Darling readers!

I know it has been a long time but so much has happened in these last months. I, officially, am rebegining my career as a courtesan, and I have my own cabin now to entertain company, along with a rededication to my goal of bringing joy to the city.

Darling fans, there is a light in the midst of this grim now and it is me!

A lot of travel recently. Mostly a quick tour of Ostria, inspections, promotions and training to see to among our military. I miss home, the Walled City. However, I was surprised to note I missed Arx a little more than I imagined I would. Must be the people I know.

The change in leadership within the Lyceum went smoothly. Thankfully. Were violence used, we no doubt would have been involved in an escalating conflict that I don't think we could have survived fully intact. Eleyna will rule well. I should talk to Duke Niccolo to see how he's doing.

Relationship Note on Belladonna

To be given Voice is an honor, and I hope to do it justice.

Crimson moon and reflection, a night of heady music and the pulse of drums. I must thank Cerberus for the reminder of the steps that I'd forgotten, and those that I had not, and the Crimson Death for her conversation, and offer to entice others so that I might complete my task. Alas, I seem to have failed, as time ran short and most were otherwise engaged. Still, it was a night to be remembered, and good to come out of the studio for a while. Needless to say, I have been inspired for a new piece or two by the experience.

Decided to test the fit of my new Rubicund and Exotic mix leather armor I had made up. This turned into a spar against Lord Corban, he's a wiley opponent, and I look forward to further bouts with this man, he is a good test of both armor and skill.

A quieter week after the prior times of strife and trouble. However I have a new project to undertake, and have had an interesting meeting with Princess Freja about shamanistic matters that I hope may yield some useful fruit in the near future.

Relationship Note on Talen

Oh, you are some kind of 'trophy'. It's like I won the game of 'Do you want to be annoyed for the rest of your life?' and you were the prize.

Also, wait, what. Becoming a Voice means more paperwork and I'm not sure I'm prepared for this. I just wanted to be a trophy consort husband.

Relationship Note on Mira

My cousin, she has her talents, so very different from mine. Nonetheless an asset to House Artiglio, House Velenosa and the Compact.

It's been a relatively productive week! I was able to meet many of the local merchants and traders, as well as begin to negotiate agreements with at least three houses and some other organizations. The Laurents were kind enough to throw a party to welcome us Farshaws, and now we're preparing to go visit them for dinner, which I am looking forward to.

I really shouldn't be so hurt by being stung by the scorpion, but I really wanted to believe.

Relationship Note on Eleyna

You're currently already mad because even though I was just trying to help you put your things away, you thought they were going in the wrong containers.

That's why I'm writing this so you can get to it later, when you're less angry, so more likely to look at this objectively.

Hiss was hungry so she ate your new tarantula. RIP Princess Foxglove. Sorry Oleander, it's better this way, she was probably going to eat you after you scored anyway.

I'm not much of a scout, but from what Princess Reese said, scouting won't be where I'll be needed.

I wish Dame Esoka and her compatriots good luck, though. And the favour of the gods in their efforts.

Lady Neve thinks I should seek out spiritual guidance for the issues that vex me. I don't think she's wrong. I have a few different reasons. I'm devoted to the pantheon, but I admit that I do not have the firmest grasp of the dogma, and mostly I just try to live my life according to the Virtues of the Gods.

Still. Meetings and talks would be good. I look forward to it. Now I just need to write the letters and ask for audiences.

I never duplicate personal commissions except in the exceptionally rare case that the commissionee, or someone quite close to them, specifically requests as much. It would be mortifying to me to have two people show up to a party in matching swords! More truly, though, I design specifically to the person or persons who take the time to visit the shop to order something anyhow. Those weapons are forged with a feeling of their owner, which makes duplicates about impossible.

Items I put up for sale in the shop, however, may indeed have very similar designs or themes to other items, though I attempt to advertise that very plainly when I do so.

The more you know.

Preparations are underway for another venture into the Gray Forest, and I have signed on to scout the Horned One's activities. I pray to Gloria that we have good success and are able to find something of use against him. The battlefield near Farhaven still lives in my memory, and that fight is plainly far from over.

Relationship Note on Samael

I know few of the Bislands well, but I've been impressed in my dealings with Lord Samael thus far, and it pleases me that he seems to be taking a greater hand in his House's dealings with his vassals. I found the meeting at the renovated Bisland manse this week a productive one and it bodes well for things to come, from my viewpoint as a knight, at least.
