Very soon, small groups of Explorers will be heading to Stormwall to see what heirlooms they can find that might have survived the great fire. It will be interesting to see how well they do over terrain that we know, before settling some in terrain we do not know. This is the first of many projects to come. I wonder how Cadenza is doing with her group of Explorers with Darkwater Watch.

Business is still good, and my living quarters are more livable now that I've replaced the old furniture. I've met a few good people too, from all walks of life. I'm really settling into this city nicely.

There is a kind of loneliness that only comes from the absence of a presence you are used too. Even if it was a silent one, it was there. And I feel that empty quiet much more than the full one as we scribbled our various bits of research side by side. I do hope things are going well in Darkwater. But once again I find myself proven right. Everyone leaves.

With the Shadow Carnival coming up, my attention has turned to my wardrobe and I have come to realize I need something new for this. Something grandiose. I have more than a few ideas in my mind, the question is determining which I want to pursue - and which I want to keep for more private usage.
A truly daunting thing.
In the meantime, I am working on getting my shoulder back into working condition. There are many well-intentioned people out there advising me to slow it down, take it easy. It happens nearly every time I pick up a sword. One even told me I should be refusing to duel while this heals. I laid in bed, ill, for months, and if anything it got worse. Pushing myself as far as I can go, and further beyond that still remains the only thing that ever seems to do me any good.
Of course, this applies even outside the arena.
What are a few more scars, after all?

Twenty three years as of yesterday I've been alive. Four years I've been free since being released from Thralldom by Princess Donella. About nine months I've been a duelist in Arx. My life has changed so fast. So many ups and downs, twists and turns, but yet always growth and improvement. I've become faster, stronger, smarter, smoother then I've ever been. I am a star that rises but never falls, I can not go anywhere but up.

City life here in Arx is quite a lot different from what I'm used to. Not more complicated, but different. Of course, I didn't anticipate a protracted stay. But a protracted stay I may have. I'll spend a little time expanding my cultural knowledge and seeing what serves for parties in this noble city of ours. And, of course, catching up with my family. Arx seems to have attracted them all here, one by one by one.
