If you bite it, maybe you come around again, even better. If not, you get famous. Fear is for other people. Regret is for other people. Simply do as you wish, and be really good at handling consequences. It's not hard.

Gentle Readers,
The reception for Alessandro and Margret in honor of their wedding was absolutely lovely! I cannot express just how wonderful a job that Margret did in decorating the gardens to turn it into a winder wonderland. Seeing my cousins so happy made my heart lift with joy as well. We are blessed to have Alessandro join the Greenmarch family.
Seeing our allies from House Redrain and House Velenosa also made me quite happy. I very much look forward to having them visit us at Greenmarch Lodge as often as possible. And, of course, the King's attendance was such a wonderful honor to my cousins and to our house!
And I deeply enjoyed the time spent with Duke Vercyn this evening. His presence is, as always, comforting and gracious. I have always held the deepest respect for him and this night simply confirmed it.
All in all, it was truly a magical evening.

The wedding celebration of Lord Alessandro and Lady Margret Greenmarch was every bit as wonderful as I knew it would be. The care they put into the festivities was evident, and their love warmed everyone this winter's eve.
The skating rink was a particular success. If you've never seen Bliss Whisper ice skate? You really ought to.
All in all, it was a wonderful way to honor the love of two very deserving people and welcome Alessandro to the family officially.

I'm very excited about the progress we're making in planning for the rebuilding of the County of Darkwater. It's a massive undertaking, and yet, it seems that we will make what was almost leveled into a beautiful home for many people. All of the thralls who work on the rebuilding of infrastructure will be paid a fair wage, enough to free them, and they'll be encouraged to settle there. We'll be working on the lighthouse and the keep. We'll be making the port into a real destination.
Not only will people want to visit Darkwater for the shrine, but it will be an important stop for the military and an essential trading port. We have plans, and we have people eager to execute those plans.

I wasn't aware that I had to inform the general public anytime there is a change in my life. Let me catch everyone up so that people can move on to things that are actually important.
Following the challenge being issued, it was conveyed to me the importance of duels being fought by Champions. I have been asked several times to stand in this capacity so I contacted the Champions to resolve the issue. I absolutely do not think of myself as a performer, but I do not want to disrespect a tradition and an institution. This change was mentioned to the people involved, if I didn't make it plain to Legate Orazio, I apologize to him, and will write him a personal apology after this has been given to the scholars.
If there is anything else about my life that you absolutely need to know, please find something better to do.

Mistress Mirari Corsetina was not a Champion when Duchess Pravus chose her, or if she was, she denied it. Apparently she joined the Guild without informing the Legat.

Speaking of the duel that I was recently a party to:
I wish, as always, to commend the champions who fought - whether for entertainment or for legitimate points of honor, those who pick up a weapon to defend another's cause are to be commended. Particular commendations go to Champion Prince Luca, of Grayson and the Champion's Guild. He was, as always, a master with the blade. Should anyone desire a worthy sword, they could do little better than he.
I also wish to commend Duchess Belladonna. While her choice of a non-Champion as her advocate in this dispute was a bit unconventional, she has been the epitome of nobility throughout the entire process, from responding to the challenge, to conceding with grace and dignity once the final blow was struck. I no longer have any quarrel with her, and more, others who stand for a duel over legitimate points of honor could do worse than to look to her example for how to behave during a duel of honor.
Except, of course, that despite Mistress Mirari's great skill and wonderful attitude, I would recommend that further duelists reach out to the Champion's Guild, first. All in all, however, I emerged from the experience feeling that just perhaps not /all/ of the nobility has failed to be educated in dueling etiquette and importance.
And yes, there was a small snowball fight afterwards. It was quite enjoyable.

Some of my favorite times since leaving Farhaven for Arx is when family ends up gathered in the dining room for just an unexpected snack or meal. Not an official meeting or ordained dinner, but just a small supper of sorts where we catch up on the smaller things, the personal doings; a brief respite from our various duties to just be family.
Please note that the scholars may take some time preparing your journal for others to read.
