfilling in its greater good. I feel closer to my patron, his Highness Ainsley Grayson after working on this together and I am reaffirmed that ours is a relationship defined by our mutual respect for duty and working for the betterment of those who cannot defend or help themselves.
I do not think I could ever offer an amount of praise great enough to really express my pride in Prince Ainsley, in the work he does and most importantly, the motivations he has to do that work. Never during this project, have I seen him be stirred by the thought of the glory or renown it would net him. Instead his motivation has always been, to the safety and well being of his charges. It is an honor to be his protege, and an honor to be a part of this.
I think, perhaps, the weight of it has worn on me. And that wear has perhaps been expressed in less than positive behavior on my part. Regardless as to the result of the duel, I think, having taken time for some truly deep introspection, I need to find other ways to express my anxieties. This is not, I must be clear, any sort of acceptance of the charges laid on me by Marquis Leary. I found the whole of his challenge to be insulting, rude and inaccurate in the extreme. Had it not been an issuance of Challenge, his statement would have had me challenging *him*. So no. I do not acknowledge any truth to his words, but that does not mean I did not disappoint myself by allowing a snide remark to elicit one from me in turn. I am better than that. Well, clearly I am not currently, but I am trying to be. That is more accurate.
So, here is to another goal to strive towards, another chance to better myself, to more faithfully follow the path of the gods.

That is a pity, that some of the more prominent members of the Silver Order and the Godsworn should not be recognized in their own city.

And so, after probably a great deal of deliberation, excess meetings with some, unanswered missives from others and fallen through meetings, I have taken patronage. It was hard in the end, the two choices. It was not made lightly. But some things feel right. They just do. Lord Grady Deepwood I think, shall prove to be an interesting patron. I certainly do.

I think it is time I start meeting new people. I dare say when I think of my friends it is often the same names. Time to expand. The question in, who in this city has the courage to befriend someone like me? A sweet, innocent, very trust worthy huntress and certainly great looking and terrific smile, very very trust worthy and lovely and wonderful person that will totally not steal, why is the scribe looking at me like that, person.

My first protege! I'm excited, not to have a protege but because it signifies a future where Mistress Josephine and I work together regularly. An excellent woman with a good mind, and she has a phenomenal eye for jewelry. Should you ever change your mind, I would be happy to have one crafted for you as well! It is not an exclusive group, by any means. I wished the first to go to those I was closest to and share many memories with. Really, everyone should have a chair to rock in after a day at the forge, loom, or what have you.

I am not a woman prone to violence. Even pugilism is an art to me, one that I take great joy in not for the harm it causes, but because of time-honored tradition.
I think I am an understanding, kind, and giving woman. The type to make a few rocking chairs for those dear people who built their shops around the time I did. We are loosely bound, I think, by those early days starting out together. It is why I had the them made - to honor those friendships and support.
Taking gifts clearly meant for those friends inspires an anger I rarely feel. May the Gods grant me restraint should I find you before the Iron Guard does.

A rocking chair. No, I don't think that would sit well in front of the Velvet Box as much as it seems to in front of a few other shops. I shall have to remain content with my couches, in my mirror riddled store. Or the chair in my worshop, near the forge.
