There are forces in this world that seek to quell knowledge and stamp it out, and prevent us from understanding, cooperation and remembrance. I do worry about the consequences of such a decision, for there are those who have sought wisdom from the Shamans and now that wisdom may no longer be forthcoming. Likewise, there were those who practiced Shamanism who were equally devoted to the Faith and the protection of the Compact. I have seen and heard references to the two practices working faithfully hand in hand. There were those who adhered to both with wisdom and devotion. And now those children have been severed from the Gods at least in name and officially, and this saddens my heart somewhat.
I am certain, however, that the Dominus of the Faith has his reasons, even if we may not be privy to those reasons. Though it makes us sad or even angry, some sacrifices must be made for the good of the Compact and the world. Many changes have been made of late, and while even I am personally affected by some of them, I am confident that those changes are made for the protection of all, and accept them, even though they make my work as a Scholar harder.
These are dangerous times we live in, and it is difficult to know where to place one's trust at times. Not all spirits are benevolent, and it can often be difficult to distinguish between good spirits and those which would cause us harm. So I understand the decision. We know the Gods to be benevolent and we can have faith that our worship and devotion to them is right and good in order to maintain balance against that which threatens us.
I am sad that we must part ways with our shamanic brothers and sisters. But I choose to serve the Gods, and accept the word of the Dominus, having faith that there is sound purpose in it.

If this was not the case perhaps the words should be amended for a clear understanding. One can believe in both and work for who they feel more devoted to. However it was written that they must choose and ignore, not choose and respect.
That is not the way.

There is no way I could renounce the spirits after witnessing what I did at the Battle of Stormwall. So it's with a heavy heart that I step down as an Armswoman of Gloria.

It's hard to make a concise thought on what's transpired today, given that I have a lot of thoughts and yet no decent way to articulate many of them.
I guess I'd just thought for a long time that welcoming those of dissenting opinion to share it in your places was a good way to learn from each other. Find your compromises and grow stronger as a people. It seems like there's a wedge now, where ideas aren't going to be heard.
Overall it doesn't really do anything to me though, so I cast my thoughts out like a 'lil pebble into the ocean anyhow. I'm probably wrong, but my gut just can't shake this disappointing feeling yet.

As disciples of Vellichor we dedicate our lives to the spread of knowledge throughout the Compact and the accumulation of history. We are custodians of knowledge for all of the Faith of the Pantheon. Our teaching directive is paramount to our worship. In mankind's vow to the god of knowledge, all citizens, regardless of their background or their traditions may record a record of their lives in a white journal to be kept public and accessible in the Great Archive. It is a great sin to seek to bar someone from this right. Under even stricter care are the Reflections, the black journals of which the Scholars of Vellichor guarantee privacy. There is no greater sin for us than to break that sacred trust no matter your background or your traditions.

You can worship as you choose. If you are going to WORK FOR the Faith of the Pantheon, you have to abide by its rules.
Being a disciple is a privilege; not even that, it is a duty and a devotion. You can't be a priest and a shaman and you never could. This is no different.

It seems my thoughts were not misplaced nor misjudged.
The odd thing is that a person religious views are not free. Some would say they are free whatever you wish, so long as you believe what others tell you to believe.
You are free to do as they tell you.
For the record, I have never cared once what a man or woman believes in. It's never been and never will be any of my business. You religious views does not impact my life one way or another.
I cannot understand how some can think contrary to this.

For my father, and my father's father who were so beloved by the Gods.
Please note that the scholars may take some time preparing your journal for others to read.
