Prayers at the shrines led to several of us seeking a warm room and warm drinks after the meditations and prayers finished. Conversation was punctuated by the crackle and gnawing of my dogs and some of those visiting enjoying some soup bones the cook had set aside for them.

Captain Harlex is collecting weapons used in battle for an offering to the Queen of Endings. I sent him a couple of weapons I had used years ago, including the crossbow I used during the Pirate War. I suppose I could have reserved them to use in some way in the future. But it feels like my balance sheet with Lady Death is out of whack these days as it is. I'll offer these and hope it helps.

I admit that when I received the invitation from Lord Rysen, I was nervous. I felt as though his words put me at a higher standing than I deserved, and I had no idea what to expect from the evening.
Then the evening happened, and I realized I had been worrying for nothing.

One of my first social outings in the city has proven to be a success. I met a general, an admiral, and a physician. Lady Reese, Lady Mabelle, and Lord Domonico respectively. A mix of people that as certain as the night was cold, helped to make me feel warm and welcome. I was surprised at their lightheartedness. I would expect such important professions to have a difficult time relaxing. Happily, I was proven wrong. And even better, I didn't feel at all out of place.
I feel like my time in the city will end up even more fruitful than I could have imagined. I'm excited to see what else I can uncover, and my next free day I expect I'll venture somewhere new.
-Well, what am I saying? Everywhere is new to me right now.
Perhaps I'll pick a door and simply walk through it. If its anything at all like tonight, it will go exceptionally swimmingly.
