Being a scary person is a great way to get what you want without having to lift a finger. It is all a matter of presence and the attitude that you are going to stand fast. The vast majority of people do not like confrontation and thus will back down. Be intimidating, save lives.

It is always nice to be out at sea, but it is always nicer to be home. I've been back home for a few days now and I had the opportunity to meet a few new faces and enjoy drink with new people. I am hoping that I will not have to go back out anytime soon.

I was reading the wonderful 'Language of Flowers' and how one can use flowers as coded messages. I got to thinking that it would be beneficial to study under a perfumer and learn how to incorporate the two -- to choose scents based on this secret, floral language.

Traveling makes one weary but I've returned just in the nick of time. It's Spring in Arx! I can shed those heavy cloaks and furs and finally take out the dresses I've longed to wear. This also means I'm going to need a couple of new gowns just because. And since Summer is just around the bend, I will have to commission some styles for the hotter weather in preparation.

It's a shame to see the last snow of winter begin to melt. Spring is a special time, one that brings hope and renewal, but winter has always reminded me of home.
There's an austere beauty in a pristine layer of white snow on the ground. There's something about the bitter cold in the air. Sure, it's uncomfortable, but it forces you to attend to your surroundings. Whether it's to keep your hood high or to hurry to your destination, it keeps you in the moment, when all too often we walk through life but lost in our thoughts, preoccupied with the many concerns that Arx places before us.
Or maybe that's just me.
Either way.
Spring will bring fresh sights, and fresh challenges. But I wouldn't have minded if the snow stuck around a little longer.

As of late I have been thinking of what more I can offer the Compact to improve the lots of those who live in it.
I am very well versed and experienced in a few areas but feel that perhaps I can learn better techniques on how to properly pass along what I know to others.

It is still brisk outside but it is now far easier and pleasant for walks as well as meaning that training sessions do not need to be as weather dependant as practising in the snow is necessary but something I would rather not have to do.

I am admittedly irked. I'll check out Lady Skye's event to see how she managed to invent twinkling lights before I did, but how frustrating it is to work so hard at a thing only to be bested! ...No, Elloise, that is not the mentality of a good scientist.
