Awwwww the baby was born! Gah. I have to visit. Love babies. I know Bella probably doesn't remember me, but perhaps my sweet cousin will still allow me to shower her, her husband and baby with loving gifts! I dare not mention a baby shower. Or do I? Maybe Sudara will introduce me again. Yes, then we can talk babies. <3

Sometimes putting on a trinket or piece of jewelry becomes such a second nature, that you almost forget you're wearing it.

So you happen to have it on at the worst possible time.

The Auction for Arx was a splendid affair, and I'm glad to have done my part. Hopefully it means we can get the city back up to shape quicker than expected. It is exceptionally inspiring to see that the city can still come together even after the fighting is over.

Blanchard will forever be known as a house that stepped up to repair this city from the damage of the siege. As well as a house that brought in much needed Capitol within one night. What an Awesome night.

The drink seems to be a good friend these past few days and nights. Forgive Gods for my recent temper flare ups, and my lashing out at those I care about and my anger at the world as a whole. I hope to find my peace and solace as the days move forward, I pray to Gloria that people see my honor still in tact. This place is different from what Im used to but Im sure that I will get used to it adapt and learn the societal ways here.

To all those who supported me? Thank you. You are too many to write back individually, so thank you, all of you. seriously.

Now I'm going to go drink. A lot.

Our son has been born, but he remains elsewhere. I know that this will likely cause some disappointment, but considering the state of things it is safest. Those that desperately wish to see him can make requests to visit; the journey this time of year is not terrible.

Tonight I am taking part in some form of auction before I leave for my hunt, This should.. be interesting. I do not know what exactly to expect only that it is to help a friend with one of their hopes.

I happened to meet the Duke of Laurent while enjoying some cheese over at the Valardin quarter earlier on, learning that he and his sibling were able to return to the city after being behind enemy lines and as he's a connoisseur of fine foods, this recipe is so that others can think of his family as they enjoy it. This particular recipe is in remembrance of the house of Laurent, that family of workhorses that are bridled to duty versus personal honor and the feelings one has of being a part of something greater than the individual, of communitarianism. They are a polite and civil people, so keep that in mind. This recipe is perfect for when you have guests and the focus should be on bringing all together at a round table as equals while delightful and stimulating conversation happens. The fondue is thick, gooey and deliciously decadent so guests can truly chew on what is being said. Deliciously decadent.

Driskell's Truffle Infused Honey Fondue
Serves 8.

- Two and a half cup of grated hard yellow cheese (gruyere)
- Two cup grated hard mellow white cheese (swiss)
- A cup of grated yellow medium-hard cheese (emmental)
- Two cups of a dry sparkling white wine
- Four spoons of flour
- Two spoons of Laurent truffle infused honey, a miracle of my own making that I'll have to share perhaps later
- Two cloves of garlic, minced
- A pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
- Salt to taste

Mix by hand all of the various cheeses with the flour, ensuring that you've coated all the cheese as evenly as possible.

Simmer the wine in a large saucepan.

Add the cheese mix by the handful, stirring it in until all is melted (but gods, don't let it burn) before you add more handfuls. Once you've about two handfuls left, toss in the garlic and nutmeg and then throw in the rest of the cheese, stirring and stirring.

Stir in the truffle infused honey, I enjoy drizzling it in the reverse direction that I'm stirring to help get the flavors mixed in quickly.

Stir all until it is velvety smooth and the cheese pulls on your spoon.

Pour the fondue into a crockery bowl and serve it with a candle underneath to promote the cheese from thickening too much. Add another drizzle of the truffle honey over the top of the fondue, sprinkling just another pinch of nutmeg (but don't go overboard, it's merely for color).

Serve with roasted duck, roasted artichoke hearts, mushrooms and of course, the ever popular crusty piece of bread.

Pairs deliciously with Laurent mead.
