It’s cute watching people get hangovers for the first time(s). Several talented people in Arx make a tea. I’d plug my own, but I haven’t had time for tea making in some time.

Or you could do what my Uncle Manny did and drink a shot of pickle juice.

Relationship Note on Margret

Colors still hurt, but yes, Lady Margret - we did. Very best of best friends if what my ladies are telling me is right.

I'm still waiting for my bracelet. My favorite color is blue, by the way. Though, right now it might be green with how I am feeling.

Mistress Valery has this amazing hangover tea. I think your brother has some.

My preferred weapon to wield?

The quill, despite its size, has the enormous power to achieve what a sharp-edged blade cannot. The reach and range of a sword does cannot compare to a quill. The needlepoint tip of a quill can wound deeper. The potential to be more powerful than any show of physical force. More damage can be done with words than any weapon and the impacts can last far longer. Although, setting aside the metaphor, having a sharpened quill to be a companion to my knife and my scalpel would be an extraordinary addition.

I have made a couple of purchases from Scholar Oswyn's shop already actually! His writing instruments are such handsome pieces! I even gifted His Grace, Prince Darren, with a set. I should revisit, really. I thank you for the reminder!

I am so sick I think the world is tilting.

Did we become best friends last night?

I'm not sure about quills as weapons, but Scholar Oswyn makes delightfully sharp ones in a variety of feathers and usually has a good stock in his shop!

Relationship Note on Sabella

If the highest lesson Master Culler can teach is "how to get a princess to go out with you," then I'm afraid his priorities are sorely misplaced. I hadn't had such a base read of him, but perhaps I will have to lower my opinion.

Don't you have a story to be writing? Hop to it.

I admit I've recently been sincerely toying with the idea of having an exceptionally fine quill forged from metal of some type. Like my cousin, Princess Elgana, lessons with the spear and shield just never came to fruition back in Farhaven. But in a pinch? I rather like to think that a quill to the side of the neck, were I able to manage it, would be quite a surprise.

Well, not /now/ that I've put it in the whites, I guess. Doesn't make me want one any less though.

That's not how you get a Princess to go out for drinks with you! Did you learn nothing from Master Itzal?

My favorite weapon? Well, the one that your opponent never sees coming, I suppose. I prefer being clever. Otherwise? The one you never need to use.

All this talk of weapons has me considering my own safety. I am certainly glad that you all have your preferences as most of you are protecting those of us who have no proficiency in the martial skills.

So thank you, for all you do with whatever you do it with.

His Grace, my patron Prince Edain, and Huntsman Paige Fieldstone are exceptionally generous with their words about my crafts, for which I am grateful. That noted, it may be of little surprise that I favor fists over weapons. Now, I realize that limits one's range and I've yet to hear of a demon being taken down by pugilism, but that's also why I don't go seeking out such things. Still, I forge weapons as though I were going to wield them myself, in a way, beyond the descriptions customers give.

Axe, sword, spear, bow, flail - I guess I consider them all of equal beauty and measure. It's the who and how of it being wielded that's the interesting part.

I've never been skilled with weapons, no matter how hard they tried back home. It just isn't who I am. My dearest sister has always leaped to my defense, though.

Are Princess Bears weapons? I choose Princess Bears.

Relationship Note on Monique

I mean, I won't deny that a garrote gets the job done, but it is so horribly situational. Your foe has to be unaware and your positioning has to be perfect so they cannot counter attack. There are just so many factors that have to be perfect to employ them effectively. Basically you have to plan an entire fight around the opportunity to employ it when you could just use something else.

Some of the attackers during the Tragedy of Sanctum found out, strangulation is an incredibly risky way to kill a trained warrior.

I suppose I might write here the prompt by my husband.

My preferred weapon to wield?

Pellinor. He's always sharp, very intimidating, never loses his edge and when I have no need of him, he's off to do what... former Keaton Huntsmen do. I'm fairly sure that he's seducing the cook. Very sure. There's always some jelly in the corner of his beard and I see her looks at him when going over the menu's for the week.

Second to that is my husband. Or precisely, his axe.

Though I am quite surprised that he didn't say my sharp wit or tongue.

Relationship Note on Paige

Oh I can only imagine how magnificent of a weapon it is. Dame Ida made my spear and she made me something that was amazingly balanced to works from the saddle or boots to ground. That was wickedly sharp and powerful, and atop all of these virtues is also a piece of art. I look forward to seeing you brandish the one she made you!

Oh and another virtue of spears! You can hunt delicious, delicious boar with one! I do not recommend attempting to do so with either sword or axe.
