The nattering doesn't stop. Refuge in my home serves me well, though it means I trod through the blasted snow. I have taken up someone to reside with me. The Blessed Brigida. There's something odd about an Archlector residing in a home, but she takes refuge the same as I and at least we can sit about the table and talk about the young things flitting about the city. I'll have to see to a garden properly put in the back now that someone is there.
I wonder if people will make rumors now? Unlikely. They have better things to gossip about on their lips that two elder woman.

Nobody knows how they're going to react when they're faced with combat for the first time. I've seen the roughest, most well trained fighters turn and run at the first charge. The first time I killed a man, I threw up and couldn't keep anything down for two days. You don't know until it happens. And you don't really know until you've forced yourself back into it a second, third, maybe even a fourth time.
And you certainly can't know just from looking at someone. Make a guess, sure. But you can't actually know.

A whole Oathland's house gone. The idea is a terrible though the action abhorrent and a great loss. May they find peace and may the Oathland's faithful find those responsible.

It's been an interesting day. There is so much going on, and on. I am glad to see at least some of the fighting and feuding is simmering down across the Compact. Now if only we can manage to get the rest of it to simmer down, I will feel somewhat better.

I am relieved to hear an agreement has been made for a cease fire, after our diplomatic attempts.

It's to Harlex Valtyr, Captain of the Crimson Blades and Sword of Lenosia, whom I owe a great many thanks to. Were it not for his support, House Champagne might not have been successful in our endeavors to secure vital trade routes between the Oathlands and Crownlands.
We were also able to put an end to violent men of House Beaucage who sought to ride down the prodigals fleeing for their lives, aid a group of Knights of Solace, and so much more. I shudder to think what the outcome of my journey would have been without him.

I have heard that the Tourney of Thorns possibly has a folly as the grand prize.
This is most unfortunate. As I have said before, I will say again. Humans should not participate in follies. This is not about humans being /more/ and acting past their potential and overcoming hardships or outperforming expectations. Follies are just not meant for us. We all have such potential, all of us. If a Nox enters a folly, and dies, they can still live out that potential.
If a human does, and dies, they will never be able to accomplish the important things they could have accomplished. While skill may help in surviving a folly, it is also sheer fortune whether one passes out of it or not. It is a holy rite dedicated to the Queen of Endings. Perhaps one day, when I feel that I have accomplished all I can, that I have made a difference and my job is done perhaps I will enter another Folly and return to the Queen and see her smile.
But if humans have things in this world they wish to see done, people they wish to see again. They should not participate in follies.

It has been far too long since my brother and I had a moment together. Despite trying to put business aside, it was difficult as we are both ridiculously responsible people. There was an unanimous agreement though during the conversation. Our parents had four beautiful, amazing children.
