Relationship Note on Belladonna
Amidst the current crisis that one of the Compact's own is going through, I have received offers of support from unlikely new associates and allies. Yet on the flip side I've also received a disheartening and disturbing missive from my own Liege whom decided that using the sovereign authority within our own lands was an act of insurbordination and ensued with threats! As outlandish as this seems I have literally brought the missive here and asked the scholars to place it within the pages of my white journal for all to read.

Relationship Note on Rhea
Lady Rhea Acheron, Marquessa of Aviaron’s Peak, has become my husband’s patron. Which I think is going to do him a lot of good. He needs help with many things sometimes, and I don’t always know how to do it if it can’t be approached by constructive yelling. As for the Marquessa herself, she's a rather grand Northern lady who seems to be dealing competently with the domain she rules and the people she manages, even if she didn’t expect to have to take charge of it. I like her, and the other Acheron folk, and look forward to more dinners. Their house is so interesting! And they serve good whiskey, which always makes better friends.

The Gala is tomorrow. After all the planning, all the waiting, it's finally here. It's ready. I'm ready. The cloaks tell me they're going to miss me, but I haven't given in to their siren-song to abscond.
In case this needs to be said, everyone is welcome. There is no charge to enter. You may choose to buy tickets for the raffle of the cloaks before The Gala, but it is not a requirement. After learning about the social practice yesterday when I followed the sound of conversation and laughter and I asked about this thing of peerage social auctions - AND it is a thing - with the permission of my Edward, whom I'm writing about and this is concerning, I - Elloise (Elly) Strombreak (nee Leary) - being of VERY SOUND mind (even if I DO like to study skulls and other stuff) do hereby put forth my partner Baron Edward Stormbreak (also known as Cheese - also known as Myed) for auction as a Gala escort because I will be visiting Whitefrost during that time.

I've often heard talk of a calm before a storm, or the eerie silence that hangs over soldiers before a battle. My father spoke of it often, how in the war against Southport, those were often the last moments where he would find clarity before the chaos descended upon everyone. What you care about - what life is - becomes stunningly obvious, and the rest falls away as you sit there with your thoughts, knowing that no matter what happens - it will be different on the other side.
I'm very much not the soldier my father is, but I have had moments of it myself. When I woke up surrounded by elves in dark armor, when I heard news of some battle forming.
The city feels like it's in that state right now - and admittedly, perhaps, some of that is my own experiences in life filtering in. But there is a tension in the air, as I stand here at one of the highest points on the great plateau of Arx.
My father thrives in those moments before the fight. I thrive in those moments where everything is too much.
Let's do this.

The fund raiser has ended and I sit here staring at the numbers feeling a wash of such gratitude I can't begin to express it all, it is just too big.
I have so many people to thank, so many people who did so much for us, who gave so much for us. First though I have to thank Grandmaster Thena because without her I don't know that this would have been possible, not even remotely.
If you don't know Dame Thena then you are missing out.
A huge thank you to the Knights of Solace in totality, thank you so much for jumping in with us, for going along on this mad adventure and helping us to get so much further than we ever could have alone.

I think it's time for me to announce my retirement from auctioneering.
All right, maybe not. But I'm going to start requiring donations.
It really was an amazing event and I thank everyone who showed up, bidders, biddees and spectators alike. The Order of East Light has been given a great start and I'm sure it will only continue to grow under the guidance of Dame Coraline Thrax.
I may have my voice back in a week or so, so if you want to come talk to me when I can't yell at you, now's the time.

Relationship Note on Coraline
The final day of the fundraiser for the Order of East Light concluded and I'll have to say it went even better than I expected, and I expected a lot. Coraline really outdid herself and of course we couldn't have done it without Dame Thena, whom I managed to secure a day with for a steal! Many turned up and so much was made. Things are certainly looking up for our new order, and I couldn't be more proud of everything Princess Coraline has done.
She has been my inspiration to be so much more than I am, a reminder of just how far potential can reach, if you only have the courage to reach out and take it.

I have sat staring at this page for an hour and a half. Atreke is looking at me. The veil makes the world dim.
I know what to write. But I can't.
It has been two hours. Vellichor, give me strength.
On the 18th of April, 1009 years after the Reckoning, my lover and wife-to-be Wynna Blackwing was murdered, along with all members--excepting only me--of a caravan travelling from the city of Arx, capital of the Compact, to the city of Sanctum, capital of the Oathlands. The perpetrators of this crime were shav'arani.

It has been three hours.
One more thing: I swear, by all the Holy Gods, that I will see those responsible brought to justice--I will reduce the entirety of the Grey Forest to smouldering ash, if need be.
